    Billy Crudup Quits 'The Flash'

    WENN

The actor, who was originally cast to play Barry Allen’s father, has decided to pull out of the upcoming DC superhero movie fronted by Ezra Miller, citing scheduling conflicts.

    Mar 14, 2021
AceShowbiz – Billy Crudup has dropped out of DC movie “The Flash” due to scheduling conflicts with his Apple TV Plus series “The Morning Show”.
The 52-year-old was set to star as Henry Allen – the father of Barry Allen and his titular alter-ego – in the DC Extended Universe movie but has now left the production due to scheduling conflicts with the Apple drama, which also stars Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell.
While Billy has left, Maribel Verdu has been cast as Barry’s mother in the movie.
The movie features Ezra Miller as The Flash / Barry Allen, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Ben Affleck as Batman, along with Michael Keaton also as Batman.

Kiersey Clemons has recently joined the cast as Iris West, who is set to be a romantic interest of The Flash.
Meanwhile, four years ago Billy revealed he was unsure of when production would start, due to Ezra’s hectic schedule.
When asked if he knew when “The Flash” would start filming, Billy said, “I don’t. It’s unclear at the moment. I think, Ezra’s schedule … Ezra’s a busy man, he’s very popular and excellent.”
And it wasn’t just the busy schedule of Ezra that had a hand in delaying the movie, as the production suffered another setback when the movie’s director Rick Famuyiwa – who had been brought in to replace Seth Grahame-Smith – quit due to creative differences between himself and Warner Bros. studios.
Andy Muschietti is now directing the movie, from a script written by Christina Hodson.

Ray Fisher Reacts to Being Removed From 'The Flash' Movie

    Warner Bros. Pictures

The actor who plays Cyborg in ‘Justice League’ says he doesn’t mind being dropped from the Speedster movie if it could help to ‘bring awareness and accountability to Walter Hamada’s actions.’

    Jan 15, 2021
AceShowbiz – Ray Fisher has penned a lengthy tweet to fans, confirming that his character Cyborg has been written out of standalone “Justice League” movie “The Flash”.
Last summer (20), Fisher had been offered the opportunity to reprise his part for a cameo in “The Flash”, but he has since clashed with studio executives at Warner Bros., who are developing the DC Comics film, after accusing director Joss Whedon of misconduct on the set of 2017’s “Justice League”, which he completed when Zack Snyder had to step down.
An internal investigation was launched, but Fisher refused to co-operate, and last month (Dec20), he slammed DC Films President Walter Hamada, branding him, “the most dangerous kind of enabler” – even though he was not employed by the firm or involved in Justice League when it was originally released.

In his address to fans on Wednesday (13Jan21), Fisher said that while he is upset that he won’t be able to reprise his role in the film, “bringing awareness to the actions of Walter Hamada will prove to be a much more important contribution to our world.”
He went on to make new claims of Hamada’s “interference” in the internal investigation, including allegations that he tried to shield his former co-president Geoff Johns from allegations of misconduct, continuing, “I maintain that Walter Hamada is unfit for a position of leadership. And I am willing, at any point, to submit to a polygraph test to support my claims against him. I don’t know how many instances of workplace abuse Walter has attempted to cover in the past. But hopefully the Justice League investigation will be the last.”
Fisher concluded, “And if the end of my time as Cyborg is the cost for helping to bring awareness and accountability to Walter Hamada’s actions – I’ll pay it gladly.”
Hamada, Warner Bros. and DC Films have yet to respond to Fisher’s allegations.

Ray Fisher Dropped From 'The Flash' Movie After He Criticizes DC Boss

    Warner Bros. Pictures

The Cyborg depicter has been written out of the upcoming DC Speedster standalone movie following the actor’s outburst against DC Films President Walter Hamada.

    Jan 7, 2021
AceShowbiz – “The Flash” bosses have reportedly had “Justice League” star Ray Fisher’s Cyborg character written out of the upcoming standalone movie, following his public resignation from the role.
An internal investigation was launched, but Fisher refused to co-operate, and last week (30Dec20), he slammed DC Films President Walter Hamada, branding him, “the most dangerous kind of enabler” – even though he was not employed by the firm or involved in “Justice League” when it was originally released.
Fisher then declared, “I will not participate in any production associated with him. A >E (Accountability >Entertainment).”

Hamada is currently overseeing work on “The Flash”, and it appears producers have taken note of Fisher’s outburst and had the storyline reworked to exclude an appearance by Cyborg, according to The Wrap.
The character will not be recast.
Fisher previously returned as Cyborg for reshoots for the “Justice League Snyder Cut”, an extended version of the director’s original vision, which will premiere this spring on U.S. streaming service HBO Max.
Meanwhile, “The Flash” will feature two familiar faces reprising their roles as Bruce Wayne/Batman – both “Justice League” ‘s Ben Affleck and former Caped Crusader Michael Keaton will suit up for the blockbuster, which will introduce audiences to the multiverse, in which different versions of the same characters exist in alternate, co-existing realities.
Andy Muschietti is directing “The Flash”, which is set for release in November 2022.

