Having retired in 2022, the 74-year-old music legend expressed his lack of desire to continue making music.Speaking to MOJO magazine, Collins confessed: “I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens. But I’m not hungry for it anymore. The thing is I’ve been sick, I mean very sick.”He has been battling type 2 Diabetes and spinal injury complications. Collins reminisced about his early days as an actor in the musical Oliver on London’s West End in 1964, where he played the Artful Dodger, before joining Genesis as their drummer in 1970 at just 19 years old.Phil opened up about his healthAfter becoming the lead singer when Peter Gabriel left in 1975, Collins went on to win numerous prestigious awards, including eight Grammy awards, six Brit Awards, and an Oscar. In 2022, Genesis embarked on a farewell tour, with Collins singing while seated and his son taking over on the drums.In the documentary You’ll Be In My Heart, Collins poignantly reflected: “I’ve spent all my life playing drums.
