  • Chris D'Elia's Prank Show Canceled by Netflix Following Sexual Misconduct Allegations

    Instagram

The Netflix project which was supposed to be co-hosted by the former ‘Whitney’ actor has been called off following allegations that he preyed on underage female fans.
    Jul 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Bosses at Netflix have scrapped plans for a prank show hosted by Chris D’Elia after he was hit with recent allegations of sexual misconduct.
The embattled comedian was set to co-host the series with Bryan Callen, but reports suggest the project was canned last month (Jun20) after several women took to social media to accuse the star of inappropriate behaviour. Some of the accusers were underage when the alleged misconduct took place.
D’Elia released a statement denying the allegations, insisting he “never knowingly pursued any underage women,” but the Netflix executives have decided not to await the outcome of the drama and they cancelled the show before production started.
“I always knew Chris as a ladies’ man; I have never seen or heard of him doing anything illegal,” Callen said on his podcast “The Fighter and the Kid”.
“Right now I have to believe that, because he’s still a friend… I just think it’s an impossible situation, and I’m just at a loss. I’m praying that what I’m hearing isn’t true… It’s like watching someone die.”
In the wake of the accusations, D’Elia has also been dropped by his representatives, while executives at Comedy Central, Hulu, and Amazon Prime have all removed an episode of the show “Workaholics”, which features D’Elia as a sexual predator.

    WENN

The 34-year-old, who used to serve as ‘The View’ co-host, shares in a new interview that she is always willing to use her skills to ‘help shows continue to grow.’
    Jul 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – There may be a The Cheetah Girls reunion between Raven-Symone and her former cast-mate Adrienne Bailon. In a new interview, Raven talked about the possibility of her joining Adrienne on “The Real” after two of its co-hosts, Amanda Seales and Tamera Mowry, exited the talk show.
“There’s always conversations to be had,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “But I’m gonna stay true to what I’ve been setting goals towards during corona, and that’s to focus on my skills as a director and EP and a creator, and really take what I’ve learned in the industry and pass it along to people that are beginning.”
The 34-year-old, who used to serve as “The View” co-host, added that she would want to “help shows continue to grow.” She went on to say, “I don’t mind helping out where they need me to. As long as we’re corona safe, I’m down for the cause.” Raven also shared that she “will never say no to a cool job.”
Now that she’s a married woman, Raven noted that she wanted a job that “allows ‘me time.’ ” She explained, “I’m gonna start a family [soon] and I need to do that. I want to make sure I’m getting into a job position that allows ‘me time,’ because let’s not forget how demanding that job was before corona, and I’m sure it’s demanding now.”
While admitting that it was “egotistical,” Raven added, “The demand that’s needed for me in the jobs that I’ve been in, have taken my life to where I have not had a personal life. It is morning to night, ‘We need you. We need you. We need you.’ And I’m like, I’m trying to cuddle.”
As for plan to have kids with wife Miranda Maday, Raven said, “I mean we just got married. Everyone talks about it then, right?”

Raven and Miranda exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in June and took to Instagram on Thursday, June 18, 2020 to share the news and a few photos with fans. “So something happened this week, that has changed my life FOR THE BETTER!” Raven wrote.
“I got married to a woman who understands me from trigger to joy, from breakfast to midnight snack, from stage to home,” she revealed beside a follow-up snap of the happy couple on its wedding day. “I love you Mrs. Pearman-Maday! Let’s tear this world a new a**hole!!! I’s married NOW (sic). Thank you to all those who helped and for those who understand why it was small during this time.”

  • 'The Crown' Will Go on Hiatus Before Imelda Staunton's Debut in 2022

    WENN

The Dolores Umbridge of the ‘Harry Potter’ movie series will not make her debut as Queen Elizabeth II on the Netflix hit royal series until 2022 as the show is expected to take a hiatus next year.
    Jul 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Imelda Staunton reportedly won’t debut as Queen Elizabeth II in “The Crown” until 2022 as producers are planning a “helpfully timed” pause before shooting season five.
The fourth season of the Netflix show is scheduled to debut later this year (20), with Olivia Colman closing out her stint as the British monarch before handing over to Imelda.
However, according to Deadline, cameras won’t start rolling again until June next year, meaning no new episodes in 2021.
Editors at the website report that the filming break is not related to the coronavirus pandemic, but sources acknowledged that the hiatus is “helpfully” timed due to the difficulty of filming its ambitious set-piece moments on location amid Covid-19 restrictions.
There was a pause between season two and three of “The Crown” as Claire Foy stepped away from the throne to be replaced by Colman. However, it was unknown if producers would take a similar approach as creator Peter Morgan only announced that there would be a sixth season earlier this month (Jul20) – reversing an earlier decision to cut the show short after series five.

