    Jan 11, 2021
AceShowbiz – Keyshia Cole is feeling sorry for fans as they are forced to wait a little longer for a “Verzuz” featuring her and Ashanti. After it was announced that the episode was pushed back due to relocation, the “Love” hitmaker took to her Instagram account to apologize to her fans.
“I’m so sorry the @verzuztv event didn’t happen!” so the singer wrote on Saturday, January 9 in the caption alongside a selfie. She then explained that the decision to delay the much-awaited episode was made to ensure safety for everyone involved, saying, “I want you guys to kno, I really think @applemusic didn’t want to put staff/Production in danger along with @ashanti and myself.”
The “I Should Have Cheated” songstress added, “Due to the recent spike with the Corona virus …. I kno you all had get togethers and parties planned in states that were open. I’m so sorry! I love you guys, and thank you for the continued love and support over all these years!!! I BEEN READY! And I STAY READY!!!”

Keyshia Cole sounded disappointed over the ‘Verzuz’ delay.
“Verzuz”, which hails from Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, announced the delay on Instagram on Friday, writing, “This has been an emotional week. In addition, as COVID-19 numbers continue to increase, safety is a top priority for us. As much as we enjoy having everyone together in the same room, to protect the artists and everyone who works with us in putting the shows together, we’ll be going back to separate locations for a bit.”
Concluding the announcement, the statement continued, “We’re excited for the next few events, and look forward to getting back to the show in the coming weeks,” noting that the upcoming battle will be between Ashanti and Keyshia.
Keyshia made sure that everyone knew that she wasn’t happy for the decision, taking to the comment section to leave a side-eyeing emoji. Fans rallied behind her as one wrote, “literally been saying stop playing with keyshia!!” Alluding that the numerous delays were because Ashanti was scared to go against Keyshia, a fan insisted, “Cause at this point she SCARED baby ! We know.”
Keyshia and Ashanti were initially set to go head-to-head on December 12, 2020. It was pushed back due to Ashanti’s COVID-19 diagnosis. “Unfortunately, we have to postpone tonight’s @Ashanti vs @KeyshiaCole #VERZUZ. Ashanti tested positive for COVID-19 beforehand, and we cannot put anyone at risk in the process. First time this has struck us so close to showtime,” a statement read. “We apologize to our incredible audience! Get well soon, Ashanti. Wear a mask, stay inside, and take COVID-19 seriously. It’s truly affecting our community.”

Despite being delayed due to a technical glitch, the 24-hour celebration titled ‘Celebration: Just For One Day’ also features his longtime producer Tony Visconti and members of his final touring band.

    Jan 11, 2021
AceShowbiz – David Bowie’s birthday tribute had to wait a day over the weekend due to a technical glitch.
Stars like Trent Reznor, Duran Duran and Boy George were scheduled to perform Bowie covers with the late rocker’s pianist Mike Garson as part of a 24-hour celebration beginning on Friday night (January 08), but the event didn’t actually get underway until late Saturday.

The one-night-only pay-to-view marathon also featured Bowie’s longtime producer Tony Visconti, members of his final touring band, and acts like Billy Corgan, Perry Farrell and YUNGBLUD.

Duran Duran opened the concert with a cover of “Five Years” from Bowie’s 1972 album, “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars”. Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon previouslly admitted the track is very important to him.

“My life as a teenager was all about David Bowie,” he said. “He is the reason why I started writing songs. Part of me still can’t believe in his death five years ago, but maybe that’s because there’s a part of me where he’s still alive and always will be.”
He went on sharing, “When we got the ‘Ziggy Stardust’ LP and put the needle in the groove, our first taste of its perfection was the song Five Years. I can’t begin to explain how honoured I feel for Duran Duran to be given the opportunity to perform (for) this icon, and to place our name alongside Bowie’s for this commemoration of his music.”

Highlights included The Smashing Pumpkins star Corgan’s emotional version of “Space Oddity” and Nine Inch Nails leader Reznor’s take on “Fashion” and “Fantastic Voyage”, while Adam Lambert wowed with his theatrical performance of “Starman”, and YUNGBLUD won praise for tackling “Life on Mars?”.

Proceeds from the event, titled “Celebration: Just For One Day!”, will be donated to Save the Children, one of the charities Bowie supported with ticket sales from his 50th birthday concert at Madison Square Garden in New York in 1997.

    Jan 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – Saweetie and Doja Cat have released the feminist anthem, “Best Friend”.
The rappers have treated fans to the track from the former’s upcoming album, “Pretty B**ch Music”, and served up a mouth-dropping music video helmed by David Meyers.
In the clip, the pair are seen diving off a cliff naked, having a slumber party, and driving a bedazzled Tesla.
One line goes, “Beep beep, is that my bestie in a Tessie? / Fresh blow out, skin on tan, ooh, she ready.”

