  • Hugh Jackman Says Ryan Reynolds Is 'Devastated' Over His Emmy Nomination

    WENN/Apega

Considering the ‘Bad Education’ actor’s famous fictional feud with the ‘Deadpool’ star, it is only natural when Hugh is asked about Ryan’s reaction to his nomination.
    Jul 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Hugh Jackman is among those who earn a nod for the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards as the nominations were revealed on Tuesday, July 28. The Australian star, who is up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his work on HBO’s “Bad Education”, recently shared his feelings after learning about the nomination to E!’s daytime talk show.
“It’s a good way to wake up! I feel really good,” the 51-year-old actor revealed to Scott Tweedie during a video call. “I’m thrilled the film got nominated. Good day in our house.”
Considering Hugh’s famous fictional feud with fellow actor Ryan Reynolds, it is only natural when Hugh was asked about Ryan’s reaction to his nomination. “Lots of texts from everyone I know, nothing from Ryan,” the “Logan” actor shared.
But then, he jokingly claimed that he got to know about his friend’s reaction through a text from the “Deadpool” actor’s wife Blake Lively. “But Blake…Hang on, I’m just reading it now. ‘He’s devastated. He says he’s not getting out of bed for three days. This is the greatest gift you’ve ever given me,’ ” Hugh said. “I don’t know! That’s all I got from Blake.”
Explaining to Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith in a separate interview, Hugh added, “Blake just texted me. Said he won’t get out of bed, he’s furious. He’s very angry with the Academy. He’ll be fine. He’ll spend three or four days in bed, you know, and then he’ll get over it.”
He also shared on Twitter a video message from Ryan to congratulate him. “Buddy….. congratulations! Since you get a nomination, that’s just crazy!” Ryan said in the clip. Obviously, Ryan didn’t end his video without roasting Hugh as he added, “That’s crazy, not ’cause you don’t deserve it. Well….”
In a serious note, Hugh is grateful for the nod. “Particularly, you know, when I see the list of actors who are up for it and the quality that is happening on television now,” he said. “Honestly it’s a great honor. I’ve been in the business for 25 years, so, you know, I wanna say to someone like [‘Normal People’ star] Paul Mescal, who is nominated — and he’s 22 — I wanna say, ‘Don’t take this for granted, dude, it’s not gonna happen every year… Well, it may, but probably won’t, so enjoy. Make the most of it.’ ”
The 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards will be presented on 20 September. Jimmy Kimmel has been tapped as the host.

  • Derek Hough Shares His Reaction to Tom Bergeron's 'DWTS' Exit, Praises New Host Tyra Banks

    WENN

The ‘World of Dance’ judge, who used to be a professional dancer on the ABC show, shares that he’s ‘optimistic for that switch-up,’ but he is ‘definitely shocked about Tom Bergeron.’
    Jul 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tom Bergeron’s exit from “Dancing with the Stars” is shocking not only to fans, but also Derek Hough. The 35-year-old, who used to be a professional dancer on the ABC show, revealed his initial reaction to Tom and co-host Erin Andrews being let go from the series.
“My initial reaction, I guess I was pretty shocked,” Derek told Bevy Smith on the Tuesday, July 28 episode of SiriusXM’s Bevelations. “Tom Bergeron is such a staple on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and he’s a good friend of mine. He’s just a good man.”
He kept gushing over Tom, who was the OG host of “Dancing with the Stars”, saying, “He’s been there since the beginning. He’s just a great guy.”
However, Derek noted that nothing is ever certain in the entertainment industry. “You also understand that in the entertainment industry nothing is certain,” the “World of Dance” judge shared. “There’s always those efforts to reinvigorate and switch things up, so you look at that and it’s also understandable.”
As for Tyra Banks, who is tapped to take over the hosting duty, Derek has nothing but praises. “You know, Tyra Banks, I’ve come in contact with her several times and I think she’s fantastic,” the Utah native said. “I thought she was a fantastic host on ‘America’s Got Talent’. I thought she did an amazing job.”
Derek said that he was “optimistic for that switch-up,” but he was “definitely shocked about Tom Bergeron.” Concluding his interview, Derek said, “I’m always sort of a cheerleader for shows to succeed. For me, especially for shows that I’ve been a part of, that I love and hold dear to my heart, I want ‘Dancing with the Stars’ to succeed and do well.”

  • Indya Moore and Angelica Ross React to 'Pose' Emmy Snubs

    Instagram

Angelica reacts to her being snubbed by the Television Academy in an emotional video on Instagram, though she tells her followers that her tears are ‘not about an award or nominees.’
    Jul 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – The 2020 Emmy Awards had announced its nominations on Tuesday, July 27 and fans noticed that some favorites were missing from the list. Among them were “Pose” trans cast members Indya Moore and Angelica Ross. Both actors unsurprisingly felt some type of way regarding the snubs, prompting them to address the matter on social media.
Indya, who play Angel on the awards-winning series, expressed their disappointment on their Twitter account. “I cNt tell nobody I deserve their sht. I didn’t invent the academy or any of the award shows. If they think my work is unworthy Chile that’s just that,” so they wrote on Tuesday.
Seemingly insinuating that they don’t need validation from cis people, Indya continued in a separate post, “Imagine if we depended on cis ppl to validate anything about us.”
Gushing over the show’s production team, they added, “Fam, ‘ We ‘ came a long way. Ever grateful @MrRPMurphy pushing us thru. Ya’ll look what @StevenCanals, a black puerto Rican from the Bronx did gurl. He said our culture is a sensation and he gagged the whole earth and wrote Pose.”

Indya Moore ranted on Twitter following Emmy snub.
Meanwhile, Angelica reacted to her being snubbed by the Television Academy in an emotional video on Instagram. Although she shed tears, Angelica told her followers that her tears were “not about an award or nominees.” Instead, it was more about a bigger issue.
“Ultimately, I need you to understand that I am so tired,” she shared. “Because those of you that know me know that I’m not just working in front of the screen or behind the lens or whatever. I’m working around the clock to get our society to value trans lives and Black trans lives. And listen, I feel what I feel because I feel like there is nothing we can do.”

Indya and Angelica are not the only high-profiles that are omitted in this year’s nominations. Also being shut out are Larry David, Elisabeth Moss, Bob Odenkirk and Reese Witherspoon among others.

A showrunner for “Heart of Texas” has yet to be appointed, but once the job is filled, Twain and Reel World Management chiefs Roma Roth and Christopher E. Perry plan to begin pitching the series to bosses at various networks and streaming services.
