  • 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' Hit With Sexual Misconduct and Harassment Allegations After Host's Apology

    NBC Studios

Shortly after Ellen DeGeneres offers apology, former employees come forwards calling her show ‘a place where sexual harassment and misconduct’ run rampant.
    Aug 1, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ellen DeGeneres has once again come under fire after 36 former employees came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment from senior-level producers working on the star’s TV show.
Just hours after the host admitted she was “sorry” about recent allegations of a “toxic” work environment from former employees of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, BuzzFeed published the new article, reporting that “the office is a place where sexual harassment and misconduct by top executive producers runs rampant,” according to “dozens of men and women who work behind the scenes.”
Speaking about their experiences, the employees, who were all kept anonymous, range from longtime, senior-level employees to production assistants. They claimed that senior producers would regularly make sexually explicit comments in the office, and many of the targets were “lower-level and younger employees who felt they lacked any power to speak up.”
Other employees alleged inappropriate touching took place, with many of the allegations made against executive producer Ed Glavin.
“We’re young people who were forming our careers and were unfortunately subjected to a toxic work environment as some of our first jobs out of college,” a former employee said. “And some of us were sexually harassed and that’s what was shaping our careers our first year out of school.”
While Warner Bros. executives didn’t comment on the new allegations, they gave a new statement after launching an investigation into the show, insisting they “hoped to determine the validity and extent of publicly reported allegations and to understand the full breadth of the show’s day-to-day culture.”
“The Ellen DeGeneres Show is, and has always strived to be, a place that brings positivity to the world,” they said. “We have identified several staffing changes, along with appropriate measures to address the issues that have been raised, and are taking the first steps to implement them.”

  • 'RHONY' Star Leah McSweeney Confront Ramona Singer for Gossiping About Her Bipolar Disorder

    Instagram

The drama then unfolds when the ladies arrive in Cancun, Mexico, for their annual girls’ trip where Leah confronts Ramona before they get into a screaming match.
    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Leah McSweeney was beyond upset when she found out that her “The Real Housewives of New York City” co-star Ramona Singer was talking about her mental health with others behind her back. In the Thursday, July 30 episode of the show, Ramona told Sonja Morgan that Leah acted crazy at her birthday party because she has bipolar disorder.
“I found out she’s bipolar and she’s on medication and I know people who are bipolar and you cannot mix alcohol with meds, it makes you act not responsible. It’s actually very dangerous,” the 63-year-old told Sonja.
Ramona revealed during a confessional that she learned about it through a friend. “They go, ‘Ramona listen, this Leah girl, she writes a blog and on a blog she says she’s bipolar.’ That explains it all!” Meanwhile, Sonja wondered in her own confessional, “Why is Ramona telling me this and where is she getting this information. Is it true even? I’m getting along well with Leah.”
The drama then unfolded when the ladies arrived in Cancun, Mexico, for their annual girls’ trip. After Ramona vented at Sonja about what Leah did at her party, Sonja told her, “You said she lifted up her skirt. She said she didn’t.” However, Ramona insisted that Leah did, to the point she “had to run over to her and pull down her dress.”
Apparently, Sonja let it slip to Leah about Ramona gossiping about her mental health. Leah then expressed her frustration to Dorinda Medley, saying, “Whatever, I don’t care about the party. She’s saying I showed my vagina to people, which is demeaning and it’s a lie and whatever. But when you start talking about ‘Leah has depression, she’s on pills,’ it’s a line that you don’t cross.” She also said that she never told Ramona about her bipolar disorder, adding that “she must’ve done some digging.”
“I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 disorder on my 30th birthday and really dedicated the last seven years of my life to getting it under control and to getting myself in a good place. I’m not even on medication, so for her to be talking about it in this way is despicable,” Leah shared.
Later, Leah confronted Ramona about the matter. “Then why do you keep talking about [my vagina]?” Leah said, to which Ramona yelled back, I don’t talk about it, you’re talking about it!” Leah then insisted, “I didn’t do anything! She needs to stop talking about my vagina.”

