  • Emma Watson Disappoints Woman Inspiring Her 'Bling Ring' Character With Unsympathetic Remarks

    NALA Films/Instagram

When speaking about the ‘Little Women’ star’s role in the 2013 movie during an Instagram Live broadcast, Alexis Neiers points out the one problem she had with the actress.
    Aug 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Emma Watson has been slammed by Alexis Neiers – the woman who inspired her character in 2013 movie “The Bling Ring” – for remarks she made about her.
The satirical crime film centred on a real-life gang of fame-obsessed teenagers, who tracked the whereabouts of celebrities and then robbed their homes of riches.
After the 2010 crime spree, Alexis was charged with burglary and sentenced to 180 days in jail, three years’ probation, and a $600,000 (£460,000) fine.
Speaking during an Instagram Live broadcast, Alexis reflected on Emma’s portrayal of the character inspired by her, and confessed she was disappointed by comments the “Little Women (2019)” star previously made about her.
“The problem I had is with the comments she made about me and the role, despite the fact that she already knew that I was a convicted… like, the heroin part, the drug addiction part had already come out (sic),” Alexis explained during her chat with Ziwe Fumudoh. “So, I was actually in treatment at the time they were filming the movie.”
She also noted she had hoped for more empathy from Emma, recalling the actress said, “Something along the lines of, ‘This girl’s the epitome of what I’m totally against and she’s disgusting’.”
“At that point I already came out with the fact that I’ve been sexually abused throughout my childhood and was like a full-blown heroin addict at the time,” Alexis added.

While promoting the movie, Emma told W magazine her character was “so different from me. How do I try and understand a young woman who loves these things so much that she is prepared to commit crimes to have them?”.

  • Tom Cruise Jumps Out of Chopper in Daredevil Stunt as 'Mission: Impossible 7' Resumes Filming

    WENN

The Ethan Hunt depicter is back on set, filming a thrilling stunt in the United kingdom countryside for the upcoming seventh installment of the ‘Mission: Impossible’.
    Aug 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Action man Tom Cruise is back to tackling daredevil stunts on camera after resuming production on his latest “Mission: Impossible” sequel.
The actor, who turned 58 last month (Jul20), recently returned to work on “Mission: Impossible 7” in the U.K. after the coronavirus pandemic forced director Christopher McQuarrie to halt filming back in March, and last week (ends31Jul20), Cruise was spotted jumping out of a helicopter in the Oxfordshire countryside.
He was joined by two castmembers for the skydive, 10,000 feet (3,048 metres) up in the sky, reports the Daily Mail.

“Mission: Impossible” fans have come to expect at least one seriously impressive action sequence from Cruise in instalments of the film franchise – in 2011’s “Ghost Protocol”, he climbed to the top of Dubai, United Arab Emirates’ sky-rise Burj Khalifa tower – the tallest building in the world – and in 2015’s “Rogue Nation”, he strapped himself to an airplane during take-off.
He also famously broke his ankle shooting “Mission: Impossible 6” in London in 2017 when he slammed his foot into a wall after mistiming a building jump stunt.

The ‘Magic Mike’ actor teams up with Justin Bieber’s manager to produce a young adult adaptation of William Shakespeare’s iconic character Lady Macbeth.
    Aug 2, 2020
AceShowbiz – Channing Tatum is taking on a new role as producer of a project for Amazon Studios.
The 40-year-old “Magic Mike” star will team with Scooter Braun and the streaming giant for an as-yet-untitled Lady Macbeth young adult musical feature.
According to editors at The Hollywood Reporter, Tatum will produce through his Free Association production company, alongside partners Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan and Michael Parets. Braun will produce through his SB Projects company, alongside Scott Manson and James Shin.
Details of the plot are under wraps at present, but the publication reports it will potentially feature a teenage version of William Shakespeare’s iconic character Lady Macbeth who “grapples with her own morality as she contends with the dreadful consequences of her ambition.”
Lady Macbeth is a key figure in Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”, the tale of a Scottish general who murders his way into kingship while descending into madness from guilt and belief in a prophecy told by witches. Lady Macbeth is his wife – a calculating woman who prods her husband into murder and war.
John McPhail of “Anna and the Apocalypse” will direct the project, which will be written by S.J. Inwards.

