I’d also like some pranks – maybe the sound of knocking inside the coffin, or a video of me asking my doctor for a second opinion on his diagnosis of ‘death’.””There’ll be no harping on the bad times. Stevie looks forward to seeing everyone soon and apologises to the fans for this inconvenience.”The music icon was initially set to commence her tour in August. Michaella first gained notoriety over a decade ago as one half of the infamous ‘Peru Two’, a pair of drug mules.It all began on 6 August 2013 when Michaella, along with Melissa Reid, was detained at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, Peru. They were caught with £1.5m worth of cocaine stashed in their luggage. Michaella had been coerced into smuggling the narcotics from Peru to Spain by an individual she had met in Ibiza. However, this decision would lead to her serving three years in one of South America’s most notorious prisons, before being released early.Reflecting on her experiences, Michaella confesses that the consequences of her mistakes left her fearful of making another error, causing her to become excessively cautious and stuck in her ways. What if I mess it up? What if I take this job and it doesn’t work out? What if I move to this place and it doesn’t work out?”I was just a little bit afraid of making those decisions. I felt stuck. So I guess that was the main thing for me, to try and learn to overcome that. So I feel like it was important, I guess, when I got there, to show that I’m not just that girl who went to prison.”She added: “So I guess that was the main thing for me, to try and learn to overcome that. I hope it kind of, softens the image so people get to see me in a different light.”After spending three years in the infamous Ancon 2 jail, Michaella endured appalling living conditions, physical violence, while battling the legal system and learning to survive in an environment as hostile as it was brutal.Following her release in 2015, Michaella set about rebuilding her life in Northern Ireland, earning a degree in International Business Management from Ulster University in 2023. She also discovered a newfound love for fitness, using it as a means to regain control over her life.She often delivers talks about her transformation, conquering difficulties, and the risks of coercion, which has made her a sought-after speaker for law enforcement and community groups due to her experiences.Off the screen, Michaela is a single mum to twin seven year old lads, who she reveals will be stunned by her feats on the show. Lyme disease proves notoriously tricky to pin down with a proper diagnosis, as many of its telltale signs mirror those of other conditions – leaving sufferers drained, aching in their joints, and sometimes struggling with memory problems.Kelly Osbourne has been candid about her own struggle, revealing in her 2017 autobiography that a tick bite in 2004 started her ordeal. The disease spreads to humans via tick bites – though Kelly remained unaware of her condition for years.In her no-holds-barred book, There Is No F—ing Secret: Letters From a Bada– Bitch, Kelly described experiencing “traveling pain” that ranged from stomach troubles to throat discomfort. Come 2013, she endured a seizure and received an epilepsy diagnosis.Kelly was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2014, ten years after being bitten by a tickDetailing how medics struggled to find effective treatment, she penned: “My prescriptions kept piling up. I couldn’t sleep, so they gave me Ambien. When Ambien made me nauseated, they switched me to Trazodone, but that gave me acid reflux, so then I had to take an antacid every day. I took cranberry extract and antibiotics because one medication made me prone to getting urinary tract infections.”, reports the Mirror US.The agony became so overwhelming that she confided to her family: “I can’t live like this anymore. I’m a vegetable.”What irks me is that this is a genuine, life-threatening condition. It nearly claimed my life. And it’s astounding, and you’re more aware of this than anyone, how someone can twist a single sentence to cast such a negative light,” penned Kelly.”There’s nothing negative about it, because I will go to any lengths to raise awareness for it since it almost took my life,” she continued. “It’s a crippling disease that often slips through the diagnostic net.”Eventually, she sought help from an alternative health practitioner, Philip Battiade, who conducted tests and diagnosed Kelly with stage III neurological Lyme disease in 2014, a decade after her initial tick bite.The Mayo Clinic states that the most prevalent symptom of stage III in the United States is arthritis in the joints, predominantly the knees, leading to swelling, stiffness, and pain.
