    WENN/Tony Forte

In an interview for ‘The Ben Shapiro Show’, the former stuntwoman discusses her exit from the ‘Star Wars’ spin-off as well as the #FireGianCarano hashtag that went viral before Disney decided to cut ties with her.

    Feb 22, 2021
AceShowbiz – Gina Carano has addressed her firing from “The Mandalorian” following her controversial social media posts. In an interview for “The Ben Shapiro Show”, the former stuntwoman discussed her exit as well as the #FireGianCarano hashtag that went viral before Disney decided to cut ties with her.
“I’m not like you, I’ve never really been interested in politics,” Carano told conservative commentator Shapiro. “And then as soon as I started seeing things happening, I guess in 2020, I started looking up, ‘Well maybe the adults don’t have it under control? And maybe I’m an adult now, and maybe I have a responsibility to pay attention.’ ”
In the interview, Carano was asked about fans calling out Disney for not firing co-star Pedro Pascal, who also made an offensive remark about Holocaust in a 2018 tweet. In the said tweet, the “Game of Thrones” alum compared undocumented children being confined in cages to Jews being locked away in concentration camps.
Of the actor, Carano said, “I adore Pedro. I adore him. I know he’s said and done some hurtful things. I don’t think posting anybody’s number on social media is okay.” She referred to the actor sharing Senator Ted Cruz’s publicly listed office phone number on Twitter in early January. “But we had an agreement after we realized we were a little bit politically different. We had an agreement that, first and foremost, you’re a human being. And you’re my friend first,” she added.

The actress also believed that both democrats and republicans were “trying to drag [them] apart.” She went on to say, “That’s what’s been really crazy. You see these people [on one side] being so passionate and you see people [on the opposing side] being so passionate. I just love that we’re both passionate. We think a little bit differently, I think, through our different experiences. I know that we both have misstepped on our tweets. We’re not perfect. We’re human beings. But he’s not a bad human being. He’s a sweet person.”
Later in the sit-down, Carano accused Disney of “bullying” conservatives. “They’ve been all over me and they’ve been watching me like a hawk,” she claimed. “And I’m watching people on the same production and they can say everything they want, and that’s where I had a problem. I had a problem because I wasn’t going along with the narrative.”
The former MMA fighter shared that she “was prepared at any point to be let go because I’ve seen this happen to so many people.” She added, “I’ve seen the looks on their faces. I’ve seen the bullying that takes place, and so when this started, they point their guns at you, and you know it’s only a matter of time. I’ve seen it happen to so many people, and I just thought to myself, ‘you’re coming for me, I know you are.’ They’re making it very obvious through their employees who were coming for me, and so I was like, ‘I’m going to go down swinging and I’m going to stay true to myself.’ ”
Adding that she’s “not the only one that’s ever been bullied” by Disney, Carado said, “I know that so deeply. I could share a story which would turn things around in the media but I can’t because it would sell out a friend… Everyone is afraid of losing their job.”

Gina Carano Found Out 'The Mandalorian' Dismissal Through Social Media

    Disney+

The former MMA fighter claims that, like everyone else, she only found out she had been let go by Disney bosses from the ‘Star Wars’ spinoff series through social media.

    Feb 17, 2021
AceShowbiz – Fired “The Mandalorian” star Gina Carano found out she had been dismissed by Lucasfilm bosses via social media.
The film chiefs revealed the former stuntwoman was “no longer an employee” after she came under fire for comparing being conservative in America to the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany, and she reveals executives didn’t even contact her to tell her she was gone.
In a new interview with journalist Bari Weiss, she explains she found out she was no longer attached to the hit Disney+ series “through social media, like everyone else.”
Carano also told the former New York Times writer Disney bosses previously barred her from doing any press for “The Mandalorian” second season following her ill-advised mockery of pronoun usage.

“Earlier on last year before The Mandalorian came out, they wanted me to use their exact wording for an apology over pronoun usage. I declined and offered a statement in my own words,” Gina says. “I made (it) clear I wanted nothing to do with mocking the transgender community, and was just drawing attention to the abuse of the mob in forcing people to put pronouns in their bio.”
She finally caved in to Disney pressure, stating, “I didn’t want to take away from the hard work of everyone who worked on the project, so I said, ‘OK.’ That was the last time I was contacted about any type of public statement or apology from Lucasfilm.”
Carano has since removed the Instagram post, in which she compared conservatives and persecuted Jews during World War Two.
Disney and Lucasfilm bosses released a joint statement last week (10Feb21), which read, “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

Gina Carano Lands New Movie With Ben Shapiro After Being Fired From 'The Mandalorian'

    Instagram

The former MMA fighter has lined up a new project with conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro after she was let go from the ‘Star Wars’ spinoff series.

    Feb 13, 2021
AceShowbiz – Actress Gina Carano is moving on from her “The Mandalorian” firing by lining up a new film with conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro.
The former mixed martial arts star was dropped from her role as Cara Dune by Lucasfilm bosses after she posted an anti-Semitic message on Instagram earlier this week (beg08Feb21) – following previous controversial and militant social media notes about mask wearing during the coronavirus pandemic and claims of voter fraud in the U.S. presidential election.
Dune had been a recurring character in the “Star Wars” spin-off in the first two seasons, which aired on the Disney+ streaming service.

Carano was also dropped by her representatives at United Talent Agency, but she is offering no apologies for her beliefs and she has now taken up an offer to work on her own movie with officials at Shapiro’s outlet, The Daily Wire.
In a statement to Deadline.com, she said, “The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams – to develop and produce my own film – come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered.”
The defiant actress went on to share words of encouragement to her fellow conservatives to continue speaking their mind, whatever the consequences. “I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob,” she added.
“I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”

Ron Howard Reacts to Daughter Bryce Dallas Howard's 'Apollo 13' Tribute in 'The Mandalorian'

    Instagram

The ‘Apollo 13’ director is proud of his actress daughter as she pays homage to his classic movie in one of the new episodes of the ‘Star Wars’ spin-off series.

    Nov 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ron Howard was a proud dad when he spotted his daughter Bryce Dallas Howard’s tribute to him in “The Mandalorian”.
The “Jurassic World” star directed “The Heiress” episode of the “Star Wars” spin-off series and recreated a shot from her dad’s film “Apollo 13”.
“She asked me about one particular insert, which was some water dripping down off a panel of switches. They were trying to figure out how to do it, so she asked me what was entailed,” Howard told NME.
“I didn’t really think about it. Once in a while she’ll ask me an opinion about something and I throw out an answer.”

When he eventually saw the scene, Ron was more than chuffed, “I was really proud of that. Then it showed up on the internet and she said, ‘Dad it was very intentional if you don’t mind.’ I was as proud as I could possibly be. Great episode, too.”
Bryce was equally proud of being able to pay homage to her father. When a fan commented, “Like father, like daughter!” she replied, “Nice catch!! 100% correct.”
Before helming “The Heiress” in season 2, Bryce Dallas Howard stepped behind the lens for an episode called “Sanctuary” from season 1 that airing last year.
She discussed with her father her experience as a director on the TV series and he was surprised by the amount of creative freedom given to each director by the producers.
She said, “I really thought that I was going to just basically be like a soldier. And the reality was that both [producers] Jon [Favreau] and Dave [Filoni] wanted each of the filmmakers to very much put our stamp on everything. I was shocked, honestly. I kept telling my dad, and he was like, ‘Really?!’ ”
