      Johnny Depp Makes Instagram Debut, Covers John Lennon's Song

      The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor has joined Instagram and quickly amassed thousands of followers in mere hours as he shares his rendition of ‘Isolation.’

      AceShowbiz – Johnny Depp has joined Instagram to share a special message for fans affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
      The actor made his debut on the platform on Thursday, April 16, 2020, sharing a shot of himself sitting on an old wooden bench in what appears to be a cave, surrounded by candles and professional lights.
      “Hello everyone… filming something for you now… gimme a minute,” he captioned the shot.

      The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star generated 600,000 followers just three hours after creating the account. A representative for the official account of his band The Hollywood Vampires and member Joe Perry both left comments featuring similar emojis leading fans to speculate the post referenced a future release.
      But a few hours later, Depp was back to share the piece he’d been filming, a long video message, beginning, “Hi everyone, hello to whomever might be out there in ether-land receiving this transmission. This is my first experience within the world of social media. I’ve never done anything like this before. I don’t think I’ve ever really felt any particular reason to, until now.”
      “Yeah, now is the time to open up a dialogue as the threat of this invisible enemy has already caused immeasurable tragedies and enormous damage to people’s lives. People are ill and without care, people are getting sick, fighting for breath and dying at frighteningly high rates.”
      Johnny went on to reference those who have lost their jobs and others living on the streets “with no shelter or option of self-isolating at all”, adding, “So I feel we need to try and help each other through these hard times, these trying times, for those we love, for our community, for ourselves, for the world and for the future.”
      Depp, who is in the middle of a defamation lawsuit he filed against ex-wife Amber Heard which was suspended during the COVID-19 lockdown, concluded his first Instagram message by thanking fans for “your kindness, your unwavering support and your strength over these years. I am touched beyond words.”

      Depp then shared his new version of John Lennon’s “Isolation”, adding “there’s more to come” and noting that he hoped fans would “enjoy our version.” The actor recorded the track with Jeff Beck.

      AceShowbiz – Dua Lipa decision to release her new album during the coronavirus pandemic has brought her closer to her fans.
      The singer decided not to delay “Future Nostalgia”, sticking to the 4 April release date she initially planned, and Dua now believes showing her vulnerable side to listeners during these difficult times was a good choice.
      “This is me going into my celestial beliefs, but it was like, ‘OK, this is just how it’s meant to be,’ ” she tells Elle. “And I am really grateful that the music is out.
      “The way I write my music, I’m always very open, and I allow myself to be vulnerable. And I feel now more than ever that it’s brought me closer to my listeners. I think it’s important to talk about your emotions and to be vulnerable and to show that you’re human.”

      The 24-year-old has been embracing her downtime amid the lockdown, revealing she and boyfriend, Anwar Hadid, have been binging shows and films.

      “Oh my God, I’ve watched so many shows – ‘Ozark’, ‘Tiger King’, ‘The Night Of’, ‘The Outsider’, ‘Servant’… and lots of movies, too,” she shares, adding she and Anwar have also been cooking up a storm, trying to find the upside to the current situation.

      “It’s about making things fun, coming up with different recipes, trying out things that we’ve never done before,” she adds. “Of course Anwar misses his family, and soon we’ll hopefully get to go back and see them… but now that we get all this extra time, we’re just making the most of it. And that’s been really nice. We’re trying to see the bright side.”

      AceShowbiz – On one of these days, someone may come up with a new collaboration with Tekashi69 (6ix9ine), who was just released from prison, for clout. However, Lil Mosey makes sure that it will not be him.
      During a recent online interview with Los Angeles’ Real 92.3, the “Blueberry Faygo” rapper shut down the possibilty of him working together with the rainbow-colored hair rapper. “Nah, you ain’t see me around that b***h,” so the 18-year-old insisted.
      “Nah. F**k no,” the Seattle rapper said. “If I snitched, no one would f**k with me. That s**t dead regardless, f**k that n***a.”

      People reacted badly to his remarks, but surprisingly the hate comments were mostly directed toward Mosey. “Who said 69 was finna work wit dis n***a tho,” one fan wrote in the comment section. Echoing the sentiment, one other thought that “6ix9ine wouldn’t even wanna work with him anyway lmao.”
      Another naysayer chimed in, “Tekashi wouldn’t work with him in the first place, snitching beside.” Pointing out that the possibility for 6ix9ine to ever collab with another artist, someone said, “I mean most of 69 songs are singles he wouldn’t give a f**k.”
      Meanwhile, someone thought that Mosey didn’t have any right to criticize 69 for snitching because he “would snitch in the same situation.” Alluding that s/he was indifferent about the whole thing, one user commented, “Who gives af what lil mosey thinks at a time like this,” with someone simply stating, “Me >Lil Mosey.”
      While Tekashi has yet to respond to this matter, rumors have it that the rapper is currently working on two albums, a Spanish project and an English album, following his release from jail. Despite his snitching scandal, it seems like people still have big curiosity as to who will be included in his upcoming album and which outlet that will snag his first post-prison interview.

      The “Jesus Walks” hitmaker has revealed he seriously considered turning his back on music following his conversion to Christianity after a bout of alcoholism, but a child gave him faith that his rapping could be inspiring.
      “I was thinking of not rapping again, because I rapped for the devil so long that I didn’t even know how to rap for God,” he tells GQ magazine. “Then one of my pastors told me, ‘My son just said that he would want a rap album about Jesus from Kanye West.’ ”
      “He didn’t say, ‘Kanye West, you should do this,’ or ‘You need to do this.’ He just told me something that a child said. And that one thing made the difference.”

