  • Natasha Richardson's Son Believes Late Actress Brought 'Made in Italy' to Him and His Father

    CrossDay Productions Ltd.

When speaking about his work on the new drama, Micheal Richardson expresses his doubt that he will ever fully come to terms with his mother death from a tragic skiing accident in 2009.
    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Actor Micheal Richardson is sure his late mother Natasha Richardson “had a hand” in his casting for new drama “Made in Italy”.
The 25-year-old stars alongside his real-life dad and Natasha’s widower, Liam Neeson, as a father and son struggling with the loss of the family matriarch, and Micheal reveals he was drawn to the project because it hit so close to home as the British actress died in 2009 after a tragic skiing accident.
It was Neeson who actually brought the script to his son’s attention, indicating it would be the perfect project for the pair to tackle together onscreen. “He had this look in his eye,” Micheal recalled to Vanity Fair. “He was like, ‘I want you to read this.’ He didn’t say anything else.”
And once he finished reading the screenplay, the young actor knew he wanted to jump onboard.
“The parallels were so apparent, that it felt like my mum, in a spiritual sense, had a hand in it (bringing the film to them),” he shared.
Micheal, who was just 13 when he lost his mum, also felt Natasha’s presence on set, particularly during a pivotal scene with Neeson, when a butterfly flew back and forth between them.
He recently admitted working on the movie with his dad opened them up to really discuss the pain they still harbored over Natasha’s passing, but Micheal doubts he will ever fully come to terms with her death, something he has struggled with for more than a decade.
“I think the pain was a little too overwhelming,” he said of dealing with the tragedy at the time. “I think the mind is very powerful, and subconsciously, or unconsciously, it can protect you. That’s what it did when she passed. I just pushed it aside and didn’t want to deal with it.”
“I don’t, even still, think that I’ve fully comprehended it, and that seems to be a similar journey to a lot of people I’ve spoken to,” Micheal continued. “Fifty-year-olds who lost their parents when they were 12, 13… One day they’re out gardening, and something comes over them and they just break down.”
And although “Made in Italy” forced Micheal to relive aspects of his own personal heartache, he’s grateful for the opportunity to keep his mother’s memory alive.
“I think as I get older, keeping my mum more in mind and doing things to honor her allows me to remember her and to go through the grief, and properly heal,” he added.

  • Pics: KJ Apa Braces Getting Stitched With a Grin After Injuring His Head on 'Songbird' Set

    Instagram

This is the latest scary incident that the ‘Riverdale’ star has experienced in the last two weeks after he got a ‘shard of metal’ struck in his eyeball, leaving him with ‘a hole’ in his eye.
    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – KJ Apa isn’t so lucky with stunts. The actor has got into an on-set accident as he filmed his new quarantine-themed movie “Songbird”, which apparently requires him to perform some of his own stunts.
The redhead took to Instagram on Wednesday, July 29 to reveal a head injury that he suffered from the mishap. In one of the photos, he flashed a grin as a medic stitched up his head. Going shirtless, the 23-year-old showed on the next slide his T-shirt which was tainted with his blood on the collar. “Stunts,” he simply captioned the pics.
The Archie Andrews on The CW’s “Riverdale” shared more details of his injury on Instagram Stories on Thursday. He posted a photo of his injured head before it got stitched and later showed the staples on his head.

KJ Apa showed his head injury.
“I split my head open yesterday,” he told his followers in a clip. “I don’t know if you guys can see that, but I have two stitches in there, metal stitches.” He didn’t reveal, however, how the accident happened.
This is the latest scary incident that KJ has experienced in the last two weeks after he got a “shard of metal” struck in his eyeball. On July 19, the New Zealand native shared an Instagram video which captured the ordeal.
The 23-year-old star had to enlist the help of celebrity hairstylist friend Jason Schneidman to help remove the metal. “Bro, it’s stuck in there, bro. It’s really stuck,” he said as he looked at his eye in the mirror. “I have to work tomorrow.”
KJ then took the swab and tried to get the metal out himself, dabbing his eyeball gently to try and work it out. “It’s actually like punctured my eye,” he said after successfully getting it out and asked Jason to check for any other debris.
“You got the piece out, bro. That’s the piece that was f**king in your eye, dude,” the hairdresser replied. Still feeling uncomfortable after getting the metal removed, he asked Jason, “what’s that?” after seeing something left on his eyeball.
“That’s just now a f**king damage,” his friend replied, to which KJ gasped, “That’s just a hole?” before breaking down into tears. Another friend was then heard trying to calm him down, “You’re going to be okay. Stop freaking out.”

  • Ryan Reynolds Blames 'Deadpool' Leaks for Third Movie's Delay in 'Unsolved Mysteries' Spoof

    Twentieth Century Fox

Celebrating the six-year anniversary of the leaked ‘Deadpool’ test footage, the Merc with a Mouth depicter releases an ‘Unsolved Mysteries’-inspired parody trailer about the case.
    Jul 30, 2020
AceShowbiz – Six years after the leaks of the “Deadpool” movie test footage, Ryan Reynolds is still investigating the culprit behind it, or so he claims. Marking the six-year anniversary of the leaks, the Canadian actor released on his Instagram and Twitter page on Tuesday, July 28 an “Unsolved Mysteries” parody about the case.
The video, spoofing the trailer of the popular TV series which was recently revived on Netflix, features the haunting music along with footage from the first film. The title, written in the “Unsolved Mysteries” font, reads, “Unsolved Leaks.”
In the caption, Reynolds joked that the unsolved case is the reason why “Deadpool 3” is taking so long to come. “It’s why the next #Deadpool film is taking so long. Still trying to solve this. Happy #Leakaversary,‬” he wrote.

It’s good to see that Reynolds still finds the humor in the “Deadpool 3” delay and keeps his positive spirits after “Deadpool” comic book creator Rob Liefeld has several times expressed his doubt that there will be a third movie. “You know what? There may not be another ‘Deadpool’, and I’m fine,” he said in an interview with Collider earlier this month. “Because I have to live with the fact that I had two amazing experiences, two movies I’m extremely proud of, I love knowing everybody on those movies.”
Praising the whole “Deadpool” movie’s team, Liefeld gushed, “I love Ryan (Reynolds), Josh (Brolin), Zazie (Beetz), David (Leitch), Tim Miller. All of them. The work they did was fantabulous, those movies are here to stand the test of time. You know, but in the world we live in, nothing is guaranteed. And it takes a lot to make movies. And post-quarantine, it’s weird.”
While a direct sequel might be off the cards, Liefeld hopes to see a spin-off focused on Cable, played by Josh Brolin. “Cable should have his own movie series. He can exist independent of Deadpool in a heartbeat. He has for years,” he teased. “If Deadpool’s been in like 330 comics, Cable’s been in about 520. Yes, I’ve counted…”
“In between ‘Deadpool 2’ wrapping and opening, I got really close with Josh. And he was very excited about exploring Cable in the subsequent sequels,” he went on sharing. “The X-Force standalone movie that was, in his own words, Cable-centric.”
