Of its first-week sum, 126,000 were in album sales.
Due to this, Justin has become the youngest solo artist to achieve seven No. 1 albums on the chart. The title was previously held by Elvis Presley, who logged his seventh leader of the chart when he was 26 years old. Furthermore, “Changes” marks the third-largest week of 2020 for an album after Eminem’s new album “Music to Be Murdered By” and Halsey’s “Manic”.
Following Justin’s “Changes” is another new release. A Boogie Wit da Hoodie’s “Artist 2.0” debuts at No. 2 with 111,000 equivalent album units. It additionally becomes the most-streamed album of the week due to its heavy streaming activity. Of the starting sum, 106,000 were in SEA units. The No. 3 spot in this week’s chart is also occupied by a newcomer, Tame Impala’s “The Slow Rush”. Racking up 110,000 units, it marks the band’s highest-charting album ever.
Last week’s chart-topper, Roddy Ricch’s “Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial” has to give up its top spot to No. 4 with 70,000 units, while Monsta X makes their Billboard 200 debut with “All About Luv” that debuts at No. 5. In its first week, the album sold 50,000 units.
Post Malone’s “Hollywood’s Bleeding” falls to No. 6 with 50,000 units, followed by Billie Eilish’s “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” that dips to No. 7 with 44,000 units. Late rap star Pop Smoke’s “Meet the Woo, V.2”, on the other hand, fails to climb the chart even though its sales see an increase following his death. Racking up 40,000 units, it descends to No. 8.
Rounding out the top ten for this week’s chart are Eminem’s “Music to Be Murdered By” that slips to No. 9 with 39,000 and Halsey’s “Manic”. The latter effort falls to No. 10 with 31,000 units.

Eric Church Makes His Collaborators 'Uncomfortable' During the Making of New Album

    WENN/Judy Eddy

The ‘Hell on the Heart’ crooner compares the making of his upcoming studio installment to the horror movie ‘The Shining’ because he wants to do ‘something nuts.’
    Feb 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Eric Church purposely made his collaborators “uncomfortable” while they worked on his upcoming album.
The country music star is putting the finishing touched on the follow-up to 2018’s “Desperate Man”, and during a Q&A with radio personality Lon Helton during Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday, February 20, 2020, how opened up on his unusual working method.
“I felt like it was time to do something nuts,” he said, describing how he took up residency in a restaurant converted into a studio in Banner Elk, North Carolina.
“The goal was to write and record 28 songs in 28 days. I’d write a song in the morning, we’d cut it that night,” he explained. “We removed all the barriers. Chase that as hard as you can, move on. For me, it’s as far out there as I have gotten.”
The “Hell on the Heart” hitmaker said he immersed himself in the isolation, describing the situation as, “kind of like (horror movie) The Shining,” in which a frustrated writer seeks out inspiration by taking a caretaker’s job in an isolated mountain resort.
“Looking back at what came out of it, everyone needed to be uncomfortable. The writers had no clue what they were in for. All that is what made it great.”
The new album follows a string of guest appearances from the star, including the Keith Urban collaboration “We Were”, and Luke Combs’ new single “Does to Me”.

Sturgill Simpson Makes Costly and Unmarketable Album to Be Dropped by His Label

    Facebook

In a desperate attempt to get released from his contract with Elektra Records, the country music singer purposely makes a costly album and then refuses to promote it.
    Feb 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Sturgill Simpson has challenged Elektra Records bosses to drop him from their label after he deliberately released an unmarketable record.
The outspoken country star released “Sound & Fury” last year 2019, which only reached number 12 in the U.S. Billboard 200 despite being accompanied by a costly Netflix anime film.
In an interview with the Uproxx website, Simpson revealed relations between him and his record company have broken down, and that he embarked on the costly project in the hope chiefs would drop him.
“I don’t talk to the record company,” he said. “It’s really that simple. Or, maybe if you don’t want to be on a record label anymore, you make a record they can’t market, then you get them to spend a million bucks on an animation film and refuse to promote it, and leave them holding this giant un-recouped debt. Maybe the bean counters will make a decision for me.”
Simpson went on to say that he believes he can put out a record more successfully himself, adding: “I can go back to just doing it myself better than they do. That’s what I’ve learned. Because they don’t know what the f**k to do with me.”
Confirming he wants to part ways, he added, “I’m done. I’m done. Unless they drop me, I’m done. I’m not going to give them anything ever again, so I guess I’m done.”
Although a commercial disappointment, “Sound & Fury” received rave reviews.

