      You Me At Six Reveal What Will Make Them Stop Making Music

      As the Josh Franceschi-fronted band is releasing their new album, the lead vocalist says he and bandmates will stop making music only if they run out of things to say.

      AceShowbiz – You Me At Six’s believe the group has made their defining LP – but they insist that, once they’re unable to “provoke a different conversation” with their music, they’ll call it quits.
      The “Save It for the Bedroom” rockers will release “Suckapunch” – their seventh record and the first since 2018’s “VI” – on 15 January (21), and frontman Josh Franceschi believes it’s the group’s strongest offering to date.
      He told Rock Sound magazine, “We feel we have done that with SUCKAPUNCH. It hits all the right notes, says all the things we want to say in the exact way we want to say them and finds us expressing ourselves unapologetically.”
      “I think that’s an insane thing for us to be able to do on our seventh record. We’re really like a brotherhood, though.”
      “We’ve had each other’s backs on a business and emotional level for 15 years. We’ve shaped each other’s lives and this record has helped us to blend into these new versions of ourselves.”

      Josh, 30, also considered the way the band continues to evolve and pointed out their goal of “proving a different conversation” about You Me At Six, which is completed by Max Helyer, Chris Miller, Matt Barnes, and Dan Flint.
      He explained, “The reasons that songs stand the test of time and there are songs that we will still sing along to at the top of our lungs in a nightclub or bar or at a show is because you’ve lived in that story yourself along with the band.”
      “The conversation always had to be, ‘If we aren’t doing something that’s provoking a different conversation about our band with our music, then we have to stop.’ ”
      “Otherwise, we will be those dudes in their late 30s playing music that could have been written when they were 19. What’s the point?”

      After Jesy Nelson quit the band last month (Dec20), Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, and Perrie Edwards vowed to continue without her, with Leigh-Anne revealing that new music is just weeks away.
      She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, “We have new music coming very soon. We’re working on something really exciting that will be out this spring, and can’t wait for you all to hear it.”
      Jade, Leigh-Anne, and Perrie have just topped the U.K. singles chart with “Sweet Melody” – their first number one single as a trio – and they are over the moon.
      Perrie said, “This number one is so special because the fans really fought for it. They’ve been downloading and streaming all week and we love that.”

      “As a song, Sweet Melody has built and built over the last few months, so it’s great for it finally to be at number one.”
      Jade added, “It’s also special because it’s our first number one as a trio. Starting off 2021 with a number one is amazing.”
      They are also due to resume their Confetti Tour in April, with Perrie admitting, “We can’t wait to get back on stage and tour again. We want to be on stage, seeing the fans.”
      Jesy Nelson left Little Mix, weeks after she took an “extended break” due to “private medical reasons.”
      During one of her final performances with Little Mix in September, she suffered an anxiety attack. She burst into tears and had to be comforted by her bandmates during their Live Lounge show for BBC.
      Before the panic attack, Jesy credited lockdown for giving her a much-needed break from the group. “It was quite nice to have our own space and time, because we never get time to just chill and just do nothing, so that was quite nice,” so she explained.

      AceShowbiz – Lars Ulrich still gets chills thinking about his first Metallica gig.
      The 57-year-old drummer – who made his debut on stage as a founding member of the “Enter Sandman” rockers in 1982 – has reflected on the buzz he felt getting behind his kit on that fateful night.
      He told Classic Rock magazine, “Well, the interesting thing about that first gig was it was just Metallica, on a Sunday night at Radio City in Anaheim, California.”
      “And on the very first song, Hit the Lights, Dave Mustaine broke a guitar string, and so the space between the first song and the second song seemed like a never-ending eternity. It felt like my whole life!”
      “I was just sitting up there trying to hide behind these drums. It was the strangest thing.”

      “But Dave got the guitar back together and we ended up playing the rest of the set. But there was a significant lull there. Trust me, I start shivering just talking about it now.”
      Live music has been largely halted during the pandemic, with many artists having to rely on livestream shows as large audiences are not possible due to the coronavirus.
      Asked how much he’s missed the thrill of watching a great gig, Lars said, “I just think of how lucky I’ve been in the past, all the great shows I’ve seen. I saw Thin Lizzy multiple times between ’76 and ’80 – incredible.”
      “I saw Motorhead multiple times, ’79 to ’81 – insane. I saw AC/DC open for Black Sabbath in 1976. And I saw AC/DC headline in Copenhagen in ’77, and Bon Scott was so great, you couldn’t take your eyes off him.”
      “That was Bon in his heyday, with the tight jeans, the tennis shoes, the shirt off.”
      “And I loved the way he would hold the mic with the cord rolled up two or three times, and he would stand out there at the very edge of the stage when he wasn’t singing, stand over on Malcolm’s side and let Angus bounce around in front of him…”

      Not long after the Little Mix member accidentally leaks the song’s rank on her since-deleted snap, Official Charts finally confirms the chart-topper on its Instagram account.

      AceShowbiz – Little Mix star Perrie Edwards is in hot water with U.K. pop chart compilers after announcing the band’s new song, “Sweet Melody”, was number one before the latest countdown was released on Friday, January 08.
      The pop star took to Instagram to share video of her flower gift from boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain alongside the caption “No 1 babyyy”, while the song played in the background.
      Perrie quickly removed the post, but not before fans around the world spotted it and commented, with one writing: “DID PERRIE JUST CONFIRM SWEET MELODY IS NUMBER ONE BEFORE THE CHARTS EVEN ANNOUNCED IT?” and another adding: “perrie managing to leak the chart position is such a perrie move.”
      The hit is the band’s first number one since Jesy Nelson announced she was leaving the group for mental health reasons last month (Dec20).
      Perrie, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall took to social media to share a brief clip of themselves welcoming in the New Year as a trio, adding the caption: “We can’t wait to see you all again very soon. Ps Sweet Melody is the perfect song for the top of your New Year playlists.”

