    Grammy Bosses Blasted for Snubbing Naya Rivera and Nick Cordero From 'In Memoriam'

    The Recording Academy has landed in hot water for excluding the ‘Glee’ alum and the Broadway actor from the tribute section during this year’s Grammy Awards over the weekend.

    AceShowbiz – Fans of late singer/actress Naya Rivera and Broadway star Nick Cordero were left outraged after they were left out of the Grammys’ In Memoriam tribute on Sunday (14Mar21).
    The former “Glee” star died aged 33 after accidentally drowning during a boating trip with her young son Josey, five, last July (20) at Lake Piru in California.
    During her lifetime, Naya received two Grammy Awards nominations as part of the “Glee” cast – for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” (“Glee” cast version) in 2011 and Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media for “Glee: The Music, Volume 4” in 2012.
    However, fans were quick to notice the star, who played Santana Lopez on the hit Fox show, was snubbed during the segment, and took to social media to share their disappointment.
    “The fact that they didn’t honor Naya Rivera on screen who was not only a solo singer, song writer, but was a two time Grammy nominee,” penned one user. “She truly had a powerhouse voice and was a heroic mother. @RecordingAcad should be ashamed.”

    “So we just supposed to act like the #GRAMMYs didn’t forget about this perfect angel? They have some explaining to do!! I know I can’t be the only one upset,” added a second person while a third noted, “I didn’t watch the grammy’s but they’re disgusting for not giving a tribute to Naya Rivera.”
    Other social media users pointed out Naya’s name was mentioned online but did not appear on TV, but insisted, “Idc (I don’t care) if there is a 1,000 name list on the #GRAMMYs website.”
    Fans were also furious over Nick Cordero’s absence from the memoriam, after he died aged 41 in July, 2020 following a battle with coronavirus.
    “Why did they not include Nick Cordero in that tribute or Naya Rivera whose death had such an impact? Grammys do better,” wrote one user while a second added, “Pardon my French but where the hell was Nick Cordero in the memoriam!”
    “You can sing a Broadway song for the memoriam but you can’t include the Broadway actor who suffered from Covid? What the actual hell.”
    “They shoulda honoured Nick Cordero in the memorial section if they can nominate Broadway performers, they can honor them (sic),” insisted a third.

The rapper recently did an interview to promote his upcoming album “Detroit 2”, and at one point during the chat, he set the record straight on his infamous song “IDFWU” that many people believed was a diss towards Naya Rivera. Thus, when he denied he was dissing his ex, people were fuming.
      During the interview, Sean was asked whether he felt any “regret” in regards to the 2015 single. In response, he said, “That’s a tough question to answer because I’m still processing a lot of that. I don’t feel comfortable talking about it because I want to respect her. She’s made such an impact on people, and she’s done so many great things in her life and her career that it was hurtful to even have that [song] be associated with her.”
      Denying the record was a diss towards Naya, Sean continued, “I truly made the song and played it for her. She knew about it, and she liked it. We had a breakup that was very public, and we were young and we forgave each other and moved on from that. If I would have known something this tragic would have happened, I would have never made the song.”
      Soon after the interview was made public, people were accusing him of lying as they pointed out that Naya once revealed in her book that she begged him not to release the song. “bro, big sean bring this back today in a interview. He said lies and s**t about naya, the only wrong persons is him,” one person said. “So sick because he didn’t even have to say s**t. You just went out of your way to LIE. On someone thats dead and can’t defend or call you out for it. All sorts of disgusting. F**k big Sean for real,” another blasted him.
      “big sean is so obsessed with naya, he needs to lie and talk about her to get clout for his new album lol, stan naya rivera,” someone else commented, while one other wrote, “big sean why lie for the tabloids omg don’t you have a f**king girlfriend as we speak??!?!?! take her out to dinner go start a family take a yoga class with but don’t lie in naya’s face..”

      AceShowbiz – Rachel Zegler, the star of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming “West Side Story” remake, has dedicated her version of the song Naya Rivera performed on “Glee” to the late actress.
      Zegler has shared a cover of the song “Valerie”, revealing she had a vivid dream about the tragic star as she was recording the Amy Winehouse tune.
      “Ihe day i recorded this cover i had a dream about naya rivera and in the dream she laughed and just said ‘I’m doing okay.’ i woke up in tears and remembered how she killed this song time and time again – this is for her, just as much as it’s for amy, and for you all,” the teenager tweeted.

