The Jonas Brothers star debuts the clip, which depicts him as a spaceman trying to get home to his wife, ahead of his performance of the song on ‘Saturday Night Live’.

    Mar 12, 2021
AceShowbiz – Nick Jonas has released a music video for his new single “Spaceman”. Apt to the song’s title and lyrics, the cinematic visuals depicts him as a spaceman who is stuck in a distant planet with no one but himself.
In the song, the Jonas Brothers star describes the feeling of being alone. “And the numbers are high but we keep goin’ down/ ‘Cause we ain’t supposed to live with nobody around/ I’m a spaceman/ Yeah, I’m a spaceman,” he sings.
Later in the chorus, he sings about missing his loved one as the music video shows him trying to get back home to his wife, portrayed by his real-life spouse Priyanka Chopra. Part of the lyrics goes, “From thе dark side of the moon/ I know that it’s sad but it’s true/ I’m tryna get home, I’m a spaceman/ Yeah, yeah, I’m a spaceman/ Out on my own.”
The “Spaceman” video, directed by Anthony Mandler, comes just hours ahead of the release of Nick’s fourth solo album of the same title. “Spaceman” is the lead single of the album and was released on February 25, followed by the second single “This Is Heaven” on March 4.

Despite his solo album and his upcoming solo gig, the Jonas Brothers are still very much together. The trio have quashed rumor about their disbandment following the release of Nick’s new song “Spaceman”.

They went on teasing their future projects as a band, adding, “Our 2019 (and even some of 2020!) was so special and it’s all because of how amazing you guys are … We have the best fans in the world and we love you so much! Nick Jonas Writes New Album After Feeling 'Disconnected' From Priyanka Chopra

    Instagram

In a revealing new interview, the Jonas Brothers star says his new single ‘Spaceman’ and the upcoming album of the same name are inspired by the moment when he was ‘missing’ his actress wife.

    Mar 4, 2021
AceShowbiz – Nick Jonas has gotten candid about the inspiration behind his new music. When making a virtual appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”, the Jonas Brothers star revealed that he wrote new single “Spaceman” and an upcoming album of the same name after feeling “disconnected” from wife Priyanka Chopra.
The 28-year-old opened up about his new solo project in the Tuesday, March 2 episode of Jimmy Fallon’s late night show. “I sort of started writing this record back in July,” he began sharing. “My wife was over in Germany finishing up this little movie called ‘[The Matrix 4]’ and I was like, ‘You know, I feel very disconnected from the world, first of all, and now my person.’ ”
“And I just dug in writing with Greg Kurstin and Mozella. Within a couple days, I was like, ‘Oh, this is a solo album.’ And a few days later I was like, ‘This is a kind of themed album,’ ” he further shared. “You know, giving this idea that we’ve all had this year now.”
“This year of being disconnected from reality, disconnected from the world, feeling like we’re on our own planet and obviously missing her at that time as well and reconnecting with her,” the younger brother of Joe Jonas added. “And then the main theme from this album, more than anything, is just about hopefulness for the future and seeing a brighter day ahead.”

Before his appearance on “The Tonight Show”, Nick disclosed that most of the songs in his upcoming album were his “love letters” to Priyanka. In a February interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, he noted, “Most of the songs are pretty much just love letters, which when I can’t articulate the way I feel with my words with no music, I go to the studio… And I’m grateful to have that because it makes her happy, and that’s most important.”
The “Sucker” singer had also discussed the concept of the album. “I think the key for me was trying to find a way to give this idea a persona, give it a name. So ‘Spaceman’ came into my mind because I was thinking, ‘What’s the one thing that all of us have felt during this time?’ It’s just completely disconnected from the world,” he explained.
“We’ve gotten so accustomed to looking at a screen instead of human interaction, and I think the thing that keeps us all encouraged and hopeful is just the idea of knowing that there will be a tomorrow when this isn’t our reality, and I think the body of work as a whole tracks that,” he went on explaining.
“But it felt like the right thing to start with ‘Spaceman’ because it is such a stark visual and creative idea to then start the conversation of songs like ‘This Is Heaven,’ which I’m really excited about,” he added. “It touches on some of the things I did with ‘Jealous’ and tracks like that. But in a new way, and just trying to continue to get better and evolve every day, push myself.”

