The ‘Suge’ rapper’s collaboration single with Roddy Ricch has become the Billboard Hot 100’s 1,104th number one, dethroning Megan Thee Stallion’s remix duet with Beyonce Knowles, ‘Savage’.
    Jun 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – DaBaby’s “Rockstar” has hit the top of the U.S. charts to become the Billboard Hot 100’s 1,104th number one.
It’s the rapper’s first chart-topper and his collaborator Roddy Ricch’s second in a year.
“Rockstar” also sets a new chart record for successive collaborative U.S. number one runs, making it six weeks of six different chart-toppers, all recorded by two stars.

Former number one “Savage”, by Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce Knowles, holds at two, while The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” rises to three, ahead of Doja Cat’s “Say So” and last week’s number one hit, Lady GaGa and Ariana Grande’s “Rain on Me”, which falls to five.

  • Nicki Minaj Fans Convinced That She's Preparing New Album With This Tweet

    Instagram

‘NM5 LYRICS. let’s get Into it,’ writes an excited fan in response to Nicki’s post on the blue bird app, while someone else begs, ‘CAN YOU SHOW US THE ALBUM TOO?’
    Jun 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Nicki Minaj is driving her fans crazy with a new post on her Twitter account. Fans somehow thought that the “Anaconda” hitmaker was teasing lyrics of her upcoming album.
“Showed you how to get a bag now u goin shopping,” so Nicki wrote on Monday, June 8 on the blue bird app. That prompted the Barbz to think that the Young Money rapper hinted at her impending musical return.

Nicki Minaj wrote a cryptic tweet.
“LYRICS?” asked an excited fan. “NM5 LYRICS. let’s get Into it,” added another fan, while someone else begged, “CAN YOU SHOW US THE ALBUM TOO?”
“CHILE WHAT ARE THESE LYRICS FOR? Don’t play with us Ms. Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty !” another user responded. “Drop the song sis we know you on it,” one person added.
“SHE IS TEASING,” said a convinced Barb. One other, meanwhile, wrote, “New lyrics? I like it,” as another user asked the star to “STOP TEASING US DROP THE ALBUM.”
Back in May, it was reported that 6ix9ine (Tekashi69) was prepping a collaboration with Nicki. The report further suggested that the top secret project is now done, with the “Starships” raptress having “already recorded her part” in Los Angeles and “Tekashi did his part” in New York. A source reportedly close to the Trinidad and Tobago-born femcee additionally claimed that Nicki’s traveling to New York to film a video for the new song.
Should the report of the Nicki duet be true, it will mark 6ix9ine’s next collaboration since his early release from prison due to the coronavirus pandemic as it seemed like he’s also gearing up for a collab with Akon. Nicki, meanwhile, recently earned her first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 with Doja Cat’s “Say So (Remix)” which features her.

    Jun 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Mariah Carey made a surprise appearance on the “Schitt’s Creek” cast’s performance of her iconic tune “Hero”, as part of YouTube’s Dear Class of 2020 graduation special on Sunday, June 07.
Dan Levy, his on and off-screen father Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Annie Murphy reprised their roles as the Rose family to share a rendition of the classic song as a thank you to the teachers who helped the 2020 students graduate despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
The quartet was joined by a host of their co-stars, including Dan’s on-screen husband Patrick, played by actor Noah Reid, and Emily Hampshire’s character Stevie Budd.
As the group kicked off their Zoom performance, they made it through to the last line of the song, when Mariah herself jumped on to deliver the last line.
“Moira, darling, I hope you didn’t mind that I jumped in like that,” Carey said, referencing Catherine’s on-screen alter ego, actress Moira Rose. “You all sounded so good that I had to get in on it.”
Clearly stunned at the appearance of his hero, Dan, in character as David Rose, screamed, “I think I’m having a heart attack!”
Mariah then shared her own message to those watching the YouTube special, telling them, “To the students who had to deal with this bleak moment, congratulations on this historic accomplishment. To all the students and teachers, you are so appreciated. And I just want to say, Class of 2020, you made it!”

    Jun 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – The collaboration between Akon and 6ix9ine (Tekashi69) has led to some beefs. In addition to tension between Tory Lanez and Akon, the former is also having some back-and-forth online with Pretty Ricky’s Spectacular.
It started after Tory wrote on his Twitter account on Sunday, June 7, “So what y’all telling me is …. Akon gave the #LockedUpRemix / SAMPLE to someone else !?!?? And not me?!????” That was when Spectacular suggested him to just “steal” the record like he allegedly did before with other tracks.
“you should just stole it like you did Grind On Me and Your Body. Why stop now ….. Just keeping it 2 Virgils,” Spectacular alleged, to which Tory responded, “STOLE WHAT ??!? Actually I BOUGHT the rights from whoever signed u and publishes your music.”
The Canadian rapper continued, “But I guess you weren’t apart of that conversation. go stare in someone eyes and rub on someone thighs and leave me outta this one…. goodnight my black brother.”

