Billie Eilish on Coronavirus Pandemic: Don't Panic, but Don't Be Stupid

    WENN/Phil Lewis

Deciding to reschedule the remaining dates on her ‘Where Do We Go?’ tour, the ‘No Time To Die’ singer stresses that the trend for ‘social distancing’ is ‘everyone’s responsibility.’
    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Billie Eilish has scrapped all remaining dates of her current tour, while urging fans not to be “stupid” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The 18-year-old “No Time To Die” singer took to Twitter on Monday, March 16 to follow up her decision to postpone some shows last week, revealing that all her remaining “Where Do We Go?” North American tour dates would be rescheduled.

Billie Eilish announced that her upcoming tour was rescheduled due to Coronavirus.
She made a more personal announcement on her Instagram Story timeline, telling followers to pay attention to guidelines from officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“Don’t panic, but don’t be stupid,” she wrote. “It (coronavirus) is a really big deal right now and it is not a joke. I know because a lot of us haven’t seen it with our eyes – what it’s been doing and who it’s been affecting – it’s hard to understand that it’s real. But it really is real, and I’ve seen a lot of young people out in the world, all over the place, going to the club or going to the beach, just going out and hanging out. It’s really irresponsible.”
She went on to note that the trend for ‘social distancing’ is “everyone’s responsibility” because people should consider the older, weaker people around them.
She also suggested fans stay inside as much possible and resist the temptation to buy up basic goods and toiletries in bulk: “Don’t panic, there’s enough supplies for people – don’t hoard things.”

Eilish joins a long list of big music names, who have been forced to cancel dates and entire tours due to the COVID-19 crisis. These include Queen, Foo Fighters, Green Day, and Madonna.
And she’s not the only A-list pop star urging followers to take health guidelines seriously – Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Bebe Rexha have also taken to social media to encourage fans to stay home and self isolate.

Lady GaGa Admits to Thinking About Canning 'Stupid Love' After Leak

    Instagram

Aside from sharing her thought on the online leak of her new single, the ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker opens up about spending two days in the California desert to film its music video.
    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lady GaGa almost threw away months of preparation after a demo of her single “Stupid Love” leaked online.
The singer dropped the track, the lead single from her upcoming album “Chromatica”, last month but, after the tune leaked online in January, GaGa almost canned the track altogether.
“There was a minute where me and my manager, Bobby, were talking, ‘Do we change the single?’,” she said. “We’d just spent months and months developing this video and choreography. And I said, ‘Nope!’ ”
“You know why? Because the song, when it’s mixed, mastered and finished with the visuals, and everything I have to say about it – when all those things come together at once, that will be the art piece I’m making. Not a leak.”
Alongside the release, GaGa dropped an accompanying music video, shot entirely on an iPhone, featuring Gaga as a warrior leader, attempting to unite various tribes.
The star recalled shooting the clip with 50 dancers for two days straight in the California desert, before reflecting: “The damn thing lasts three-and-a-half minutes!”
“I want you to imagine people dancing for eight to 10 hours straight,” she explained. “I watched them work so hard – the blood and sweat. Scrapes from dancing in the desert or getting poked in the eye from a stud that knocked them in the face. They’re breathing in sand, they can’t see. The conditions alone were ridiculous.”
    [embedded content]
“I told the dancers before we left for the desert, ‘This might be the hardest thing you’ve ever done, and if it’s not, I did it wrong. But you can do it, and when you look back on this time, you’ll remember how strong you are.’ ”

Charli XCX Muses Music Industry Shift Caused by Coronavirus Pandemic in 'Quarantine Diary'

    Instagram

Secluding herself at home amid the spread of COVID-19, the ‘Boom Clap’ singer shares tweets about the thoughts she has been having while stuck at home during the crisis.
    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Charli XCX is penning a “quarantine” or “self-isolation” diary as she secludes herself at home during the coronavirus pandemic.
With concerts cancelled across the world, the star has been taking advice to avoid social contact with others to avoid spreading the COVID-19 disease that has swept the world since the beginning of the year.
To make the most of her time alone she has tweeted out what she called her “quarantine diary” of thoughts she has been having while stuck at home during the crisis – beginning day one on Sunday, March 15.
“Being a workaholic in quarantine is quite stressful,” she explained. “Yes, I’m doing as much as I can at home – creating moodboards, planning out ideas for videos, thinking about lyric changes in new songs,” but admitting she felt, “a bit purposeless.”

Musing on the way the world has come to a standstill and how it affects her mental health, she added, “As so many things get cancelled and a lot of things come to a halt around me, I start wondering – what if this change is permanent – or at least semi-permanent.”

The star, who later clarified she wasn’t officially in quarantine in another tweet, but practicing self-isolation and social distancing, went on to fret about the effects of the coronavirus crisis on her mental health and the music industry as a whole.

“Quarantine is also making me think about the possibilities of a shift within my industry. I’m talking extremes here – coz maybe this will all be over sooner than we hope – but if it isn’t – what will happen to live shows? Will the idea of gathering together at a concert or a club or a party become more and more distant??”

The “Boom Clap” hitmaker continued to wonder if live streams will replace gigs and TikTok surpass music videos and marketing, before promising to share more of her thoughts with her fans when she continued her diary.

