Lily Allen reveals she was bullied by ex who said she had ‘poor hygiene’

Lily Allen has revealed she was bullied by an ex who told her she had ‘poor hygiene’ and claimed it was a ‘form of abuse’ and a ‘horrible’ experienceAndy Gilpin Deputy Editor in Chief and Bang Showbiz15:35, 29 Jul 2025Updated 15:50, 29 Jul 2025Lily Allen has revealed one of her ex-boyfriends bullied her over her personal hygiene(Image: BANG Showbiz)Lily Allen has opened up about being targeted for her “poor hygiene” by a former lover. The Smile singer, who parted ways with Stranger Things star David Harbour in 2024 after a four-years together, spoke candidly about the “abuse” she endured regarding cleanliness from an ex-beau. On the Miss Me? podcast with pal Miquita Oliver, Lily shared without naming names: “It was somebody I was in a relationship with who would do it to me, and I don’t think that it was real.”I think that it was like a form of bullying and abuse, it was a horrible one.”Lily emphasised the cruelty of such behaviour, adding, “And as bullying forms of abuse go, it’s a really horrible one.”Allen went on to explain the impact it had on her self-esteem: “Yeah, it was like done on purpose to make me feel self-conscious and s*** about myself. And make them feel powerful.”In another revealing moment on the podcast, the 40-year-old singer confessed to having a hazy memory regarding the number of abortions she’s undergone. During a discussion on contraception, she admitted to frequently falling pregnant in the past, saying, “I just remember I have an IUD [contraceptive coil] now.”She continued, “I think I’m on my third maybe fourth and I just remember before that it was a complete disaster area. Yeah, I’d get pregnant all the time.”Lily then touched upon her abortion experiences, acknowledging the uncertainty around the exact count. In a light-hearted reference to a Frank Sinatra classic, she sang, “Abortions I’ve had a few … but then again … I can’t remember exactly how many.”Lily added: “I can’t remember. I think maybe like, I want to say four or five.”The British singer disclosed that one of her former exs had footed the bill for an abortion, which at the time she found oddly “romantic”.She recounted: “I remember once getting pregnant and the man paying for my abortion, and me thinking it was so romantic!”.Miquita agreed, chiming in with: “I actually think that is romantic!”.Article continues belowYet Lily swiftly dismissed the notion, pointing out the high cost of raising children. The LDN songstress, mother to daughters Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, with her ex-husband Sam Cooper, clarified: “No, I don’t think it’s generous or romantic. Think about that investment, like that’s how much is it … 500 quid? Kids are a lot more expensive.” More

Five major stars who kept big cats as pets – only one of them was brutally savaged

We might be a nation of animal-lovers, but for most of us, there’s a limit. Not so for these fearless celebrities, who decided to move in with lions, tigers and a cheetahJames Moore14:52, 29 Jul 2025Updated 14:52, 29 Jul 2025Actress Tippi Hedren with her lion, Neil(Image: The LIFE Picture Collection via Getty Images)Talk about being in a Jam! This week the Daily Star revealed that singer Paul Weller was once attacked by a pet lion, owned by his dad’s pal, while on his way to a gig.In fact, there are plenty of intrepid folk who have kept big cats as pets over the years – including lions, tigers and cheetahs, though with mixed success. Here JAMES MOORE looks at some of the fur-eakiest cases…Oh mane! Tippi Hedren, now 95, is most famous for being attacked by winged critters in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 movie The Birds. But in real-life she had no qualms about keeping a 400lb lion, called Neil, around the family home with her producer husband Noel Marshall and future actress daughter Melanie Griffith.Boxer Mike Tyson with one of his three Bengal tigers(Image: The Ring Magazine via Getty Images)Neil, who they raised from a cub, had the run of the house, pool and even shared Griffith’s bed. Hedren and Marshall brought him into their Beverly Hills home to research their ill-fated 1981 movie Roar, which featured scores of big cats. Some 70 members of the cast ended up injured and Griffith almost lost an eye when she was mauled by a different lion.Bite nasty : Heavyweight champ Mike Tyson once notoriously bit the ear of rival Evander Holyfield. So it’s apt that the boxer decided to keep three Bengal tigers, known for their own powerful jaws, as pets.He kept one of them, Kenya, for 16 years. But the 550lb beast ended up ripping the arm off an intruder at his property, who’d scaled a fence to play with the animal.Tyson, who gave Kenya away after the incident, now admits: “I was foolish. There’s no way you can domesticate these cats 100 per cent, no way that’s going to happen.”Burlesque dancer Josephine Baker with her cheetah, Chiquita(Image: Getty Images)Fast mover : American actress and burlesque dancer Josephine Baker, who moved to France to perform before World War Two, kept a pet cheetah called Chiquita. The critter, which wore a diamond collar, accompanied her on walks, slept in her bed and rode in her car. It also joined Baker on stage and would sometimes jump into the orchestra pit causing havoc among the musicians.Claw blimey : Showbiz duo Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn had been performing with white lions and tigers for decades when tragedy struck in 2003. Mantacore, a 400lb white tiger, suddenly attacked Horn during a performance in Las Vegas, biting his neck and severing his spine and an artery, leaving him partially paralysed. But even on the way to the hospital, Horn described Mantacore as a “great cat” and the feline continued to live with the pair at their estate until his death aged 17 in 2014.Anthony Bourke and John Rendall with their lion, Christian(Image: Derek Cattani/REX/Shutterstock)Article continues belowGrrr-eat purchase: In 1969 Aussies John Rendall and Anthony Bourke bought a lion cub at the posh London department store Harrods. ‘Genuine’ Love Island couples according to their ‘telling’ sleep positions

