  • 'RHOBH': Garcelle Beauvais Unfollows Lisa Rinna Because of Denise Richards

    WENN

It is said that the newcomer of the Bravo show makes the decision to cut ties with her longtime friend Lisa because she chooses to support Denise, who is also her friend for so long.
    Jul 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – The cast members of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills recently taped for season 10 reunion which apparently caused rift among the Housewives. Denise Richards unfollowed half of the Bravo show’s cast including Lisa Rinna, who was also unfollowed by newcomer Garcelle Beauvais.
It was kind of surprising because Garcelle is a longtime friend of Lisa. Apparently, Garcelle made the decision to cut ties with Lisa because she chose to support Denise, who is also her friend for so long. “Garcelle unfollowed Lisa Rinna because she wanted to show support for Denise,” a source claims to HollywoodLife.com.
“Garcelle and Denise have been friends for years and Garcelle has also been friends with Rinna for years, but she is fully supporting Denise,” the insider explains. The source adds that Garcelle “feels [Denise is] getting attacked by the other ladies for no reason and she feels like Rinna is going way, way too hard on her. She did it because she wanted to show that she’s Team Denise.”
It seems like the reunion will see the cast confronting Denise about the alleged hookup between her and former “RHOBH” co-star Brandi Glanville. Things apparently took a nasty turn during the taping as Lisa went as far as labeling the reunion “bulls**t” in a now-deleted Instagram Stories post.
“Reunion was bulls**t today,” so she wrote on her account on Friday, July 17. “I’ve never said that in 6 years. I guess cease and desists work.” It was believed that Lisa was referring to the cease and desist letter that Denise Richards issued to Brandi, who claimed that they were hooking up.
Teddi Mellencamp, meanwhile, took to her Instagram account to share a selfie. “Woke up day after the 13 hour reunion feeling fresh as a daisy ready for a productive day…,” the TV star captioned the snap.
Season 10 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” is heavily focused on the alleged affair between Denise and Brandi. “I f**k her, woke up the next morning [and] she said, ‘[my husband] Aaron [Phypers] can never know this. He’ll kill me,’ ” Brandi claimed in a clip promoting the season. She also said to a fan that Denise “sent me a cease-and-desist I will not talk about her.”
In one episode, the Housewives confronted Denise about Brandi’s claims which Denise vehemently denied. That prompted Lisa to blast Denise for being a “hypocrite” as she was always so open while discussing other personal details, but remained mum about the alleged hook-up with Brandi.

  • Alicia Silverstone Remembers 'Adorable' Brittany Murphy on 25th Anniversary of 'Clueless'

    WENN

When celebrating the beloved 1995 film with Vogue, the actress best known as Cher Horowitz opens up about her impression of her late co-star when the latter first auditioned for the role of Tai Frasier.
    Jul 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Alicia Silverstone has paid tribute to her late “Clueless” co-star Brittany Murphy on the 25th anniversary of the film.
Murphy passed away at the age on 32 in December, 2009 but she was on Alicia’s mind as the 43-year-old was celebrating their beloved 1995 film with Vogue last week (ends July 17).
Alicia revealed she was blown away with Brittany’s acting talents when she first auditioned for her role of Tai Frasier.
“I just remember thinking she was so great for the part,” Alicia said. “I can’t remember how many girls came in to audition for Tai that day and I don’t know if I saw a few girls for it or just her, but I remember Brittany being really adorable.”
“She’s so good at the little accent because she had one already, but I think she just pushed it to new heights. I found her so wonderful and I said to (director) Amy (Heckerling) right away, ‘I think she’s the one…’ She was like, ‘Uh yeah, duh. Of course she was the best. She’s the one.’ ”

Alicia also recalled working with fellow teenager Brittany on the set, “I remember her mom was on set a lot. I brought my mom around a little bit and we would all spend time together. But I don’t think we had any intellectual idea about us being up-and-comers in a big movie because we didn’t know we were in a big movie.”

  • Keke Palmer Denies Rumors That 'Strahan, Sara and Keke' Is Canceled Due to Her Activism