'The Blacksmith' Shooting Delay Forced Nick Jonas to Bow Out of Leading Role

    Instagram

The ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ star initially signed up to play weapons expert Wes Loomis, a.k.a. The Blacksmith, in the big screen adaptation project from ‘Taken’ director Pierre Morel.

    Mar 2, 2021
AceShowbiz – Singer/actor Nick Jonas has bowed out of upcoming action thriller “The Blacksmith”.
The “Jumanji: The Next Level” star initially signed up to play weapons expert Wes Loomis, aka The Blacksmith, in the big screen adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name last spring (2020), in the hopes of filming in Toronto, Canada later that year.
However, his busy schedule forced producers at AGC Studios to delay the shoot, and now Jonas has had to step down from the leading role in “Taken” director Pierre Morel’s new project.

“Nick, as you can imagine, has a lot of other commitments, with his acting and his music,” AGC CEO Stuart Ford explains to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Under normal circumstances, he could fly in and out, go to do things over the weekend, and come back to set Monday. But in a COVID environment, that doesn’t work. He’d have to stay in the same place for three months. With a star like Nick Jonas, it became borderline impossible to make the schedule work.”
Ford insists AGC executives and Jonas have “parted ways, amicably”, and they are now looking for a replacement to co-star with Laurence Fishburne as Loomis’ mentor.
” ‘The Blacksmith’ provides a fresh, highly contemporary new take on the espionage genre and it’s exciting to pair an exhilarating young talent like Nick with seasoned heavyweights such as Pierre and Laurence,” Stuart Ford of financiers and producers AGC Studios explained. “We’ll soon be announcing an equally outstanding young female actor to play across from Nick and then we will have all the ingredients for a major new film franchise built around a very modern breed of action hero.”

The Jonas Brothers member reveals he toured colleges in his early music career and considered to leave the entertainment industry to be a professional athlete.
    Feb 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Nick Jonas toured colleges in his early days with the Jonas Brothers as he considered exiting the spotlight for a baseball career.
The 27-year-old singer is a renowned fan of the sport, and has previously played in charity games in a bid to raise funds for good causes.
Speaking during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers”, the “Sucker” hitmaker revealed he was once serious about pursuing a career on the field, and considered enrolling at Northwestern University.
“I went back in 2008 or 2009. We were on tour. We stopped in Chicago. I had dreams of going to college to study being a writer, journalist, or something. And I went with my dad to visit the campus and it turned into a scene from Hard Day’s Night,” Nick shared.
“But the real dream was to try to walk on to the baseball team to play,” he added.
However, the star stuck to music, and with brothers, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas went on to enjoy massive success, with three albums securing the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
Nick is currently appearing as a coach on “The Voice U.S.”, and the group is heading to Las Vegas for nine shows at the Park Theater at Park MGM from 1 to 18 April, as part of the Jonas Brothers in Vegas show.
A new album is expected to follow, with the “What a Man Gotta Do” star promising an announcement “in the next couple of weeks.”

Nick Jonas Gets Trolled by Adam Levine for Performing at the Grammys With Spinach in His Teeth

    WENN/Avalon

When stopping by ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, the Jonas Brothers member admits he was ‘annoyed’ no one informed him of the dental snafu before he got onstage.
    Feb 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Nick Jonas learned he had spinach in his teeth during his Grammy Awards comeback performance from Adam Levine.
The star and his Jonas Brothers bandmates Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas wowed the crowd when they performed their track “What a Man Gotta Do” at the ceremony last month (January), but the singer was embarrassed when he discovered he had been making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
And Jonas admitted he’s “annoyed” no one informed him of the dental snafu before the cameras caught it.
“Here’s the thing that’s really frustrating about this, OK? First of all, there was spinach in my teeth from my breakfast, which I ate hours before. So the entire day, no one thought to be like, ‘Hey man, there’s something back there,’ ” he said on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”.
After the Jonas Brothers left the stage, their manager gave Nick the bad news, leading him to check his phone – where he found a message from Adam Levine.
“We were really excited because the performance went pretty well and it was like our Grammy moment. Our return,” Nick added. “I was so amped and I was like, ‘What’d you think?’ and he’s like, ‘Well, just don’t check (texts on phone)!’ ”
He immediately checked his phone only to discover a teasing text from the Maroon 5 frontman.

“The first message on my phone was from Adam Levine. He’s like, ‘Nice performance. You had a little schmutz in your teeth.’ ”