      The track – the group’s fifth U.K. number one – was first released three months ago but the group’s fans, known as Mixers, rushed to get the song to the number one spot to honour Nelson.
      Officially confirming the chart-topper, Thirlwall told BBC Radio 1, “It’s the last single we did as a four with Jesy, and it’s even more special that now, going into 2021 as a three, we’ve got the first number one (sic).”
      Perrie added: “I just want to squish every single fan who managed to get it to number one.”

      Ed Sheeran’s “Afterglow” comes in at two on the new countdown, while Taylor Swift’s “Evermore” has beaten her ex-boyfriend Harry Styles’ “Fine Line” to the top of the U.K. albums chart.

      The members of the British band were huge fans of Bowie and his song “Five Years”, which they will perform virtually as part of the “A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day” event, which begins at 9 pm ET.

      The cover is already available to download, and Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon admits the track is very important to him.

      “This has been an emotional week. In addition, as COVID-19 numbers continue to increase, safety is a top priority for us,” the show, which hails from Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, announced on Instagram on Friday, January 8. “As much as we enjoy having everyone together in the same room, to protect the artists and everyone who works with us in putting the shows together, we’ll be going back to separate locations for a bit.”
      Concluding the announcement, the statement continued, “We’re excited for the next few events, and look forward to getting back to the show in the coming weeks,” noting that the upcoming battle will be between Ashanti and Keyshia.

      Making public her feelings, Keyshia took to the comment section to leave a side-eyeing emoji. Fans rallied behind her as one wrote, “literally been saying stop playing with keyshia!!” Alluding that the numerous delays were because Ashanti was scared to go against Keyshia, a fan insisted, “Cause at this point she SCARED baby ! We know.”
      “I know you was ready! So somebody scared *crosses arms* lol,” another fan similarly commented. Meanwhile, someone suggested Keyshia to just drop “Verzuz” altogether. “just go live and do some songs tomorrow to hell with verseuz,” the person said.
      Keyshia and Ashanti were initially set to go head-to-head on December 12, 2020. Fans, however, were forced to wait a little longer as it was pushed back due to Ashanti’s COVID-19 diagnosis. “Hey y’all I can’t believe I’m saying this but I tested positive for COVID-19,” the “Foolish” singer told fans. “I’m ok and not in any pain. I’m actually down to do the verzuz from my house… we’re tring (sic) to figure it all out!!!”
      Minutes later, “Verzuz” confirmed the delay in a statement which read, “Unfortunately, we have to postpone tonight’s @Ashanti vs @KeyshiaCole #VERZUZ. Ashanti tested positive for COVID-19 beforehand, and we cannot put anyone at risk in the process. First time this has struck us so close to showtime.” The statement continued, “We apologize to our incredible audience! Get well soon, Ashanti. Wear a mask, stay inside, and take COVID-19 seriously. It’s truly affecting our community.”
      Ashanti then revealed on New Year’s Day that she was finally in the clear after having to be in self-quarantine for the holidays. “Starting off the new year Amazing and Covid free!!! Got my negative results back 2 days ago,” she wrote on her social media account. “Feeling grateful. My parents and I got our negative results back right in time to start off the New Year healthy, happy & loved.”

      The “Let’s Dance” hitmaker, who passed away in 2016, would have turned 74 today and, after launching a new page on the video-sharing platform in his honour, his estate has made the star’s hits available for everyone to use in their clips. Bowie’s hits such as “Heroes”, “Space Oddity”, “Let’s Dance”, “Fame”, “Rebel Rebel”, “Life on Mars?” and “Ashes to Ashes” are now available in a dedicated playlist on the TikTok Sounds page.
      A post on the official David Bowie Instagram page reads, “To mark what would have been David Bowie’s 74th birthday tomorrow, you can now find his music on TikTok.”

      The 31-year-old set the record straight via Instagram on Friday, January 8. “the evermore deluxe album with 2 bonus tracks ‘right where you left me’ and ‘it’s time to go’ is now available! The first is a song about a girl who stayed forever in the exact spot where her heart was broken, completely frozen in time,” she clarified. ” ‘it’s time to go’ is about listening to your gut when it tells you to leave.       Taylor dropped “Right Where You Left Me” and “It’s Time to Go” on Thursday, January 7. Since then, her fans on Twitter were convinced that the latter was aimed at Karlie after listening to the lyrics which read, “When the words of a sister come back in whispers/ That prove she was not, in fact, what she seemed/ Not a twin from your dreams/ She’s a crook who was caught.”
      One speculated, “Wait…did Taylor Swift diss former ‘best friend forever’ Karlie Kloss on ‘it’s time to go’ ?” Another chimed in, “taylor swift warned you that there’s nothing she does better than revenge so it really should come as no surprise how beautifully she drags both karlie, scott and scooter in the bonus tracks.” A third additionally tweeted, “i know there’s a lot going on but taylor swift released a song calling karlie kloss ‘a crook who was caught.’ ”
      While Taylor did not offer more details about her friendship with Karlie, the two have been rumored to be embroiled in a feud multiple times. Speculations first arose when the “Willow” songstress did not include the model in her music video for “Look What You Made Me Do”. She also did not attend the model’s wedding to businessman Joshua Kushner.
      Although Karlie denied the beef speculations in March 2019, the rumors refused to die down. They resurfaced in June the same year after Taylor was once again absent from the former Victoria’s Secret Angel’s second wedding celebration. Among the guests were Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and the Grammy-winning artist’s music rival Scooter Braun.