2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards Scraps March 29 Ceremony As Result of Coronavirus

The music awards show has followed in the footsteps of Canada’s Juno Awards, the GLAAD Media Awards, the Razzie Awards, the Kids’ Choice Awards and the ACM Awards.
    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – The iHeartRadio Music Awards has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and will not take place later this month.
The music awards bash, hosted by Usher, was set to take place on March 29 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, but has been postponed as venue chiefs have announced they will be closed until at least the end of the month.
In a statement posted on Twitter, organisers and Fox network bosses wrote that they are postponing the show until an unspecified later date.
“The safety of our guests, employees, artists and partners is our main priority,” their statement reads. “iHeartMedia and Fox will plan to reschedule at the appropriate time and will provide more information and relevant updates as they become available. Refunds are being issued to ticketed guests.”
The spread of the virus across the world has caused the postponement or cancellation of prizegivings including Canada’s Juno Awards, the GLAAD Media Awards, the Razzie Awards, the Kids’ Choice Awards, and the ACM Awards.
Major gatherings in Los Angeles and other parts of California, one of the U.S. states hit hardest by the outbreak, have also been banned by government officials.

Performers at the event were set to include Usher, Halsey, Lizzo and Justin Bieber, with Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Lizzo, Post Malone, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Ed Sheeran among the nominees.

Shania Twain 'Very Proud' of Brad Pitt Despite Iconic Lyrics in 'That Don't Impress Me Much'

    WENN/Avalon/Adriana M. Barraza

Speaking of her 1997 hit song that is still so popular more than 20 years after its release, the ‘You’re Still the One’ singer admits, ‘I didn’t realize it would go this far or be memorable.’
    Mar 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Shania Twain has reversed her view of Brad Pitt, after famously singing the actor didn’t “impress” her “much.”
Back in 1997, the Canadian star dropped her massive hit “That Don’t Impress Me Much”, which included the lyric, “Okay, so you’re Brad Pitt – that don’t impress me much!”
However, Shania, now 54, has had time to re-think the line, and she told Britain’s The Daily Telegraph she is now a huge fan of the 56-year-old Oscar winner.
“I must say I’m very impressed by Brad’s wonderful career,” she gushed, praising his role in director Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” which earned Pitt the gong last month (February).
“He’s been getting some great accolades recently, so I’m very proud of Brad,” Shania added. “I hope he takes it (old lyric) with the sense of humour that was intended.”
The “Up!” singer added she’s amazed her old hit is still so popular more than 20 years after its release, telling the publication: “I like to write with a sense of humour… I didn’t realise it would go this far or be memorable. I’m thrilled that reference has lasted the test of time.”

Jade Thirwall on Little Mix's Split From Simon Cowell's Label: That Really F**ked Us Over

    WENN/Michael Wright/Instar

Describing the transition period as ‘troublesome,’ the bandmate of Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock assures that her group are now ‘in a good place.’
    Mar 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jade Thirlwall has opened up about Little Mix’s “troublesome” split from Simon Cowell’s Syco record label.
The four-piece British group called time on their working relationship with Syco during the recording of their fifth album “LM5”, and moved over to RCA. The decision came after the girls reportedly fell out with label boss Cowell, and Jade touched on the rumours as she discussed the move during an interview with Britain’s The Sun newspaper.
Asked why there wasn’t much female empowerment in their recent music videos, Jade replied: “We did a little bit but we had a switch of labels during the LM5 process and that really f**ked us over.”
“It was harder to put all our creativity out there in the way we would have liked. The LM5 album was very heavily (focussed)on women’s rights and our experiences in the industry. We’re sort of cruising at the moment. That period in our careers was quite troublesome.”
But now Jade and her bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock are in a much better position, and are currently hard at work on their next album.
“I feel like now we’re in a good place — we’re with RCA and we’re working on a new record, which is really exciting. We’ve learnt to really stick to our guns and do what we believe in,” Jade smiled.

Donald Glover's New Album Taken Down 12 Hours After Surprise Release

    WENN

The untitled, 12-track album, which includes a collaboration with Ariana Grande, was streamed on the ‘Atlanta’ star’s website on Sunday, March 15 before it is removed.
    Mar 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Donald Glover’s surprise new album could no longer be found online. Less than 24 hours after the 12-track record was made available for listening through a website called DonaldGloverPresents.com, the “This Is America” hitmaker’s untitled project has been mysteriously taken down.
The release of the album itself was first brought to awareness by a Twitter user who simply tweeted, “Donald Glover Presents donaldgloverpresents.com.” It was a reference to the website where the tracks were played on loop as well as the title of Glover’s partnership with Adidas. It was retweeted by his manager Fam Rothstein, whose account and retweet have since been deleted.
Dropped on Sunday, March 15, Glover’s new album includes previously released tracks like 2018’s “Feels Like Summer”, 2019’s “Algorythm” and “Warlords” which the “Atlanta” star performed live at the 2019 Coachella. It also features an unconfirmed collaboration with Ariana Grande in a tune titled “Time” and with 21 Savage in “Vibrate”, which is also believed to have also featured SZA.
One song from Glover’s new album has reportedly also included an appearance by one of his sons. In the outro of “Don’t Worry About Tomorrow (The Violence)”, the 36-year-old who is also known as Childish Gambino could be heard asking, “Who do you love?/ Me?” To which, his son replied, “Yeah,” before adding, “Mom and Hulalo. And Santa/ And I Love-and I love Roland/ And I love myself.”
The LP, which came a little over three years after the release of “Awaken, My Love!”, included such titles as “Little Foot Big Foot Get Out The Way”, “Why Go To The Party”, “Under the Sun”, “We Are We Are We Are”, “Beautiful” and “Sweet Thang / Thank You”.
Donald Glover Presents website has yet to provide information regarding the takedown or the album itself. Still, a black and white illustration of a large crowd gathering together outdoors was released when the album was played on loop in the website prior to the removal.