    Walt Disney Television/Heidi Gutman

While admitting to hating ‘talking about business’ on social media, Keke still wants to address the matter ‘so that no one ever feels or thinks that speaking out will cost them their job!’
    Jul 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Keke Palmer is clearing things up. The TV personality has broken her silence regarding rumors about the cancellation of her “Good Morning America talk show “Strahan, Sara and Keke”, which also featured Michael Strahan and Sara Haines.
As the decision to pull the plug on the show arrived amid Black Lives Matter movement around the country, many people assumed that it might have something to dowith Keke’s active involvement in the movement. “Ain’t it weird how Keke Palmer was seen protesting and preaching to the police about Racism in our country the ABC decides to cancel her show,” one fan said in a post, which later Keke reposted on her Instagram account on Saturday, July 18.
“I want to speak on this simply because I hate the narrative that if you speak your mind as a black person that you will in some way be punished,” Keke explained in the caption. “I have seen this going around and at first I ignored but in this climate I realized this is a dangerous message to send to our generation and the generation coming up.”
Denying that her activism was the reason behind the cancellation, Keke, who previously made headlines after a video of her at a Los Angeles protest went viral, went on saying, “If anything my speaking out showed the corporations I work with how important my voice is and anyone that has a POV. The reality is I was never signed to ‘SSK’ as one would a seasonal show. This business is dynamic and instead of thinking of me as a ‘series regular’ see me see me as a brand that works with the corporation Disney/ABC News and this particular show I was on is no longer. That does not mean the relationship I have with them dies, that means it evolves.”
Keke admitted to hating “talking about business” on social media, but still she wanted to address the matter “so that no one ever feels or thinks that speaking out will cost them their job!” She continued writing, “That way more of us with our own minds speak out against any injustices we see. Trust me, walking in my truth has always made my blessings OVERFLOW and connect to those that are like minded and not with those that are not. Do not believe this lie. Stay courageous and stay true because GOD HAS YOU ALWAYS.”

Earlier this month, it was reported that ABC axed “Strahan, Sara and Keke” and replaced it with “GMA 3: What You Need to Know”, featuring Amy Robach, Dr. Jen Ashton and occasionally TJ Holmes giving a daily coronavirus report. A source told Page Six at the time, “It was initially supposed to be a two-week experiment and the show did really well.”

  • Josh Gad: Kristen Bell Recasting on 'Central Park' Is 'Learning Lesson' to Fight for Racial Equality

    YouTube

The ‘Central Park’ co-creator hopes the decision to recast Kristen Bell’s character on the animated TV show becomes a ‘learning lesson’ for him and others to continue the fight for equality.
    Jul 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Josh Gad hopes his decision to recast Kristen Bell’s character on “Central Park” will remind others of the need to fight for equality.
The actress announced on 24 June (20) that she would no longer be voicing the role of biracial Molly Tillerman on the Apple TV+ series, with showrunners instead hiring a Black or multiracial actress to take on the part.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Gad, who co-created the series with Loren Bouchard and Nora Smith, said, “I could not love Kristen Bell more than I already knew I loved her, because it wasn’t even a discussion It was – this is what we’re going to all do collectively to make sure that we get this right.”
He continued, “In terms of finding the person to replace Kristen as Molly, it’s a really hard task. I will say that we’ve been immersed already in listening to so many unbelievable auditions, and some very well known people, some not well known people.”
The star added he’s been “blown away” by the performances he’s listened to already, but insisted he hopes the wider implications surrounding the change are noted and echoed by other production companies.
“I think what’s really amazing is the conversations that have risen out of this. You’ve seen immediate change, I think, across the board on the surface level,” he mused of the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement. “How do you continue to make sure that there are opportunities that aren’t just flashy, but opportunities from the writers room down? Animation, directors, producers – where do you continue to do better? How do you continue to do better?”
He concluded, “I think that conversation is really driving a lot of the decisions moving forward, not only Central Park but everything I’m involved with – and it’s exciting to see.”

  • Terrence Howard Postpones Retirement Plans for TV Series 'Delta Blues'

    WENN

The ‘Empire’ alum will star on and direct the pilot of the new series, which is based on the real life of W.C. Handy, who is widely considered the godfather of blues music.
    Jul 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Terrence Howard has delayed his retirement plans after signing on to star in and direct a new TV series, titled “Delta Blues”.
The “Empire” star announced his retirement from acting in September (19), noting he intended to step away from the screen after the conclusion of the hit series, but he appears to have changed his mind, thanks to a great pilot script.
“(The script is) better than bacon,” he tells Deadline. “I was done but I am putting retirement on hold to tell this story.”
Terrence will mark his directorial debut with the one-hour television pilot, based on the life of W.C. Handy, who is widely considered the godfather of blues music.
The show centers around Handy’s role in music history, starting off in the Mississippi Delta, where the blues legend left his fabled Mahara’s Minstrels show to pursue a solo career after partnering with masonic group the Knights of Pythias.
“This story is about our history and has to be handled very carefully,” Howard explains. “I am committed to telling the truths of the times, even the uncomfortable truths.”

Evan Ross will co-star and serve as an executive producer in partnership with executives at Zero Gravity Management, the brains behind hit Netflix drama “Ozark”.
“When I read this script, it spoke to me and I knew I had to be a part of it,” Evan gushes. “This is a timely project with what is transpiring in our country today. To tell our history and our music history and to be able show the horrors that we have overcome to succeed is powerful and I am excited to be teamed with Terrence and Zero Gravity to make it happen.”
“The characters in this project are real people that should be household names, but history has erased them from the schoolbooks. ‘Delta Blues’ is a musical celebration of our people, as much as it is a celebration of our strength and fortitude.”
