  • Robin Williams' Health Woes Before Suicide Highlighted in New Documentary

    WENN

The late ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ actor’s struggles with Lewy Body Dementia before he took his own life will be featured in the upcoming documentary movie ‘Robin’s Wish’.
    Aug 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Robin Williams’ battle with Lewy Body Dementia will be chronicled in a new documentary.
“Robin’s Wish” features behind-the-scenes footage of the beloved “Mrs. Doubtfire” star, who took his own life in August 2014 as he unknowingly struggled with the progressive neurological disease that was discovered after his death.
“During the last year of his life, Robin was confronted with anxiety, paranoia, insomnia, scary altered realities and a roller coaster of hope and despair,” his widow Susan Schneider Williams tells Rolling Stone in a statement. “With our medical team’s care, we chased a relentless parade of symptoms but with very little gain.”
“It wasn’t until after Robin’s passing, in autopsy, that the source of his terror was revealed: he had diffuse Lewy body disease. It was one of the worst cases medical professionals had seen.”
Susan was able to cope with the loss of Robin and make sense of the breakdown ahead of his death after researching more about the illness as part of the film.
“Armed with the name of a brain disease I’d never heard of, I set out on a mission to understand it, and that led me down my unchosen path of advocacy,” she adds. “With invaluable help from leading medical experts, I saw that what Robin and I had gone through finally made sense – our experience matched up with the science. And what I discovered along the way was bigger than me, and bigger than Robin. The full story was revealed during the making of this film and it holds the truth that Robin and I had been searching for.”
“Robin’s Wish”, directed by Tylor Norwood, also features interviews with the icon’s collaborators and will be released digitally on 1 September (20).

  • 'Mission: Impossible 7' Director Blames Disgruntled Employee for Rumor About Historic Bridge Blow Up

    WENN/TVGroove.com

Christopher McQuarrie is quick to offer clarification over claims that the producers of the action movie were planning to destroy a historical Polish landmark in an explosive scene.
    Aug 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Mission: Impossible VII” director Christopher McQuarrie has shut down reports he destroyed a historical Polish landmark for an explosive scene in Tom Cruise’s new movie.
Sources told media outlets the producers of the action movie were planning to blow up a 100-year-old bridge for one sequence, but the filmmaker has now come forward and insisted the rumours were nothing but lies from a disgruntled employee.
“One individual, for reasons I cannot specify without revealing their identity, claimed they were owed a job on the production, for which we felt they were not adequately qualified,” Christopher wrote in a statement to Empire. “When this individual’s demands were not met, they retaliated.”
“After harassing members of our production publicly and anonymously on social media, as well as privately, this individual misrepresented our intentions and concealed their personal reasons for wanting to penalise us. In short, this individual manipulated the emotional response of the people in a move that has now compromised our ambitions to bring our production to Poland.”
Christopher went on to insist the producers were blowing up an unused bridge to pave way for a revitalisation of the railroad system in the Eastern European country, not destroy a century-old historic landmark.”
“The people we spoke to were excited by the prospect of our bringing a large film production to Poland and the resources it would inject into the local economy (Poland has just released a new film incentive program, and wanted a known project to promote its film industry),” he added. “They were also delighted that we’d be making way for a new bridge that might otherwise not be rebuilt, and might lead the government to revitalise the railroad line.”
“Mission: Impossible VII” just recently resumed filming after production was shut down back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. The movie is scheduled to reach theatres next year.

  • Joey King Says Jacob Elordi's Lying About Not Watching 'The Kissing Booth 2'

    Netflix

During an interview with Variety, Jacob, who plays Noah Flynn in the teen flick, claims that he hasn’t actually watched the second film which was released on July 24.
    Aug 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Joey King claims that her “The Kissing Booth 2” co-star and ex-boyfriend Jacob Elordi is capping. The actress has taken to her Twitter account to call out Jacob for lying about whether or not he watched the new movie.
During an interview with Variety which was published on Thursday, August 6, Jacob claimed that he hasn’t actually watched the second film. “I haven’t seen it. You’ve seen more than I have. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that, but I haven’t,” Jacob, who plays Noah Flynn in the teen romantic comedy film, said.
Catching wind of Jacob’s statement, Joey quickly shut it down in a now-deleted tweet. Accusing him of lying, she jokingly wrote on the blue bird app, “Jacob watched it. He’s capping.”
Joey and Jacob used to date for a year and a half after filming the first “The Kissing Booth”. Their romance, however, didn’t last long as they called it quits in 2018.
“In this world, everyone wants to know your business and what you’re doing,” she opened up last month about dating in the public eye. “I think it’s very interesting when you go through things and people kind of feel like they’re owed an explanation, but I understand.”
Most recently, she’s rumored to be dating her other co-star Taylor Zakhar Perez, though the Marco Pena depicter in “The Kissing Booth 2” set the record straight about the swirling speculations. Sharing his thought on the rumors in an interview published on Wednesday, August 5, the 29-year-old actor opened up that he “loves her dearly” and “would do anything for her.”
Despite that, he stressed, “We’re not dating. I’ll end it with that.” He added that the dating speculations “cracked [the two of them] up.”
When talking about his close bond with Joey, Taylor spilled on how they became friends during production of “The Kissing Booth” sequel. “We just kind of hit it off. When we were in South Africa, we had dinner together,” he recalled. “I cooked for her, she cooked for me. We just became kind of like the best of friends.”

The Joker star took to Instagram on Thursday (06Aug20) to mark what would have been the late artist’s birthday, sharing numerous pictures of him and writing alongside them, “We miss you and your genius. Yes it’s true I will be playing Andy Warhol in an upcoming film. And so grateful and excited about the opportunity.”
    “Happy birthday Andy,” he concluded.
Jared gave no further details about the upcoming “Warhol” biopic. However, back in 2016 it was reported that Jared had signed on to play Warhol as well as produce the biopic alongside “Captain Phillips” ‘ Michael De Luca. “The Wolf of Wall Street” ‘s Terence Winter was due to write the screenplay for the film, which was to be based on Victor Bockris’ 1989 book, “Warhol: The Biography”.
It’s unclear whether or not this is the same project. However, Jared and De Luca purchased the rights to Bockris’ book some years ago.
