    AceShowbiz – Opera superstar Andrea Bocelli wowed fans worldwide on Easter Sunday (April 12) with a special solo concert streamed live online from the empty Duomo cathedral in Milan, Italy.
    The blind tenor staged the show, titled “Andrea Bocelli: Music for Hope”, with just cathedral organist Emanuele Vianelli, singing tracks including “Ave Maria”, “Sancta Maria”, “Panis Angelicus” and “Domine Deus”.
    Prior to the event, the artist had expressed a wish for his music to bring people together to pray for Earth’s healing amid the coronavirus pandemic, which has forced his native Italy into a national lockdown, and as he wrapped up the set outside the historic venue with a cover of John Newton’s “Amazing Grace”, viewers flocked to social media to share their joy at Bocelli’s flawless performance.
    Among those who tuned in for the unique gig was Kim Kardashian, who gushed on Twitter, “A prayer for our world from @AndreaBocelli,” while Hugh Jackman posted, “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you @AndreaBocelli A tremendous gift and exactly what we needed. #AmazingGrace #HappyEaster.”

    Bocelli had been invited by city officials to hold the livestreamed concert to bring hope to his fellow Italians, who are currently under full lockdown until 3 May.

    More than 102,000 cases of infection have so far been confirmed in Italy, where over 19,800 people have died as a result of COVID-19.

    The album debuted at No. 10 on Billboard 200 chart, with Will Smith praising Joyner for paying tribute to him in the music video for “Will”. “Joyner Lucas! That joint is crazy! I’m humbled and honored,” he said. “It has been my intention from day one to go into the world positive energy, and use my creations to inspire and elevate and elevate and empower.”

    AceShowbiz – The 2020 Burning Man festival has been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
    The annual gathering of artists and tech enthusiasts in the Nevada desert, which was due to take place from August 30 to September 7, 2020 and culminates with the burning of a wicker man effigy, was due to take place later this year but will instead go totally virtual for the first time ever amid the global Covid-19 pandemic.
    CEO Marian Goodell explained the decision in a video message, telling fans, “After much listening, discussion, and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision not to build Black Rock City in 2020.”
    “Given the painful reality of COVID-19, one of the greatest global challenges of our lifetimes, we believe this is the right thing to do.”
    She continued, “Yes, we are heartbroken. We know you are too. In 2020 we need human connection and Immediacy more than ever. But public health and the well-being of our participants, staff, and neighbours in Nevada are our highest priorities.”
    Explaining the new online format for the event, dubbed The Multiverse, Goodell said, “We look forward to welcoming you to Virtual Black Rock City 2020.”
    “We’re not sure how it’s going to come out; it will likely be messy and awkward with mistakes. It will also likely be engaging, connective, and fun.”
    Refunds are available for those who purchased tickets, with the organisation encouraging fans to donate a percentage of the money back to the company.

    AceShowbiz – Rocker Neil Young has revamped the video for his 2019 song “Shut It Down” due to its poignancy during the coronavirus pandemic.
    The veteran musician originally released the tune as part of his “Colorado” album, but he’s since been inspired by fans’ messages requesting an updated video for the track, with the help of his actress wife Daryl Hannah.
    “Shut It Down 2020” features clips from the original promo of Young and his Crazy Horse band performing the track at Colorado’s Studio in the Clouds, interspersed with footage of people around the world in the midst of the health crisis.
    Among the scenes shown include hospital staff hard at work, people wearing face masks while venturing out in public, boxes of medical supplies being delivered in England, and empty New York City subway stations and streets – cut together with footage of packed beaches in Florida.

    On the song, Young warns, “People tryin’ to save this earth / from an ugly death / Have to shut the whole system down / all around the planet.”
    In a statement accompanying the video release, Young expresses his gratitude for those on the frontlines of the pandemic.
    “These are uncertain times. I wish you all the best as you care for our sick, the young and old who we love so much,” he writes.
    “Sending the best wishes to all the health care and government workers all over the world, to all the scientists who will learn and share with us the best ways to ensure survival in our world challenged.”
    Highlighting the need to continue social distancing in a bid to slow the spread of COVID-19, he adds, “Let’s all work together and stay positive that we will find a way.”
    “With love to all, in all walks of life, all political persuasions, all colors. We will succeed working together for the good of our world as we are here together, hanging in the balance of nature.”
    Young has been keeping busy while in self-isolation – he has been serving up acoustic renditions of rare songs from his archives in his “Fireside Sessions” online series, shot by Hannah at their Telluride home.

    The band asked the rock star if they could work on a quirky rendition of “Don’t Stand So Close to Me”, calling the song a fitting anthem for quarantine, self-isolation and social-distancing during the coronavirus pandemic, for Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show”.
    Sting not only agreed to let Questlove and his bandmates perform the track with Fallon on “The Tonight Show” ‘s “At Home” edition on Thursday night, April 9, 2020, he joined them, playing a jar of pasta before switching to guitar.