  • Akon Incites Fury With New 6ix9ine Collaboration

    Instagram

The ‘Right Now (Na Na Na)’ hitmaker enrages people after the ‘Gooba’ spitter shares a video of him with the veteran artist working on ‘Locked Up Part 2′ in the studio.
    Jun 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Akon has several times defended 6ix9ine for snitching and he really meant what he said. While many hip-hop stars have denounced the former incarcerated rapper, the Senegalese-American singer/songwriter has shown his support for the New York City artist by collaborating with him following his prison release.
On Sunday, June 7, the “FEFE” hitmaker previewed a song they’ve worked on, “Locked Up Part 2”. In an Instagram video, he and the “Sorry, Blame It on Me” singer linked up in a studio, possibly at the former’s secret hideout.
6ix9ine rapped in the clip, “Thinking ’bout the things that I did/ Got me thinking, like, why the f**k I did that?/ Got me wishing that I could take it all back. Fighting with these demons/ Barely even eating/ Barely even sleeping/ This s**t got me tweeking/ Fighting with my lawyers for a better offer/ Just want to see my daughter…”
He hyped up the upcoming song, which is a sequel to Akon’s 2004’s “Locked Up”, as writing in the caption, “LOCKED UP PART 2 IM ON ALBUM MODE … THIS ALBUM GOING CRAZYYYYYYY … @akon.”

Needless to say, the two’s collaboration shocked many, with rapper Ice Billion Berg tweeting, “Akon lost all my respect. I felt like he been looking down on Black Americans and him fucking with the enemy of the culture shows it.”
Another rapper Boskoe 100 commented, “#akon GET OVER HERE . How you go from being locked up to locked in wit a snitch in a rainbow wig? All a da L’s.” Another reacted, “Akon…Black man, what is you doing…? You disgraced all of Senegal for a Mexican in a wig to call you a n***a to your face?? 2020 is showing its whole a** dawg.”
“Zero interest in that Akon/lil buddy video. Please keep that to yourselves,” a fourth critic wrote. Someone else blasted the music veteran, “Akon. You f**ked up BIG TIME! How can you put 69 after what STYLES P DID FOR YOU! He made you street official. That s**t is SO bad!!!”
Meanwhile, Styles P who was featured in the original song refused to be affected by the criticism. “My job is 2 remind you 2 boost the immune system n not get distracted by minor things,” he wrote. “i will always consider Akon a brother but we have not spoke or seen each other In years I don’t know 6’9 meaning all 3 of our paths are different.I live by my code n don’t hold others 2 my code.”
Still, there are fans who are excited for Akon and 6ix9ine’s upcoming release. “Legendary asf,” one commented on the rapper’s post. Another gushed, “This is goin be epic.” Other similar comments read, “Im fliping” and “Can’t wait!”

Kicking off the show, the raptress delivered a sizzling medley of her smash hits, starting with “Big Ole Freak”. She lounged poolside in a neon orange bikini before busting some sexy moves as she moved around her pool.

  • Artist of the Week: Gunna

The ‘Drip Harder’ rapper earns his first No. 1 album on Billboard Hot 200 while introducing his fans to his new persona ‘Wunna’ with the newly-released second studio album.
    Jun 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Gunna is a standout among new young rappers from Atlanta’s hip-hop scene. The 26-year-old rapper carved his path to success through a series of “Drip” mixtapes that he capped off with a debut album “Drip or Drown 2” which peaked at No. 3 on Billboard Hot 200 in 2019.
After successfully shaping up his “Drip” persona, he was keen to introduce his fans to the other side of him that many people didn’t really know. With his sophomore set “Wunna”, he wanted his loyal devotees to meet the “Wealthy Unapologetic N**ga Naturally Authentic.”
He did half of his second studio album in Jamaica while exploring the different scenery. “Gunna is more chill, just the drip god. I don’t really do too much. You really just see me doing more just clothes and music. Wunna, I feel he’s more spontaneous,” he explained in an interview.
Powered with 18 brand new rap tracks that feature the likes of Young Thug, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, and Travis Scott (II), the album chronicled Gunna’s fast-paced life in the past few years from meeting “Argentina” girls in Cali, taking a hot air balloon to enjoy the exotic landscape of Jamaica, dressing up to high-fashion events, stacking up money in his bank account, to doing shows all over the world.
But it’s not just having fun for the rapper. He also talked about “life and things that are deeper.” In one song dedicated to the late Nipsey Hussle, he reflected on his journey to stardom. From “having no cash for gas, stove or heat,” he’s climbing out of poverty to be one of the prominent stars in the rap scene.
The album debuted at the top spot on Billboard Hot 200 with a total of 111,000 album-equivalent units which mostly attributed to the 144 million on-demand streams. Across the pond, it entered the U.K. Albums chart at No. 5, giving the rap star his first top ten album in the country.
Gunna, real name Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, also landed 13 songs on Billboard Hot 100 chart, led by “Dollaz on My Head”. The song entered the singles chart at No. 38, marking his eighth top 40 hit.
Despite all those feats, he was not in a celebratory mood. “It’s hard celebrating a #1 album when the world is Hurting,” he tweeted, seemingly referring to his fellow African-American brothers and sisters marching for Black Lives Matter to fight racial injustice across the country.