EXCLUSIVE: Discover how “genuine” Love Island couples are as they reveal their true feelings through their sleep, because how they snooze might just prove if their connection is real14:17, 29 Jul 2025This article contains affiliate links, we will receive a commission on any sales we generate from it. Learn moreJudi James analysed the couple’s sleeping positions(Image: ITV/pictures provided by PA Wire)The only “genuine” Love Island couple has been revealed after an expert analysed their sleeping patterns.Experts claim the way couples sleep side-by-side can reveal surprising clues about the strength and authenticity of their relationships – and we’re about to find out more on the matter…Teaming up with body language expert Judi James, Premier Inn has dubbed her its first ever ‘Head of Bed-y Language’ and she was keen to discuss her findings exclusively with Daily Star.Judi kicked things off with Yasmin and Jamie who have been clawing their way into the most popular spot in the villa. Judi shared: “With Jamie and Yasmin, I’m not actually getting signals from her that she’s completely besotted. I might do if she slumps, you can be in love positioned like that.Jamie and Yasmin are fan faves(Image: ITV)”A sign of a good relationships would be things like curling up in the spoons position. You can’t tell under the duvet if he he having to lay next to her like a match next. I’m desperate to know if she actually does snuggle, or whether she just lays flat on her back or on her side, and he’s literally having me to mimic what she does.”They haven’t shown that yet. And I hate the fact that I’m absolutely dying to see it. I have seen them laying face to face, kissing each other, so it’s very likely that she’s still got her posture and you kind of just want her to relax a little bit.”Now for the longest-standing couple Meg and Dejon, who she says the public aren’t buying, and neither is she.Judi analysed: “Then you’ve got Megan and Dejon, they’re not fooling anybody. Last night, they were both lying on their backs. I was quite interested, because they weren’t touching. The expert is not convinced about Meg and Dejon(Image: ITV)”They clearly do have a lot of kissing that goes on and everything like that. But it was quite telling. The last view that we got of them was that he’d kind of got his pillow built up like a bolster so he couldn’t see her face. I wouldn’t want to see somebody doing that to me in bed.”To build a wall with a pillow, I thought that was quite interesting body language. And maybe that does mean that he’s actually not quite as smitten as he’s making out, because the level that they’re at, where they are, you know, clearly going to declare undivided love any minute now, you would almost be inhaling the other person’s breathing. And I think most women, if the guy did that would say, ‘What’s wrong?'”But now for Judi’s only potential “genuine” match, according to her findings.Judi thinks Megan and Connor could be the real deal(Image: ITV/Shutterstock)The expert revealed: “I think that Connor possibly has got feelings for Megan. I hope they can evolve a little bit more in the time they have left. I don’t know how long they’ve got now but they need to speed it up a little bit. I think they’re probably the ones that might be with a chance of maybe convincing me they’re genuine. Apart from that, I’m going to be very cynical, I’m afraid.”Speaking generally about bed-y language, Judi said: “How we sleep next to our partner can say more than words ever could. Our sleeping positions are like a silent conversation – revealing how connected, comfortable, or even emotionally distant we might feel.”“Whether it’s at home with a long-term partner or someone you’ve coupled up with in the villa, it’s fascinating to see how our bedtime body language reflects the highs and lows of a relationship. From the protective spoon to the independent back-to-back, subconscious cues can speak volumes – even when the lights go out.”For more information on how to get a good night’s sleep, visit www.premierinn.com/gb/en/sleepArticle continues belowHave you joined Threads? ‘I was first to interview Bonnie Blue and understand reason behind infamous stunts’

