The prime minister said something or other about hard-working families in the community. And I told anyone who’d listen that our brave lasses were a shining example of the Blitz spirit. EXCLUSIVE: Love Island legend Shaughna Phillips has been on an impressive weight loss journey but has also come under fire from fans who have accused her of using jabs11:00, 27 Jul 2025Shaughna starred on the show in 2020(Image: ITV)Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has shared the “frustrating” claims she’s faced since losing an impressive six stone.The ITV star, 31, spoke exclusively to Daily Star in collaboration with Betboo, as she discussed her transformation “battle” as fans accuse her of using weight loss injections.Shaughna discussed her journey in detail after she recently announced she is expecting her second child. She explained: “It was a battle, do not get me wrong, and it was a hard old slug. I think people think it was overnight, and I wish, but it actually took me about 15 or so months.”And then I think I maintained my weight for about seven months after that, but then I fell pregnant. And honestly, the maintenance was as hard as losing it. Because I kind of hit my plateau, and then at that point, you can’t just be like, right, I can just go back to whatever else I was eating. It is a long-term thing. But I don’t have any expectations for myself. I’m just finding myself making these better choices. So I have a lot less weight on my shoulders now. I do feel a lot more in the driver’s seat.”When asked how it feels when fans assume her efforts was from weight loss jabs, she answered: “I can’t blame anyone for thinking it, because it is all you see online. There are so many times I’ve gone onto the Daily Mail, and there is always at least one article about the jabs. You couldn’t even openly get any of the jabs at that point. And the thing is, even though I had lost two stone, because I was still considered big, no one ever accused me of using the jabs; it was only once I had reached my goal weight.”I wasn’t getting these accusations until I brought out my Shreddit Plan. Once I brought that out, everyone wanted to weigh in. But before that, everyone was like, you’ve done amazing, you’ve done this, you’ve done that. But then I have moments where I remind myself I’m literally making a child, so I do snap myself out of it very quickly.”I can lose weight, I’m not worried about that. And I decided to get pregnant; it was completely planned. I just know I’m approaching this pregnancy with a healthier mindset than I did the first time. Not so much…10:00, 27 Jul 2025Updated 10:08, 27 Jul 2025If there’s one thing about Jeremy Clarkson, it’s that he knows what the people want.I recently visited his Diddly Squat Farm Shop to take a look around and was faced with the usual suspects – crates of Hawkstone lager piled high, pastries in all different sizes and flavours, DS branded crisps, honey, marmalade…and what’s this?From the corner of my eye I spotted a huge profanic sentence plastered on the side of a metal tin in bold letter, claiming what’s inside “smells like Jeremy’s b*******”.I gingerly opened the container and gave it a whiff, only to be faced with a surprisingly pleasant waft of old leather and something found on the ground, maybe in a forest, perhaps right next to a bog, although I couldn’t quite put my finger on what.Jeremy is flogging candles inspired by his own testicles(Image: SUPPLIED)Despite what I’d anticipated (which I won’t repeat), the candle had a strong, rich smell that was perfectly complimented by the unmistakable scent of petrichor that he’s somehow managed to trap in a can.The packaging claims that Jeremy’s creation is a replica of what his car seat smells like and if that’s the case, then I’d like to formally extend him the offer to come round and sit on mine anytime he likes.I was half tempted to buy a tin so that I could engulf my home in the stench of that-bloke-from-Top-Gear’s gonads, but drew a sharp intake of breath when I saw the hefty £22 price tag. A little steep for me, so I placed it back on the shelf after taking one last sniff… phwoar.Clarkson’s balls were a little out of my price range(Image: AMAZON)It seems Clarkson came up with the idea after one Hollywood actress began selling a very similar product named This Smells Like My Vagina. Melissa Johns, who has appeared in Coronation Street and Grantchester, says she has spent years hating her body but is finally at peace as she prepares to become a mum09:56, 27 Jul 2025The star spoke about her painful pastA pregnant Coronation Street star has been left heartbroken over cruel jibes about her disability.Melissa Johns, who starred as Kate Connor’s girlfriend Imogen Pascoe in the ITV soap, has revealed that pregnancy has helped her to finally love her body after years of self-loathing.The announcement on social media that she and her husband Dan Hampton were expecting a baby led to an outpouring of congratulatory messages and made her reassess her relationship with her body.Born without a right forearm or hand, 35-year-old Melissa, who has also featured in Coronation Street and Adolescence, recalls: “I was eight when I really started to feel I was different. We were playing tag in the playground and someone said, ‘If you touch Melissa, you’ve got Melissa disease.’ It was like a punch to my stomach.”At the age of six, she appeared in the local newspaper under the headline ‘Girl with one arm rides bike’. “Some of the other children would scream and run away when they saw me,” she adds.Actress Melissa Johns in Corrie(Image: ITV)Article continues belowWhat shocked her even more was the ignorance displayed by adults. Despite being blissfully happy with Dan, a senior transport planner, she shares: “On our honeymoon we had people saying to Dan right in front of me ‘Do you not mind?’ (referring to her disability) and one man called me ‘a cripple’.”However, now that she’s pregnant, she says people’s attention is focused on her bump. “People have commented on my body all my life. Either it’s something horrible or something about me being inspirational,” reports the Mirror.”But now people are talking about my body in a lovely way,” she says. “For once in my life it’s not about my disability, it’s about my bump.”The disability activist announced her pregnancy to her online followers last month, sharing a beach photo with 36-year-old Dan – her husband whom she wed in her native Herefordshire last year – tenderly holding her baby bump.”I have a strong history of loathing my body,” she confesses. “It came from society telling me that my body was wrong. But there is so much positivity around pregnant bodies, and now I really do very much like what I see when I look in the mirror. It feels lovely.”Like many first-time mums, Melissa experiences both anticipation and apprehension, but when asked how she will manage, she responds, “That just adds an extra layer of anxiety to the pressure that all first-time mums feel.Miss Scott also has a role in Grantchester(Image: ITV)”We’re all worrying, how does this work? And on top of that I’m thinking, ‘What about when my husband is at work – will I be able to find a one-handed pram that I can collapse with one arm? How will I get the pram in and out of the car on my own? How will I drink a cup of coffee with my friends while holding the baby?'”.”I feel like saying, ‘I don’t know yet, I haven’t worked it out, but I will find a way.'”.Her steely resolve has certainly been a driving force in her life. A pivotal moment occurred in her twenties when she watched old camcorder footage of herself as a young girl at a family gathering.”I saw this happy little girl dancing and spinning, without a care in the world and thought, ‘I’m so sorry for the life I’m giving you,'” Melissa remembers.On dates, she would conceal her arm, revealing, “It would get to the third date and I’d have to tell them that I’d got one arm. I’d see that as winning, that I’d hidden it so well. I needed to control how people saw me.
