Sharon Osbourne Enraged as She's Accused of Making Racial and Homophobic Comments About Colleagues

    CBS

The wife of Ozzy Osbourne drops F-bomb as she vehemently denies allegations suggesting that she made offensive comments about ‘The Talk’ co-host Julie Chen and producer Sara Gilbert.

    Mar 18, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Sharon Osbourne has slammed allegations she used racial slurs in an attack on her former “The Talk” co-host Julie Chen in a fiery new statement.

Osbourne’s U.S. daytime show is currently on hiatus as TV bosses investigate a heated exchange between Sharon and Sheryl Underwood on the programme last week (10Mar21), and now rocker Ozzy Osbourne’s wife is facing a new scandal over racially and gender insensitive comments she has allegedly made in the past.

Former “The Talk” co-host Leah Remini has reportedly told a New York Post writer she heard the Brit call Asian-American Chen “slanty eyes” and “wonton” and lesbian sidekick and producer Sara Gilbert “p**sy licker” and “fish eater.”

Osbourne’s publicist, Howard Bragman, told the Post, “The only thing worse than a disgruntled former employee is a disgruntled former talk show host.”

“For 11 years Sharon has been kind, collegial and friendly with her hosts as evidenced by throwing them parties, inviting them to her home in the U.K. and other gestures of kindness too many to name. Sharon is disappointed but unfazed and hardly surprised by the lies, the recasting of history and the bitterness coming out at this moment.”

“She will survive this, as she always has and her heart will remain open and good, because she refuses to let others take her down. She thanks her family, friends and fans for standing by her and knowing her true nature.”

And now Osbourne herself is speaking out about the latest drama, telling the Daily Mail, “It’s c**p, all c**p… Everyone’s got an opinion or a story like the wonton story. It’s like f**k off with your f**king wonton story. F**k off!”

“Of course, it’s a pile on. People want to add fuel to the fire and it comes with the territory and that’s fine.”

Sharon is currently considering whether she’ll return to the show when it returns to TV on Tuesday (23Mar21), after facing criticism for defending Piers Morgan over public comments he made about the Duchess of Sussex’s recent tell-all with Oprah Winfrey.

Sharon Osbourne Unsure If She's Still 'Wanted' on 'The Talk' After Row With Sheryl Underwood

    Instagram

The Osbourne matriarch is unsure about returning to the CBS panel show following her clash with co-host Sheryl Underwood over Piers Morgan and Meghan Markle drama.

    Mar 18, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Sharon Osbourne isn’t sure if she wants to return to “The Talk” because she’s not sure if they even want her back.

The CBS panel show is currently on temporary hiatus this week pending an internal network review after the 10 March (21) episode and Sharon’s explosive confrontation with co-host Sheryl Underwood, when they clashed over Sharon’s decision to defend her friend Piers Morgan against allegations of racism in the wake of his departure from U.K. TV show “Good Morning Britain”.

Now, Sharon has told Entertainment Tonight, “I wish we could go on and have (an) adult conversation calmly and work it out but I don’t know whether we can.”

“I don’t know whether it’s gone past that. I would love to but I don’t know whether I even want to go back… I don’t know whether I’m wanted there.”

The news comes after CBS decided to pull the plug on the live shows on Monday (15Mar21) and Tuesday following the heated row between Sharon and Sheryl.

The discussion started on “The Talk” when Sharon was talking about defending Piers over comments he made following Duchess Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, including insisting he didn’t believe her when she said she’d had suicidal thoughts.

In response, Sheryl said, “While you are standing by your friend, it appears that you are giving validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist.”

Sharon replied, “Educate me, tell me when you have heard him say racist things? I very much feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend, who many people think is a racist, so that makes me a racist? How can I be racist about anybody or anything in my life.”

The show then cut to a commercial break, but when it returned, she continued to press Sheryl for an explanation as to what was racist about Piers’ comments and added, “And don’t try and cry, because if anyone should be crying, it should be me.”

Now, Sharon has claimed she felt “blindsided” and “set up” with the grilling she received from her co-stars.

“It was like, ‘You’re asking me the questions, you’ve got the questions written down there, and I haven’t even had time to get my head together to come up with a correct answer here,’ ” she added to ET.