  • 'Marriage Bootcamp': Phaedra Parks and Medina Islam's Romance Questioned by Other Couples

    Instagram

In a latest episode of the TV show, the ‘RHOA’ alum and the actor are asked to imitate each other until Dr. Ish notes that he hasn’t seen them kissing ever since they arrived at the house.
    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Phaedra Parks and her boyfriend Medina Islam are among the couples participating in the newest season of “Marriage Bootcamp: Hiphop Edition”. However, the other cast members and fans seemingly think that the former “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star and the actor may be faking their relationship for storyline.
In a latest episode of the TV show, the two were asked to imitate each other until Dr. Ish noted that he hadn’t seen them kissing ever since they arrived at the house. Medina then walked to Phaedra and kissed her on her cheeks. However, the cast didn’t seem to find a chemistry between the pair.
“It seems like their first kiss, like we’ve never been here before,” one of the cast members said. Fans echoed the sentiment on Twitter with a user tweeting, “There’s no chemistry. It’s a business arrangement.”
“Phaedra & Medina ain’t got the chemistry for me. I’m not buying this relationship or storyline,” someone else added. “Phaedra and Medina are friends. It’s clear she’s there for TV,” another fan chimed in.
The couple raised people’s eyebrows when Phaedra claimed that she and Medina never had sex. Medina said in a previously-released preview for the TV show, “No sex. None. Blue balls.” Someone off screen, meanwhile, could be heard responding, “Damn.”
Of joining “Marriage Bootcamp”, Medina said, “I’m excited to come to ‘Marriage Bootcamp’ because distance and communication are things that we want to master. My biggest problem is intimacy, not just sex… intimacy, affection, attentiveness.”
As for Phaedra, she admitted to being nervous about having to live with strangers for the show. “I’m never really afraid of anything. However, I’ve never been in a house with other people and not knowing who’s going to be at the house is probably going to be the most comfortable part,” she shared.

  • Denise Richards Claims Brandi Glanville Had Sex With Some of the People on 'RHOBH'

    Instagram

After co-star Teddi Mellencamp confronts her about her alleged hookup with former cast member Brandi, Denise tells others a shocking revelation about Brandi’s sex life.
    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Denise Richards is dropping a major bombshell in a preview of next week’s episode “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. After co-star Teddi Mellencamp confronted her in the Wednesday, July 29 episode about her alleged hookup with former cast member Brandi Glanville, Denise tells others a shocking revelation about Brandi’s sex life.
“I don’t know Brandi Glanville very well. I don’t know you well, either,” Teddi tells Denise in the preview during a sit-down dinner in Rome. That’s when Denise makes a huge revelation, saying, “I will tell you, Brandi said that she’s had sex with some of the people from this group.”
Shocked, Kyle Richards asks, “Someone at this table right now?” To that, Denise simply replies, “Yes.” The ladies look at Lisa Rinna in shock before the clip ends.
This arrives after Brandi told Teddi and Kyle about what Denise allegedly said behind them in last week’s episode. “I just want you guys to be careful with her cause she’s not who she pretends to be,” Brandi, who made headlines after she claimed that she hooked up with Denise while the latter’s still married to Aaron Phypers, said at the time.
“I don’t want to go totally into it, but what you see isn’t what you get,” Brandi insisted as Kyle’s mouth literally dropped in total shock. Turning to Teddi, Brandi added, “She doesn’t like you at all. At all. She’s said horrible things about you. You’re obnoxious. You’ll do anything to be in this group cause you’ve lived under your dad’s shadow all of your life. It’s just like, mean,” referring to Teddi’s rock star dad John Mellencamp.
Brandi also claimed that Denise didn’t like Lisa either. Brandi continued explaining that when Denise was around the cast, “she’s like, ‘Why do they all want to fight me?’ ”

  • Ellen DeGeneres Breaks Silence on Show's Alleged Toxic Environment: I'm 'Disappointed' and 'Sorry'