    WENN

The ‘Deadpool’ actor is using his own money to pay up to 20 trainees from marginalized backgrounds to work on movie set in an effort to push diversity in the film industry.
    Aug 2, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ryan Reynolds has launched The Group Effort Initiative in a bid to diversify the film industry.
The “Deadpool” star will pay 10 to 20 trainees who are black, indigenous, other persons of colour or from different marginalised backgrounds to work on set, using his own earnings from every movie he makes moving forward as part of the work experience programme.
“I’ve had a front row seat to the immense talent of so many artisans, storytellers and experts,” Ryan told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement on Friday (31Jul20). “Being a member of a film crew is a special experience – but that privilege hasn’t been extended to everyone. There’s a ton of untapped talent out there. This action is the right thing to do, but it’s worth noting that inclusivity will also make our industry stronger and more dynamic. We will tell better stories.”
Ryan worked with Dr. Stacy Smith of the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative to help design The Group Effort Initiative, which he will employ for movies made under his Maximum Effort Productions company.
The first group of trainees will work on his upcoming untitled time travel film to be directed by Shawn Levy for Netflix. The sci-fi project is expected to begin filming soon in Vancouver, Canada if coronavirus restrictions do not derail the original schedule.

  • Noname Sparks Controversy After Shading Beyonce's 'Black Is King'

    Instagram

The outspoken rapper has taken to her Twitter account to share her two cents on the project, calling the star-studded streaming visual album ‘an african aesthetic draped in capitalism.’
    Aug 1, 2020
AceShowbiz – Beyonce Knowles has recently released her star-studded streaming visual album “Black Is King” that features former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland and her own family. While many fans applauded the singer for putting black excellency at the front, rapper Noname appeared to be not too thrilled by the film.
The outspoken star took to her Twitter account on Friday, July 31 to share her two cents on the project. “we love an african aesthetic draped in capitalism. hope we remember the blk folks on the continent whose daily lives are impacted by u.s imperialism,” so she wrote to her followers. “if we can uplift the imagery i hope we can uplift those who will never be able to access it. black liberation is a global struggle.”

Noname shaded Beyonce’s ‘Black Is King’ on Twitter.
Almost unsurprisingly, the tweet earned Noname criticism from Beyonce’s fans. “As an African living in Africa I assure you Beyonce’s dedication to collaborating with our talented creatives to come up with beautiful uplifting art is doing more for us than anything you have done,” one replied to her tweet.
Another user questioned, “Would you have liked it if the African looked poor and hungry?? You saw Africans being themselves and being part of an amazing body of art and looking good at that and you called it an aesthetic?? The real Africa is what small huts and torn clothes and hungry looking children?”
Someone else insinuated that Noname might have unresolved feelings towards the “Lemonade” singer in personal level that made the rapper biased in her opinion. “Whatever issue you have with that woman is deeper than capitalism but this bs that you typed is disrespectful asf to the actual African creatives that also worked hard on this film! Get it together!” the person said.
Prior to this, Noname came under fire after she mentioned Beyonce in a political-driven tweet. The tweet, which was shared on June 24, saw the rapper asking people to love political activist Angela Davis as much as they love the wife of Jay-Z. Quoting a tweet featuring “color photos of when Angela Davis spoke behind a four-sided bulletproof glass shield at Madison Square Garden, 29 June 1972,” Noname wrote, “i wish angela got the love beyonce gets.” The tweet has since been deleted.
The post apparently rubbed Beyhives the wrong way and prompted them to attack Noname. Bringing Noname’s feud with J. Cole into the discussion, a fan wrote, “Cole ‘instead of talking down on people who don’t have access to the same information you have, maybe try to educate them instead, but you don’t have to be condescending, we’re all fighting the same fight’ NoName ‘y’all love Beyonce so much but dgaf about Angela Davis LMAOOOOO.’ ”