“You’re the one accusing me. And I didn’t even know this was happening. It was between her and I. I’m the one that should be crying here. My a** is on the line. I’ve just been pounced on, not even prepared for it.”

And the 68-year-old star – who has also denied allegations of using racist and homophobic slurs toward her former co-hosts – has “apologised” to Sheryl after their row although she hasn’t heard back yet.

“I own up to what I did. I can’t not own up. I said what I said. I got too personal with Sheryl. I should’ve never said stop her tears,” she continued. “She was hurting as I was hurting… I love Sheryl, I’ve apologised to Sheryl, she’s not gotten back and I can understand. Sheryl needs her time.”

'The Talk' Put on a Break Following Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood's Argument

    WENN/Instar

While Sheryl describes their heated exchange as a ‘blessing,’ the wife of Ozzy Osbourne denies calling former co-host Holly Robinson Peete ‘too ghetto’ for the morning show.

    Mar 15, 2021
AceShowbiz – “The Talk” has paused its production. After Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood had an on-air debate over Piers Morgan’s controversial comments about Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, the daytime talk show was reported to be put on a brief hiatus.
The staff of “The Talk” were informed on Sunday, March 14 that the Monday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 16 live episodes are canceled. Elizabeth Vargas and Carly Pearce were scheduled as guests respectively. The show is said to be making its on-air return on Wednesday, March 17.
Two days prior, CBS told Deadline that the network is investigating Sharon and Sheryl’s heated exchange. “We are committed to a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace,” the statement read. “All matters related to the Wednesday episode of The Talk are currently under internal review.”
Sharon and co-host Sheryl got into heated arguments over the former’s support for Piers in the show’s Wednesday, 10 March episode. Sheryl first asked Sharon, “What would you say to people who may feel that while you’re standing by your friend, it appears you gave validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist, even if you don’t agree.”

Responding to the question, the wife of Ozzy Osbourne replied, “I don’t know what he’s uttered that’s racist. I’m not trying to slide out of this one. I don’t know. Tell me what has he uttered that’s racist.” She further argued, “I feel even like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is a racist.”
Two days afterwards, Sheryl addressed the debate when speaking on “The Steve Harvey Morning Show”. She said, “Everybody, especially people of color, (goes) through this all the time, there’s just no cameras pointing at you. Nobody gets to see it, nobody knows it. And today was my day and I accept the blessing of the lesson.”
While Sharon has yet to weigh in on the argument with Sheryl, she has denied the latest accusation that she called former co-host Holly Robinson Peete “too ghetto” for “The Talk”. The mother of Kelly Osbourne tweeted, “Never in my life did I utter the words that Holly was ‘too ghetto’ to be on the Talk, as well as not having her fired.”

Sharon Osbourne denied calling former co-host Holly Robinson Peete ‘too ghetto’ for ‘The Talk’.
Sharon’s tweet came after Holly alleged that she was involved in her firing from the show. “I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too ‘ghetto’ for #theTalk…then I was gone,” the 56-year-old tweeted on March 12. “I bring this up now [because] I was mortified watching the disrespectful, condescending tone she took w/her co-host, who remained calm & respectful because…she HAD to.”

Holly Robinson Peete Accuses Sharon Osbourne of Saying That She's 'Too Ghetto' for 'The Talk'

    WENN/Winston Burris/Instar

Holly actually isn’t the first to accuse Sharon of making such comments as back in 2012, fellow former ‘The Talk’ co-host Leah Remini echoed her allegations against the wife of Ozzy Osbourne.

    Mar 13, 2021
AceShowbiz – Holly Robinson Peete claimed that Sharon Osbourne had something to do with the fact that her contract on “The Talk” was not renewed. The former co-host of the morning talk show, who was among the show’s original panelists alongside Sarah Gilbert, Julie Chen, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Leah Remini, shared on a tweet that Sharon said she wasn’t fit for the show because she was “too ghetto.”
“I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too ‘ghetto’ for #theTalk…then I was gone,” the 56-year-old wrote on Twitter on Friday, March 12. “I bring this up now [because] I was mortified watching the disrespectful, condescending tone she took w/her co-host, who remained calm & respectful because…she HAD to.”

Holly Robinson Peete claimed Sharon Osbourne got her fired for being ‘too ghetto.’