      “I tend to have dreams about folks after they have passed on, and always take it as a sign that they are safe. if you love naya like i do, i hope you find comfort in this the way i did.”
      Rachel will play Maria in “West Side Story”.
      Naya lost her life in a boating accident last month (Jul20).

      AceShowbiz – Naya Rivera’s will be featured as a guest judge in an upcoming episode of Netflix’s baking competition show, “Sugar Rush”.
      The late “Glee” actress, who was laid to rest on Thursday (30Jul20), will feature on season three of the show, for her final filmed appearance, Netflix bosses have confirmed. The season drops on the streaming service at midnight Friday.
      Naya filmed her appearance on “Sugar Rush” in February – weeks before Hollywood shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic in March – and the episode will be dedicated to the late actress with an onscreen note honouring Rivera before the opening credits.
      She will be seen alongside chefs and regular judges Candace Nelson and Adriano Zumbo as well as host Hunter March in the new season, which is dubbed “Sugar Rush: Extra Sweet”.
      Naya was found dead in Lake Piru, Ventura County, California, earlier this month (Jul20), following a five-day search and rescue operation after she went missing during a boat trip with her four-year-old son Josey.

      AceShowbiz – Big Sean has been receiving a lot of criticism ever since it’s been confirmed that Naya Rivera passed away in a drowning accident. Many people are attacking the rapper over his infamous diss track against the late actress, “IDFWU”, that he released back in 2015, with some urging him to delete the song from all streaming platforms.
      For instance, one person said, “I really hope you feel like the awful person you are for making that horrid song about her.” Meanwhile, another told him to “retire the song I don’t f**k you.” There was also an individual who wrote, “I know now ull think twice before writing someone hurtful songs.”
      Even though Big Sean has not addressed anything, not a few have come to his defense and pointed out that Naya’s death has nothing to do with Big Sean and that he’s probably just as sad as the others. “Disgusted that people actually coming at this man for a song he made 6-7 years ago instead of mourning her,” one person urged others to mourn Naya’s death instead of attacking Sean.
      “ik damn well yall were singin that song when it came out & naya was singin it too so pls be kind to sean during these times theres no reason to send hate,” another said, referring to the time when the “Glee” alum performed the song on “Lip Sync Battle”. An individual responded to the criticism, “Y’all mad miserable talking about that song…y’all acting like y’all never said anything bad to your ex’s.”
      Naya passed away after she went missing in Lake Peru, where she and her son Josey rented a pontoon boat. Her body was found after five days of searching.
      Her family recently issued a statement regarding her death, thanking those who offered their prayers and support while they were searching for her body. “While we grieve the loss of our beautiful legend, we are blessed to honor her everlasting legacy and magnetic spirit. Naya was an amazing talent, but was an even greater person, mother, daughter and sister,” so the statement read. “Thank you to the men and women of the Ventura, Tulare, and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Departments for your commitment and unwavering effort to find Naya. We extend endless gratitude and ovation to the heroine who found her. Thank you to her friends, colleagues, and fans for your continuous support.”
      To conclude the lengthy statement, her family requested that “our privacy be respected during this very difficult time.”

      AceShowbiz – Demi Lovato has remembered her time working with the late Naya Rivera on “Glee” in a heartfelt tribute to the late star.
      After her disappearance last Wednesday (08Jul20), authorities finally found a body they believe to be Naya’s during a search of a cove in Lake Piru in Ventura County, California, where the actress had been swimming with her son Josey, four.
      Following the confirmation of the sad news on Monday, “Skyscraper” hitmaker Demi – who starred as Dani in the U.S. TV show – took to Twitter to pay tribute to the mum-of-one, admitting she’ll “forever cherish the opportunity to play your girlfriend on Glee.”
      “The character you played was groundbreaking for tons of closeted queer girls (like me at the time) and open queer girls, and your ambition and accomplishments were inspiring to Latina women all over the world,” Demi shared. “My heart goes out to your loved ones at this time.”

      Following news that Naya was missing last week, the singer took to her Instagram Story on Thursday and posted a photo of a lit candle with the message, “Please pray for @nayarivera to be found safe and sound.”
      Several of Naya’s “Glee” co-stars, including Kevin McHale, Jane Lynch, and Amber Riley have shared tributes online, as her friends, family and castmates, including close pal Heather Morris, lined up and they held hands on the shores of the lake on Monday afternoon.
      The discovery of the body, which has yet to be formally identified but authorities are confident is Naya’s, coincides with another sad anniversary for the stars of the Fox musical drama – it is also the seventh anniversary of actor Cory Monteith’s death, following his accidental drug overdose in 2013.