    NBC

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has also released a new statement in which it talks about ‘several staffing changes’ as executive producer Ed Glavin is reportedly set to exit ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’.
    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ellen DeGeneres has finally responded to rumors regarding alleged toxic environment on her talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”. Amid an internal investigation done by WarnerMedia on her popular show following racism, workplace intimidation, and mistreatment allegations, the 62-year-old TV personality shared in an internal memo that she’s “sorry” for what happened and claimed that she had been misrepresented.
“Hey everybody – It’s Ellen. On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness – no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect,” she began saying in the memo, which was obtained by Variety on Thursday, July 30.
She added, “Obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it’s the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show.”
Thanking everyone for the show’s success, Ellen said that she took responsibility on everything that happened on the show since “my name is on the show.” Ellen continued, “Alongside Warner Bros, we immediately began an internal investigation and we are taking steps, together, to correct the issues. As we’ve grown exponentially, I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done. Clearly some didn’t. That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again.”
Later, Ellen defended herself, saying, “I’m also learning that people who work with me and for me are speaking on my behalf and misrepresenting who I am and that has to stop. As someone who was judged and nearly lost everything for just being who I am, I truly understand and have deep compassion for those being looked at differently, or treated unfairly, not equal, or – worse – disregarded. To think that any one of you felt that way is awful to me.”
“It’s been way too long, but we’re finally having conversations about fairness and justice. We all have to be more mindful about the way our words and actions affect others, and I’m glad the issues at our show were brought to my attention,” she went on to say. “I promise to do my part in continuing to push myself and everyone around me to learn and grow. It’s important to me and to Warner Bros. that everyone who has something to say can speak up and feels safe doing so.”
Before concluding her memo, Ellen claimed that she would’ve made this announcement “in person” if not for the COVID-19 pandemic, and apologized to those who didn’t “love working” on her show.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Warner Bros. released a new statement that read, “We have identified several staffing changes, along with appropriate measures to address the issues that have been raised, and are taking the first steps to implement them. Warner Bros. and Ellen DeGeneres are all committed to ensuring a workplace based on respect and inclusion. We are confident this course of action will lead us to the right way forward for the show.”
It is said that EP Ed Glavin is set to exit the show. However, a rep for Warner Bros. declined to comment on his alleged departure.

  • 'The Comey Rule': Brendan Gleeson's Donald Trump in First Teaser Receives Mixed Reactions

    [embedded content]

The two-part Showtime series, which reportedly costs $40 million, follows the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails and potential Russian involvement in the election
    Jul 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Comey Rule” has treated fans to its first sneak peek at the upcoming Showtime limited series. Coming in the form of a teaser, it features a better look at Brendan Gleeson’s “less cartoonish” take on President Donald Trump.
The video, which was released on Wednesday, July 29, opens with Gleeson’s Trump walking inside the White House. Later, he can be seen having a conversation over a dinner with former FBI director James Comey, who is played by Jeff Daniels.
Somewhere in the teaser, the pair are seen standing before reporters. While shaking Comey’s hand, Gleeson’s Trump whispers on his rival’s ear, “Really looking forward to working with you. Let’s take a picture.”
To portray Trump, Gleeson sports prosthetics which perfectly hides his face. Amazed by his take on POTUS, one fan reacts, “Brendan Gleeson is going to be brilliant.
However, someone else notes that Gleeson’s voice impersonation is less spot-on compared to the visual. “The look of Trump is pretty good here but I feel the voice is a bit off and feels rougher than in real life,” the person comments. “It made me think of Christian Bale’s voice for Batman.”
Echoing the sentiment, one person says, “Gleeson’s probably gonna nail it but the voice is almost too butch. He needs to be more whiny.”
The two-part series, which reportedly costs $40 million, follows the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails and potential Russian involvement in the election. It also depicts Comey’s personality clash with the new president.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, writer Billy Ray shared the show wanted to make Gleeson’s interpretation of Trump “less cartoonish.” He explained, “Everywhere that we could, we dialled it down.”
“We made the contrast between the bags under his eyes and the orange skin softer than it actually is. We made the hair a little less cartoonish than it actually is. We made the suits fit a little bit better. We went out of our way to play fair because we felt we owed that to the public. We are not here to ridicule anybody,” he added.
“The Comey Rule” is set to debut on September 27 on Showtime.