The CW Shuts Down 'The Flash' Season 7 Production Following Positive COVID-19 Test

    The CW

While it remains to be seen whether the one who contracts the disease is one of the cast or the crew, the report states that the person is asymptomatic and self-isolating.

    Nov 30, 2020
AceShowbiz – Another TV show has been affected by COVID-19. It has been reported that The CW halts production on season 7 of “The Flash” in Vancouver after a team member tested positive for the novel virus. Deadline is the first one to report.
While it remains to be seen whether the one who contracts the disease is one of the cast or the crew, the report states that the person is asymptomatic. The report further claims that the person is currently self-isolating.
Sources also add that the studio is currently evaluating adjustments to the production schedule so that they can resume filming without the affected employee and those who had close contacts with the person. Season 7 filming of “The Flash” initially resumed on October 1 as the new season is set to debut on February 23, 2020.
This is not the first time for “The Flash” to make adjustment due to COVID-19. The network cut short season 6 because of the pandemic. For the first time in “The Flash” history, a season ended without the titular DC superhero defeating its main antagonists.

In season 7, the Scarlet Speedster, who is played by Grant Gustin, will be seen continuing his adventures without the Elongated Man as actor Hartley Sawyer was fired back in June due to racist tweets. As for Danielle Panabaker, the actress, who is currently on maternity leave, is scheduled to return in the latter part of season 7.
“After a thrilling cliffhanger last season which saw the new Mirror Master (Efrat Dor) victorious and still-at-large in Central City, The Flash must regroup in order to stop her and find a way to make contact with his missing wife, Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton). With help from the rest of Team Flash, which includes superheroes Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Nash Wells (Tom Cavanagh), as well as the Flash’s adoptive father Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), Meta-Attorney Cecile Horton (Danielle Nicolet), tough cub reporter Allegra Garcia (Kayla Compton) and brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk (Brandon McKnight),” read the official synopsis for season 7.
The synopsis continued, “Flash will ultimately defeat Mirror Master. But in doing so, he’ll also unleash an even more powerful and devastating threat on Central City: one that threatens to tear his team–and his marriage–apart.”
“The Flash” joins other TV production which was paused over COVID-19 concern. Prior to this, CBS All Access’ “Why Women Kill”, Apple TV+’s “Mythic Quest”, ABC’s “Call Your Mother”, Amazon’s “Bosch, TNT’s “Claws” and HBO’s “The Gilded Age” were among the TV shows which production was forced to get shut down. Also getting affected by the widespread virus were Netflix’s “The Witcher”, “Dear White People” and “Vikings: Valhalla”, NBC’s “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago Med, Fox’s “The Resident”, Peacock’s “Rutherford Falls”, ABC’s “For Life”, CBS’s “Young Sheldon” and Disney+’s “Big Shot”.

    Aug 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ben Affleck is suiting up as Batman again for the upcoming “The Flash” movie.
The “Argo” star was slated to play Bruce Wayne and his crime-fighting alter ego in The Batman, but he stepped down as the film’s star and director in early 2019 after playing the role, alongside The Flash’s Ezra Miller in “Justice League”.
But now it appears he will return as the Caped Crusader, alongside another former Batman – Michael Keaton, in what “The Flash” director Andy Muschietti is calling a “substantial” role, according to Deadline.
Keaton portrayed Batman in Tim Burton’s “Batman” and “Batman Returns” in 1989 and 1992, respectively.

    Jun 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Flash” star Hartley Sawyer has been fired after a social media post with racist and misogynist references recently resurfaced.
The actor, who portrayed Ralph Dibny – aka Elongated Man – on the series for three seasons, will not be back for the upcoming run of shows, according to Warner Bros. TV bosses.
“Hartley Sawyer will not be returning for Season 7 of The Flash,” a statement obtained by Deadline reads.
“In regards to Mr. Sawyer’s posts on social media, we do not tolerate derogatory remarks that target any race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, or sexual orientation. Such remarks are antithetical to our values and policies, which strive and evolve to promote a safe, inclusive and productive environment for our workforce.”
Sawyer’s Twitter account has been taken down, but screenshots of the old posts have been circulating online. All were posted before Sawyer joined “The Flash”.
His now-former co-star, Grant Gustin, has been quick to respond to his castmate’s departure, sharing showrunner Eric Wallace’s official statement, in which he states: “I am committed to bringing permanent change to the work environment here on THE FLASH. Yes, this is a family show. But it’s for all families. That includes Black and Brown ones. In order to facilitate this, I will continue to find Black and Brown writers, directors, actors and producers of all genders to help tell FLASH stories.”

Gustin added: “I was shocked, saddened and angry when I saw the tweets. Words matter.”