Meanwhile, Doja has been teasing her new era on social media and hinted at a project called “Planet Her”.
The “Say So” hitmaker also suggested she has teamed up with the likes of Megan Thee Stallion and SZA on new music.
Doja is only following eight people on Twitter, the above artists, herself, and Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Young Thug, French Montana, and ASAP Ferg.
Appearing to tease collaborations, she cryptically wrote, “Following them for a reeeeaaaaasssoooonnn 😉 Guess why. (sic)”
The release of Doja Cat’s collaboration with Saweetie, however, was not without drama.
Last month, Saweetie slammed her label for prematurely releasing the song without her consent. “The wrong version at that smh. Like wtf???” she tweeted.
“I feel disrespected,” she wrote. “We put so much work into the visual & we shot for days for this super cinematic girl anthem. And for this to happen? wow….”

David Bowie Planned on Doing More Albums After Releasing 'Blackstar'

    WENN

Despite fans’ theory that the ‘Lazarus’ singer bid farewell with his 2016 album ‘Blackstar, one of his collaborators insists the musician didn’t know the LP will be his last.

    Jan 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – David Bowie didn’t expect “Blackstar” to be his final album, according to one of his collaborators on the project.
The music legend lost his battle with cancer two days after the album’s release in 2016 and many fans and experts still claim Bowie’s final music and videos suggest he knew the project would be his last, but musician Donny McCaslin insists the rocker didn’t think the LP was a farewell.
“There is the narrative of Blackstar being this farewell, which I totally get, but that coexists with the fact that he was just so creative,” Donnie tells NME.com. “He was planning on doing more.”
McCaslin, who leads the New York Jazz Ensemble, also claims Bowie was even discussing a series of intimate live concerts before he passed away.

“When I went to listen to the album at his apartment in November, 2015, the idea came up of doing some small gigs… We talked about how to do a little rehearsal and soundcheck and, of course, it was going to depend on how he felt. We talked again in December around the time of the musical (Lazarus) and he said he didn’t want to. He was working on new music and he wanted to record in January.”
However, Robert Fox, a producer and long-time friend of the late musician, insisted David was aware of his impending death and “knew” ‘Blackstar’ would be his final record. “No, he knew. I think he knew,” he says. “Certainly, around Lazarus, it was very clear that there wouldn’t be anything else, barring a miracle.”
“The last time I saw him was when I went to his apartment two dates after the opening of the musical. It wasn’t an overdramatic farewell, although it was pretty clear that it probably would be.”
Bowie passed away in January 2016.

Kings of Leon 'Dug Deep' for Comeback Album

    WENN

According to lead vocalist Caleb Followill, the ‘Use Somebody’ rockers use ‘cool vintage equipment’ for their upcoming studio album ‘When You See Yourself’

    Jan 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – Kings of Leon’s comeback album, “When You See Yourself”, is their “most personal” yet.
The “Use Somebody” hitmakers have unveiled their first album since 2016’s “Walls” and, according to frontman Caleb Followill, his own “personal life flows through these songs.”
He also revealed that the band used vintage equipment to make the overall sound “timeless and beautiful,” like their idols Pink Floyd and The Beatles.
Speaking to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, Caleb explained, “I try to write and convince myself that I’m writing about something else but a vein of my personal life flows through these songs.”

“Sound-wise, Matthew really nerded out and found some cool vintage equipment. He was into organs and synthesisers as I was pulling teeth trying to get him to play more guitar! But when you hear that old equipment, it feels timeless and beautiful. A lot of the instruments on this album, you could’ve heard on Pink Floyd or Beatles albums. We really dug deep to find the proper equipment.”
The “Sex on Fire” rockers were due to return to London for the first time in three years for an exclusive performance at Finsbury Park last June (20), which would have preceded a small U.K. tour.
However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the two arena dates – in Newcastle and Leeds – were rescheduled for 14 and 15 June (21), with Caleb admitting he’s going to struggle to control his emotions when the band eventually gets on stage.
“When I walk out on stage for the first time. I’ll have butterflies as always but it’s going to take everything in me to not start weeping,” he sighed.
“When You See Yourself” is due for release on 5 March (21).

Suga Says BTS Looked Empty Without Him

    Facebook

The ‘Agust D’ star felt a ‘sense of displacement’ when watching his bandmates perform without him as he is recovering from a surgery to fix his shoulder injury.

    Jan 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – BTS star Suga found it hard watching his bandmates perform without him.
The singer is recovering after undergoing surgery on his shoulder in November (20) after spending years in pain, and he admitted it’s been emotionally draining watching the rest of the group promote their new album “BE” and being unable to join them.
“I could see the emptiness (onstage) because we’ve been together as a group of seven for so long,” he told Weverse magazine. “Not necessarily because I’m not there, but because something that should be there is missing.”
To get around his absence at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in December, a cyber version of Suga, which is similar to a hologram, appeared on stage with the band to perform “Life Goes On”. However, the singer admitted it had a “sense of displacement.”

      See also…

“There’s this 3D studio where we shot it. I shot, scanned and acted there, but (I) couldn’t see the actual result at the studio,” he said. “I thought a sense of displacement was unavoidable and that was exactly the case.”
Suga doesn’t think he’ll be fully recovered for “several months” but is confident he’ll be in better shape than ever once he’s finally healed.
It was previously explained Suga had “dislodged” his shoulder after being hit by a car. In 2019, he was told the cartilage around the joint was torn and he eventually underwent surgery in November last year.
“BE” is the Bangtan Boys’ second release in 2020 and their fifth studio album to date. It was released in November, only eight months after “Map of the Soul: 7”.