  • 'RHOBH': Brandi Glanville Claims Denise Richards 'Doesn't Like' Teddi Mellencamp 'At All'

    Instagram

During a gathering at Kyle Richards’ house, Brandi tells other cast members, ‘I just want you guys to be careful with [Denise] cause she’s not who she pretends to be.’
    Jul 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Brandi Glanville drops another bombshell allegation about Denise Richards. In a new clip of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”, Brandi, who claims that she hooked up with Denise while she’s married, can be seen warning the other cast members that they need to be careful with Denise.
“Denise wants to run from the truth. She has all these feelings but she doesn’t want to say it,” Kyle Richards opens the discussion while they’re gathering at her house. Brandi then responds, “I just want you guys to be careful with her cause she’s not who she pretends to be.”
Kim Richards, however, doesn’t easily believe in what Brandi tells them, insinuating that she may be biased considering that she doesn’t have the best relationship with Denise amid the hookup rumors. “She did something to Brandi which I think is just…it’s your thing.”
“I don’t want to go totally into it, but what you see isn’t what you get,” Brandi insists as Kyle’s mouth literally drops in total shock. Turning to Teddi Mellencamp, Brandi adds, “She doesn’t like you at all. At all. She’s said horrible things about you. You’re obnoxious. You’ll do anything to be in this group cause you’ve lived under your da’s shadow all of your life. It’s just like, mean,” referring to Teddi’s rock star dad John Mellencamp.
Teddi later says in a confessional, “I gave her (Denise) the opportunity to come clean on everything she’s feeling. I know the way I’ve been feeling. Say it to my face. Cause I know the way I’ve been feeling, I’ll say it to your face.” A clip from five days prior then plays, featuring Denise and Teddi having a conversation in which Teddi asked Denise to tell her if she had something bothering her, to which Denise responded that she already did.
Back to the gathering, Brandi also claims that Denise doesn’t like Lisa Rinna either. Brandi continues explaining that when Denise is around the cast, “she’s like, ‘Why do they all want to fight me?’ ” Teddi then chimes in, “She plays this chill, laid back cool person. But she knows what she’s doing.”
When asked by Kyle why Denise tells Brandi this kind of thing, the latter says, “She feels like she can tell me things cause she has something on me.” Kyle, however, notices that Brandi looks nervous while saying that. “I’ve never seen Brandi so nervous. Normally when she’s upset it just comes spilling out of her mouth,” she alleges.

“RHOBH” airs on Wednesdays at 9 P.M. on Bravo.

Producers of the original show have reportedly been denied filming licence, as creator Ece Yorenc points out that the local opposition ‘is very frightening for the future.’
    Jul 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Netflix bosses have reportedly abandoned filming on a new series in Turkey following local opposition to a gay character.

It arrives after Deadline reported on Monday that New York entered phase 4 of its reopening plan. It was said that the plan included restrictions on capacity, crew and who is allowed on set amid coronavirus pandemic.
Prior to this, a spokesperson for “The Wendy Williams Show” told PEOPLE that the talk show would not be returning to air until it could go back into production in the studio. “The goal is to be back in studio as soon as we are allowed. If that is delayed until later in the year, we may revisit the at home shows,” the spokesperson shared.

  • Scarlett Johansson's Canceled Movie 'Rub and Tug' Developed Into TV Series

    WENN

The Dante ‘Tex’ Gill adaptation which was supposed to see ScarJo being transformed into a trans man is now heading to television with ‘Pose’ and ‘Transparent’ writer.
    Jul 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – The film that landed Scarlett Johansson in hot water for taking on the role of a trans man is set to be developed as a TV series by writer Our Lady J.
Johansson made headlines in 2018 after initially defending her casting in “Rub & Tug” against criticism the role of Dante ‘Tex’ Gill, a trans man and 1970s gangster who ran an illicit massage parlour empire in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, should have gone to a cisgender actor.
“The Avengers” star later quit the project, which at the time was to be directed by Rupert Sanders.
Now, the project has been given a new life with bosses at New Regency announcing that Emmy nominee Our Lady J, who has worked on “Pose” and “Transparent”, is set to pen the pilot episode of a new series.
While there has been no casting news announced, Our Lady J has released a statement noting that the producers will be seeking a trans actor for the role.
“Tex’s life story is like no other, and the rich landscape of this unexplored moment in time has truly captured my imagination,” Our Lady J said in a statement. “I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to write a gangster drama based on such a fascinating and diverse web of queer characters.
“The show is about the promise of reinvention, and the peril of losing oneself in the process. Tex Gill was out and proud in an era – the late 1970s – when living authentically came with the price of social ostracization, leaving him vulnerable to a life of crime and lawlessness. Having grown up in Pennsylvania myself, I’m also excited to delve deep into Pittsburgh’s underbelly as it unspools the story of Tex’s remarkable life.”
After stepping down from the role of Tex Gill, Johansson told Out Magazine the drama had served as a life lesson for her.
“Our cultural understanding of transgender people continues to advance, and I’ve learned a lot from the community since making my first statement about my casting and realise it was insensitive,” she said. “I have great admiration and love for the trans community and am grateful that the conversation regarding inclusivity in Hollywood continues.”