      Kanye bounced back with the album “Jesus Is King” last year 2019, which helped him conquer the Christian charts.
      In the interview, the rapper also addresses his issues with alcohol, revealing he often started his day with a vodka.
      “One day I was in my office working on the couture collection, and there was some Grey Goose in the fridge and I was just going to get a daytime drink, and I looked and thought, ‘Devil, you’re not going to beat me today,’ ” he explains. “That one statement is like a tattoo.”
      “I haven’t had a drink since I realised I needed to take it day by day, but I never owned up, or was even told, ‘Hey, you’re a functioning alcoholic.’ People have called me a crazy person, people have called me everything – but not a functioning alcoholic. And I would be drinking orange juice and Grey Goose in the morning.”

      AceShowbiz – Shania Twain has scrapped the remaining pre-summer dates of her 2020 “Let’s Go!” residency in Las Vegas due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
      The singer has cancelled her concert dates between 20 May and 6 June and will now resume the residency in August.
      “I’m looking forward to returning to Vegas later in the year with my dates from August through to December, but for now, it’s time to stay home,” she says in a statement.

      The “Let’s Go!” residency at Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater kicked off in December (19). She previously postponed her March dates.

      The singer released “Motivation” last year 2019 as the first single from her long-awaited solo album, after girl band Fifth Harmony split up in 2018.
      While there had been concerns the coronavirus pandemic would delay the release, Normani told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper she’s taking the lyrics of the girls’ chart-topping hit “Work From Home” to heart and laying down vocals while she’s in self-isolation.
      “I have all the gear and my vocal producer is actually here in L.A. (Los Angeles) too,” she said.
      Explaining the two communicate via FaceTime as they remain in lockdown, she added, “Honestly, it’s not that different to us being in the studio, because typically I’ll be in the recording booth and he’ll be in the engineering room anyway.”
      The singer, who rose to fame on “The X Factor U.S.” in 2012, when she was placed in the hit group, went on to gush of the project, “It’s my baby, it’s my first album and I am never going to get that back.”
      “I feel like I have worked so hard up until this point – I deserve to be happy,” she smiled.

      GaGa is curating Saturday’s April 18, 2020 two-hour global TV special, arranged in partnership with officials from Global Citizen and the World Health Organisation, and had already secured remote appearances by Paul McCartney, Elton John, Chris Martin, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, and Keith Urban among many others.
      Now she has added Swift, Lopez, Dion, and Smith to the bill, alongside Alicia Keys, Usher, Pharrell Williams, and pop couple Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello.
      Also making cameos during the broadcast will be Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Matthew McConaughey, Victoria Beckham, Lupita Nyong’o, LL Cool J, Amy Poehler, and Awkwafina.
      “One World: Together at Home”, co-hosted by comedians Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon, will air simultaneously across the main U.S. TV networks from 8 P.M. EST, and be livestreamed on various digital platforms, as well as the Global Citizen Instagram and Facebook pages.
      Global Citizen bosses are also putting on a six-hour preshow streaming event from 2 P.M. EST on Saturday, with artists like John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Sheryl Crow, Lady Antebellum, Charlie Puth, Hozier, Michael Buble, Annie Lennox, Common, The Killers, Luis Fonsi, Adam Lambert, and new mum Maren Morris set to join in from isolation.
      Others participating in the lead up to the main gig include Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Don Cheadle, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding, Ke$ha, Heidi Klum, Billy Ray Cyrus, James McAvoy, Jessie J, and Becky G.
      Although GaGa has already helped to raise over $35 million for coronavirus relief efforts behind the scenes, she recently made it clear the “One World: Together at Home” main show is not designed to be a telethon.
      Instead, she wants viewers watching in isolation to simply enjoy the performances, and “celebrate the heroic efforts of community health workers, and to support the World Health Organization in the global fight to end COVID-19.”

      AceShowbiz – One Direction’s split was caused by “tiredness more than anything,” according to singer Liam Payne.
      The British boyband went on an extended hiatus in 2015 following the departure of Zayn Malik from the group. And in an interview on Jordan Stephens’ Spotify podcast “Killing It”, Liam admitted that the boys’ hectic schedules and lack of sleep were partly responsible with how things came to an end.
      “We all just got on with it, you know, it was just a case of this is your job and this is what you do and then you just slowly spiralled into this thing,” he explained. “I mean, more than anything for us, I think the danger zone is in the band. And actually what probably caused the demise of it, towards the end, was just the tiredness more than anything. Everyone makes stupid decisions when they’re tired.”
      Liam’s revelation comes after bandmate Niall Horan previously told Britain’s The Daily Telegraph newspaper, “We got tired… just tired out. Five albums, five tours, in five years. We were all knackered.”
      Elsewhere on “Killing It”, Liam reflected on being rejected from “The X Factor U.K.” as a 14-year-old – two years before he returned and was put into a group that eventually became One Direction.
      “People would ridicule me in the street and all sorts when I was, like, 15 or 16,” he recalled. “I once went in McDonald’s when I was turning 16 and I went up to order my thing, went to sit down with the girl I was with at the time and a group of lads at the top of the stairs were like, ‘X Factor reject!’ ”
      “Then the whole restaurant was looking at me. It was a really hollow moment, that was like, ‘Oh right, now I know what it’s like to lose fame.’ ”
      Fans are convinced the group is set to reunite for its 10th anniversary later this year 2020, after Liam, Niall, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson all re-followed former member Zayn Malik on Twitter – five years after his sensational departure from the band.