Ozzy Osbourne Pulled Out of His Misery While Making His New Album

    WENN

The Black Sabbath rocker is keen to return to the studio following the release of ‘Ordinary Man’ because working on an album prevents him from wallowing in misery.
    Feb 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ozzy Osbourne is already planning on returning to the studio to record the follow-up to his new album “Ordinary Man”, despite his failing health.
The metal legend has been struggling with injury and illness since battling pneumonia and suffering a fall at his home last February 2019, and last month revealed he had been living with Parkinson’s disease.
Although his health struggles forced him to postpone his upcoming “No More Tours 2” trek earlier this month, February 2020, he has debuted his new record, “Ordinary Man”, a collaboration with producer Andrew Watt – who he plans to return to the studio with imminently.
“I’m starting another one next month,” he told British music website NME, but also expressed his fear of touring, which he doesn’t “like to think about” because he “can’t even f**king walk properly yet.”
Ozzy has credited the new album with pulling him out of a downward spiral caused by his health woes – and thanked the producer, and rapper Post Malone, who got them together by asking him to appear on his track “Take What You Want”.
“I was feeling sorry for myself, miserable and in f**king agony,” Ozzy remembers. “I’ve never been laid up for a year in my life and still been in so much pain at the end of it, but Andrew Watt and f**king Post Malone and my daughter Kelly got me going in the right direction.”
“If it’s not a big hit that’s fine, but this album is quite possibly one of the most important albums I’ve ever made because it saved my life.”
“Ordinary Man” debuted on Friday, February 21, 2020.

    Instagram

Wolfgang Van Halen is gearing to launch his solo music career as he scores a major record deal after previously playing bass for his rocker father’s band.
    Feb 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Eddie Van Halen’s musician son Wolfgang has landed a record deal to launch himself as a solo star.
Wolfgang has been playing bass with his rocker dad onstage as a member of his band Van Halen, but now the 28 year old, whose mother is actress Valerie Bertinelli, is preparing to step out on his own.
He has signed a deal with bosses at Explorer1 Music Group to release his debut solo album, which he is in the “final stages” of recording with the help of producer Michael ‘Elvis’ Baskette at Van Halen’s 5150 Studios in California.
In a statement obtained by Billboard, Wolfgang declares, “It’s been a long time coming and i can’t wait for everyone to hear what i’ve been working on.”
Explorer1’s CEO, Paul Woolnough, adds, “While I knew it was going to be something special, when I was first invited to the studio, nothing prepared me for the quality, uniqueness and maturity of the songs that blasted out of the monitors.”
“It’s an absolute honor to be working with Wolfgang and his team and being part of the next chapter in the Van Halen family legacy.”
No further details surrounding the project’s release have been announced.
Wolfgang, who began playing the drums at the age of nine and the guitar at 12, first joined his dad onstage for Van Halen’s Reunion tour of 2007 and 2008, and went on to feature on their albums “A Different Kind of Truth” and “Tokyo Dome Live in Concert”.
He is also a former member of rockers Tremonti.

Dwyane Wade Gives Gabrielle Union Sweet Shoutout on First Rap Song 'Season Ticket Holder'

    [embedded content]

On the Rick Ross collaboration, the former basketball player also brags about his three-time NBA champion title by rhyming, ‘Three rings on this finger, yeah that boy was a winner.’
    Feb 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Dwyane Wade has given a personal touch to his rap debut. The retired NBA player’s first collaboration with Rick Ross titled “Season Ticket Holder” was released at midnight on Friday, February 21, uncovering a sweet shoutout to his wife of more than five years, Gabrielle Union.
“My life is a film and Gab’s the lead,” the 38-year-old ex-Miami Heat star spitted his line about the former “America’s Got Talent” judge with whom he shares daughter Kaavia James together. “She’s so precious to me as the air that I breathe.”
Aside from declaring his love for his 47-year-old wife, Wade expressed his affection for Miami. “Ni**a I got my own county,” he sang as he referred to when Miami-Dade County transformed temporarily into Miami-Wade County in 2010. “Listen, the love of the city has been crazy, man, I appreciate it all/ Thanks for giving my own county.”
Going by D. Wade moniker in the single, the 13-time All-Star additionally bragged about his triple NBA championship titles. “Three rings on his finger, yeah, that boy was a winner,” he rhymed in the rap track. “Man listen, we put on for the city, sixteen years/ Five finals, three rings, we put those trophies over here.”
Wade first hinted about his collaboration with Rick Ross on Tuesday, February 18 during an interview on “Good Morning America”. The day after, he unveiled the name and artwork of the single on Instagram. “A lil something for Miami-Wade County,” he captioned the post which also named Raphael Saadiq and former Miami Heat teammate Udonis Haslem as collaborators.

In an interview with GQ magazine, Wade opened up about how he ended up collaborating with Ross for the single. “Ross came over to my house shortly after I decided to come back for another year, and we were having a meeting about a shoe collab that I wanted to do with Li-Ning,” he began recalling. “I wanted it to incorporate the city of Miami. We finished the meeting and Ross said, ‘D, I’m gonna need you to jump on a track.’ ”
“…I was like, ‘You know what man? Alright,’ ” he continued. ” ‘Let’s see what the lyrics can be like, and what the beat is like, and we’ll go from there.’ Eventually it got to the point where I realized, this isn’t about me trying to act like a rapper; this is more so me talking about some moments in my life and having a little fun.”
