AceShowbiz – Whoopi Goldberg was a no-show on her U.S. daytime talk show “The View” on Tuesday (March 17) after taking a break to visit her doctor.
The 64-year-old, who missed weeks on the daily magazine programme last year (19) as she battled a severe health crisis, told producers she wanted to make sure she was safe to return to the show amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“To be extra careful about her health, Whoopi is consulting with her doctor today,” co-host Sunny Hostin explained. “She wants everyone to know she feels fine and plans on being back here tomorrow.”
“We know that Whoopi had pneumonia, and was not in a good place. So, she just wants to get checked out and make sure that it’s smart for her to be here every day.”

The other co-hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain and Sunny Hostin, meanwhile, will continue hosting the daytime talk show, which is taping at an empty studio in light of the epidemic.
    Mar 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – As the Coronavirus outbreak is getting bigger, “The View” co-host Joy Behar is taking a preventive measure. The 77-year-old TV personality announced on Thursday, March 12 that she would be taking a temporary leave from the ABC daytime talk show.
“I’m in a higher risk group because of my age, but I’m perfectly healthy,” she told her co-hosts during taping for Friday episode, according to Variety. “I don’t look my age, but I’m actually up there. The number makes me dizzy.”
Behar will not be featured on next week’s episodes of the show. Additionally, she has yet to decide when to return. The other co-hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain and Sunny Hostin, meanwhile, will continue hosting the daytime talk show, which also films its episode without a live studio audience in light of the disease.
Coronavirus has affected a lot of aspects in entertainment industry with many movies delaying their production and pushing back their release dates. Most recently, Disneyland announced that it would close until the end of March, marking the fourth time in history.
In a statement on Thursday, a Disney spokesperson wrote, “While there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 at Disneyland Resort, after carefully reviewing the guidelines of the Governor of California’s executive order and in the best interest of our guests and employees, we are proceeding with the closure of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, beginning the morning of March 14 through the end of the month.”
Additionally, Broadway has decided to shut down its shows and plays until mid-April due to the virus, which contracted actor Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson. New York’s theater bosses, owners and union representatives met to discuss a possible month-long shutdown of all shows and plays on Thursday morning. Actors Equity union chiefs had been demanding the shut down for days, revealing members were concerned about contracting the virus.

Edie Falco Laughs Off Expletive Blunder on Daytime TV

    WENN/Instar

‘The Sopranos’ actress stops by ‘The View’ to promote her new police drama series, ‘Tommy’, and shares her thought on the fact her top cop character is a lesbian.
    Feb 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Actress Edie Falco accidentally turned the air blue on Thursday (February 27) after letting slip an expletive on daytime TV.
“The Sopranos” star was promoting her new police drama series, “Tommy”, on America’s “The View” when she admitted she was unfazed by the fact her top cop character, Abigail ‘Tommy’ Thomas, was a lesbian.
“It did not occur to me as something to take into account when I read it (in the script),” Falco shared. “It was just, this is what she does, this is the job she’s gonna take on, and how will that be different because of who she is as a person, as opposed to the fact that she’s a woman or that she’s gay?”
She continued, “It feels like maybe it’s time – it’s long past time, if you ask me – where that’s not the first thing you know or you ask about someone, their sexuality. It feels like what a bizarre thing to even know. Who gives a s**t, right?”
The 56-year-old quickly realised her blunder, which was bleeped out by TV censors, and laughed off the mishap by cheering, “Whoo!”
“I think Carmela kicked in there for a second!” show co-host Joy Behar quipped, referencing the star’s mob wife character on “The Sopranos”.

Falco, who is known for tackling edgy characters on cable TV, where language and content rules are more relaxed, smiled as she explained, “See, I don’t work on network (TV) much…! That’s what that is. I had a moment!”

Meghan McCain on Whoopi Goldberg 'The View' Fight: 'She Was Having a Bad Day'

    ABC

During her appearance on ‘WWHL’, the 35-year-old conservative host also addresses rumors of her beefing with Abby Huntsman and that was the reason for her to leave the show.
    Jan 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Unlike what has been reported, Meghan McCain is not feuding with any of her co-hosts on “The View”. The 35-year-old conservative host stopped by “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” on Thursday, January 30 and she was more than happy to set the record straight.
When asked about the time when Whoopi Goldberg asked her to stop talking during a heated argument, Meghan explained, “It was rough and I’d say that she was having a bad day, and we talked about it that night and the next day.”
“You know, it’s live TV and it’s really intense, stressful times for anyone. I adore her; she apologized off air, she apologized on air,” she continued defending Whoopi. “We all f**ked up on the show. It’s live, it’s every day and I forgive her and I love her.”
Meghan even said that she wouldn’t continue being on the show should Whoopi leave.”Whoopi is the anchor of the show, my life there; she always picks us up when we’re down. But, if she jumps, I jump. I adore her and I need her as the moderator.”
The said heated argument took place in the December 16 episode of “The View”, in which they were discussing President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial. Co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar were trying to speak but Meghan cut them off, prompting Whoopi to say to Meghan, “Girl, please stop talking, please stop talking right now.” Meghan then responded, “I won’t talk for the rest of the show,” to which Whoopi replied, “I’m okay with that. I’m okay with that! If you’re going to behave like this. You’re talking over people.”
During her appearance on “WWHL”, Meghan also addressed rumors of her beefing with Abby Huntsman and that was the reason for her to leave “The View”. Explaining that she and Abby have been friends for so many years, Meghan admitted that they did have a small fight.

“It was a very small fight, a friend fight,” Meghan said. “All friendships have their ups and downs, and it was bizarre to me, and I think bizarre for her, that the fact that we got into one fight during the two years we worked on the show was… weaponized.”