Prior to this, Holly responded to a fan writing on Wednesday, “No one listened when Holly Robinson Peete called out Sharon Osbourne’s thinly veiled racism. And now it’s right here on Twitter for all to see. Believe Black women.” Writing back to the person, Holly said, “The question is if someone defends, excuses or protects racist behavior is that ever OK?… I don’t think so.”
Holly actually isn’t the first to accuse Sharon of making such comments. Back in 2012, Leah alleged that Sharon got her and Holly fired from “The Talk” because she thought they were “ghetto.” Sharon vehemently denied the claims at the time, writing on Twitter, “In response to Leah Remini’s continuous comments that I had her fired from @TheTalk_CBS, let me just go on the record to say, I had absolutely nothing to do w her departure from the show & have no idea why she continues to take to Twitter to spread this false gossip. Leah knows that I have never been in the position to hire or fire anyone on the show.”
Holly’s new tweet about the allegations against Sharon arrived after the latter was under fire following her heated argument with co-host Sheryl Underwood. In a recent episode of the show, Sheryl called the wife of Ozzy Osbourne racist for defending Piers Morgan who is known for verbally attacking Duchess Meghan Markle.
“I very much feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend, who many people think is a racist, so that makes me a racist?” Sharon questioned while in tears. “Don’t try and cry because if anybody should be crying, it should be me,” Sheryl told her.

Sharon Osbourne Apologizes After Row With 'The Talk' Co-Hosts, Claims She 'Panicked'

    CBS

The Osbourne matriarch is sorry following her clash with TV co-hosts over Piers Morgan and Meghan Markle drama, claiming she got defensive because she ‘panicked.’

    Mar 13, 2021
AceShowbiz – Sharon Osbourne has insisted she does not “condone racism, misogyny or bullying” after publicly defending Piers Morgan over him quitting “Good Morning Britain”.
The anchor decided to step down from his position on the U.K. TV show after a row with weatherman Alex Beresford about his behaviour towards Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, following her and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Morgan had previously stated he didn’t believe the Duchess’ comments that she was suicidal during her time in the royal family, sparking calls for his dismissal, but pal Sharon spoke out in his defence insisting, “I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth.”
The day after her tweet, Sharon explained on her U.S. TV show “The Talk” that she didn’t “agree with what he said,” but supported her friend’s “freedom of speech.”
When co-host Sheryl Underwood asked her what she would say to people who felt it was racist to defend a person making such comments and Sharon replied, “For me, at 68 years of age to have to turn around and say ‘I ain’t racist’ – what’s it got to do with me? How could I be racist about anybody? How could I be racist about anybody or anything in my life? How can I?”
“I will ask you again, Sheryl, I was asking you during the break and I’m asking you again. And don’t try and cry, because if anyone should be crying, it should be me,” she said as she raised her voice. “This is the situation: you tell me where you have heard him say – educate me. Tell me when you have heard him say racist things. Educate me. Tell me.”

      See also…

Sheryl told her that it isn’t “the exact words of racism,” but rather the “implication and the reaction to it.”
“To not want to address that because she is a Black woman, and to try to dismiss it or to make it seem less than what it is, that’s what makes it racist,” insisted the comedian. “But right now, I’m talking to a woman who I believe is my friend and I don’t want anybody here to watch this and say that we’re attacking you for being racist. And for that, if I articulated anything -”
“I think it’s too late. I think that seed is already sown,” Sharon quipped.
However, in a statement posted on social media, Sharon stated she “panicked, felt blindsided (and) got defensive.”
Apologising to “anyone of colour that I offended and/or to anyone that feels confused, or let down by what I said,” Sharon explained that she had “allowed my fear and horror of being accused of being racist take over.”
“Please hear me when I say I do not condone racism, misogyny or bullying. I should have always have been more specific about that in my tweet,” she wrote. “I will always support freedom of speech, but now I see how I unintentionally didn’t make that clear distinction.”
“I hope we can collectively continue to learn from each other and from ourselves so we can all continue to pave the way for much-needed growth and change.”

Sitting on stage with all you women has been the best thing ever. I truly love you,” Eve, who joined the talk show in November 2017 to replace Aisha Tyler, added.
The 41-year-old star later thanked her co-hosts, including Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Carrie Ann Inaba, for their support all this time. “Real friends support each other. We all support you,” said Carrie Ann.