Bonnie Blue has taken the world by storm, but when Daily Star’s Joe Faretra was first to interview her in March 2024, not many people had even heard of her13:45, 29 Jul 2025Bonnie Blue has risen in the ranks of notoriety quickly(Image: bonnie_blue_xox/Instagram)When I first had a chat with Bonnie Blue last year, she was relatively unknown. Fast forward 14 months and she’s now a global phenomenon, getting a mention from Jack Whitehall at the BRIT Awards, and fronting her own Channel 4 documentary. Whether you’re a fan or not, her rise to international fame has been nothing short of remarkable, likely due to her relentless work ethic, candid conversation style and infamous stunts, like bedding 1,057 men.She thrives on her risqué behaviour and enjoys ruffling a few feathers.Comforted by the fact that despite the backlash, she’s also gaining a significant number of admirers along the way. I’ve been in a unique position to witness, and play a small role in, her ascent to the A-list of adult performers.Bonnie Blue now has her own documentary about her 1,000 men stunt(Image: Rob Parfitt / Channel 4)When I was given the chance to interview Bonnie in March 2024, she had a modest following across her social media platforms. Fresh off a controversial Schoolies’ stunt in Australia, she was in Cancun to stir up similar antics with US students celebrating Spring Break in Mexico. She was seated in the lobby of her hotel with a rather unreliable WiFi connection, making for a challenging conversation. Despite the occasional dropouts, it was a fruitful discussion that left an impression.I’ve always been slightly apprehensive about posing deeply personal questions to adult stars. Given their profession, my inquiries shouldn’t be a problem, but I still felt uneasy. However, Bonnie is incredibly self-aware and candidly shared her experiences. She conversed with me as if we were mates, with her having an intriguing job that I couldn’t resist asking about. And like any good friend, she was open and honest.”Have you got any pictures?” I enquired. She offered to send some over.Joe Faretra was the first to interview Bonnie Blue(Image: Joe Faretra)However, due to the unreliable signal and the complexity of my surname, I suggested that I’d send her an email to which she could reply with the photos. So, I ended the call, dispatched the email which – since I work remotely – included my personal mobile number.A fortnight later, I received an unexpected WhatsApp message from Bonnie, and just like that, I became the unofficial Bonnie hotline. It was somewhat akin to the Batphone, albeit with a higher bodycount.Whenever she was up to something, whether it was visiting the UK for some sign-posting antics, cheeky encounters at football matches, or stunts with freshers, I would receive a message and we’d exchange thoughts on it.Thanks to the time difference between the UK and Australia, I would receive messages and pictures at all hours, documenting her latest escapade.Bonnie Blue rose to prominence after videos with college students on Spring Break(Image: onlybonnieblue/Instagram )She was so grounded and frank, making her incredibly easy to write about. I once had a 20-minute chat with her, from which I managed to produce eight articles.I dubbed her the headline queen, as every fresh conversation would yield another sensational story. She was also a person of great kindness. I recall her checking up on me after a hospital appointment, asking about my holiday on another occasion, and even fulfilling a peculiar request. At a party, a friend spoke to me at length about Bonnie. Initially, I assumed it was because she knew I’d written numerous articles about her – but it turned out she was simply captivated by Bonnie’s exploits and had no idea I’d penned a single word. So, I asked Bonnie if she could record a brief video thanking her personally for her interest in her antics, which she did, leaving my friend utterly astounded – I wonder what the price tag for a personal message would be now.I felt quite honoured and privileged to have contributed to her skyrocketing fame, although it’s fair to say her extraordinary determination did most of the heavy lifting.Joe describes Bonnie Blue as ‘a person of great kindness'(Image: Jam Press/@bonnie_blue_xox)Bonnie once estimated that around 90% of the global stories about her originated from interviews I’d conducted with her, and she seemed irritated that I hadn’t been acknowledged.Even her appearance on This Morning came about after a researcher from the ITV show read one of my articles. And, to conclude this, here’s a final fun fact and my new claim to fame.As a journalist, I’ve had the unusual distinction of inadvertently sparking two world records. The first was an ironing-related feat in my hometown, while the second involved Bonnie’s claim of intimate encounters with 1,057 men in just 12 hours.During our initial conversation, I was trying to be diligent and asked her about her plans after her first Spring Break experience in Cancun. When she shared the staggering number of men she’d been with, I mentioned the existing world record held by Linda Sparxxx (919, for the curious).Bonnie’s eyes lit up, and the wheels began turning in her mind.Bonnie Blue took inspiration for her stunt from a conversation with Joe(Image: Bonnie Blue/Instagram)As I mentioned earlier, Bonnie sent me a random WhatsApp message when we first started chatting. It was about this very topic. In our subsequent conversations, she’d occasionally share off-the-record updates on her progress, discussing potential backers and venues. However, things went quiet on that front as Bonnie shifted her focus to other pursuits and reveled in being scandalous. That was until Monday, January 13, when I received a WhatsApp message from Bonnie at 11:35 pm, saying: “Just wanted to thank you for mentioning the world record to me last year, this is where it started!” At the time, I simply thought it was because she’d come a long way since our initial conversation. Then the next morning, I woke up to see her trending, complete with photos of her holding an A4 sheet with 1,057 written on it – Blimey! So, while I was sat there watching Police Academy or something similar, I unknowingly gave over a thousand blokes a day they’ll never forget. My evening couldn’t have been more different.Cheers Bonnie, keep being you!Article continues belowWant all the biggest Showbiz and TV news straight to your inbox?
