'American Idol' Hopeful Funke Lagoke Emotionally Addresses Fear of Being Highlighted Over Stage Fall

    ABC

Taking to Instagram Live, the singing contestant opens up about how she wishes her time on the show showcases her voice and skills as a performer instead of her ’embarrassing’ moment.

    Mar 24, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Funke Lagoke struggled to make peace with how she was portrayed on “American Idol”. After the scene of her falling forward onto the stage was aired in the Monday, March 22 episode of the competition series, the singing hopeful got emotional talking about her fear over the embarrassing highlight.

Funke took to Instagram Live to explain how she felt over the coverage. “As a performer, you want to be highlighted in the best way possible,” she said in the video that has since been deleted. “And every time I was reminded that I was going to get showcased for this fall, the line I keep telling myself is, ‘I am so much more than my fall. I am so much more than my fall’.”

She went on saying, as quoted by Good Housekeeping, “I come with so much more, those that know me know that, and I pray that America and whoever saw this saw that even when we fall in life we’re gonna get back up again, and we’re going to fight for another day.”

Funke added that the only thing she wanted to be highlighted was her voice. “That was not how I wanted to be presented the first time … But it’s okay because I know God has something I can’t see right now. I wanted to be highlighted so much for my voice, I did,” she shared. “And they did show something, but I’m so much more than that.”

Aside from her address via Instagram Live, Funke posted a photo of herself oozing off strong aura in a purple outfit and big golden necklace. ” ‘WE ARE ALL SO MUCH MORE THAN OUR FALL’ – Funmike W Lagoke #IamMoreThanMyFall,” so she captioned the Tuesday, March 23 post.

Friends and fans have since commented on Funke’s Instagram post. “Shoutout to my bestfriend @funkelagoke You sound amazing tonight, Never forget #immorethanmyfall,” one comment read. Another screamed out Funke’s hash-tag, “‘WE ARE MORE THAN OUR FALLS!’ @FUNKELAGOKE. ”

Funke Lagoke showered with encouraging comments by fans and friends.

Funke’s mortifying moment unraveled after she and fellow hopeful Ronda Felton delivered a duet performance of “Tell Him”. When Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie began to give their feedback to the duo, the 28-year-old suddenly fainted onstage, prompting the judges and producers to rush to her aid. It was later revealed that she got treated for dehydration in the hospital.

Kenya Moore 'Genuinely Sorry' for Native American Costume, Bravo Hopes It to Be Teachable Moment

    Instagram

‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star is facing backlash for ‘cultural appropriation’ after dressing up as a ‘warrior princess’ to a costume party in the March 21 episode of the hit reality show.

    Mar 24, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Kenya Moore has expressed remorse for her offensive Halloween costume. Having come under fire for wearing a Native American headdress and costume in an episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”, the reality TV star said she was “genuinely sorry,” leading Bravo to share hope it could serve as a teachable moment.

The 50-year-old issued her apologetic statement via Twitter on Tuesday, March 23. “I want to sincerely apologize for inappropriately wearing the Native American headdress as a costume,” she said. “I now realize that this was both disrespectful and insensitive and would never have done it if I had that knowledge and understanding beforehand. I regret it. When you know better, you do better. I am genuinely sorry.”

Kenya Moore apologized for her offensive Halloween costume.

Also responding to the cultural appropriation controversy was the series’ network. “Bravo aims to have the highest standards of respect and inclusivity and we recognize that the recent episode of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’, in which a cast member wears a Native American costume, did not uphold those values,” it said in a statement to the press.

“We had hoped it would provide a teachable moment, however in retrospect it is clear that the network did not address this properly given the gravity of the situation,” the network continued in its message. “We apologize to both the Native American community and our audience as a whole.”

Kenya faced backlash for “cultural appropriation” after dressing up as a “warrior princess” to a costume party in the Sunday, March 21 episode of “RHOA”. Some of her co-stars also took issue with her wardrobe choice. One in particular was Drew Sidora who stated in a confessional, “Kenya’s Native American costume is super problematic but I ain’t trying to ruffle no feathers for this girls’ trip.”

Drew went on, “It feels like I’m always the only one that sees the issues with Kenya Moore’s decisions.” Porsha Williams chimed in by stating, “Kenya is a Native American warrior. I thought we weren’t doing that no more. Like, I knew that this girl was crazy, but add lame to the list, add whack to the list.”

On Monday, March 22, a nonprofit initiative named IllumiNative condemned Kenya’s costume. “We are deeply disturbed by last night’s episode of #RHOA in which @thekenyamoore wore a Native American ‘warrior princess’ costume,” the organization stated on Twitter and Instagram. “Costumes that mock Native peoples, defame our traditions and cultures, and perpetuate negative stereotypes are racist.”

” ‘Playing Indian’ is a form of mascotry that is not just offensive, it is part of a long history of how Native peoples have been dehumanized,” the nonprofit further argued. “It is important that @bravotv, @comcast, @nbcuniversal, @bravoandy and @thekenyamoore apologize for the harm they have caused Native peoples and commit to ensuring offensive displays like this never happen again. Native people are not a costume.”

“Who do we blame when you make a mistake?” Legend responds, prompting the newcomer to quip, “Her!”

Kelsea was also quick to carry on Kelly’s tradition of poking fun at the other coaches, telling Shelton, “Hey Blake, have I ever told you that you look like my dad?”

Ruby Rose Has Nothing But Good Vibes Over Wallis Day's Casting as Kate Kane on 'Batwoman'

    WENN/Instagram/FayesVision

One day after the British actress was unraveled to have taken over her role, ‘The Meg’ star turns to social media to make it clear she knew all about the former’s casting beforehand.

    Mar 23, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Ruby Rose has given British actress Wallis Day a big thumbs up after she took over the “Batwoman” role of Kate Kane on TV on Sunday night, March 21.

Wallis made her debut as the character on the CW series, which Ruby exited after just one season in 2020, and fans felt sure there was a bat beef between the Australian and the new star after Rose hinted she would be happy to return to the role in a post last week.

“The Meg” star wrote, “I’m obviously moving on to other roles as I think I’ve done about three films since, but I would totally do it [reprise Kane]… I would absolutely do anything they wanted.”

But Rose returned to social media on Monday to make it clear she knew all about Day’s casting and was thrilled for the new Batwoman.

“I’m sorry I didn’t congratulate @wallisday yesterday,” Ruby wrote on Instagram. “I knew about the casting beforehand and didn’t know when it aired so i forgot to.”

      See also…

“But I’m stoked for her! I’m seeing all the things I’m tagged in with people sad or wondering how I felt… I feel great I have nothing but good vibes.”

Ruby Rose congratulated Wallis Day for her ‘Batwoman’ casting.

Rose’s Kane was seemingly written out of the show following a mysterious plane crash at the beginning of the new season of the show, and Javicia Leslie took over the lead role as new character Ryan Wilder.

Wallis herself has expressed her excitement over her casting on Instagram. “I’m sure you can imagine how much this means to me and how incredible it’s been working on the show so far,” the 26-year-old declared in the post.

“It’s a huge responsibility stepping into the shoes of a character that’s already been established and it’s a journey I’m looking forward to being a part of and hoping you guys do too,” she added. “Everyone’s made me feel so welcome and it’s amazing being back home with my DC family.”

'RHOA' Co-Stars LaToya Ali and Falynn Guobadia Almost Get Physical After Heated Argument

    Instagram

The heated argument takes place as the ladies gather at Falynn’s house for Halloween party where LaToya makes unpleasant comments about Falynn’s house and her husband.

    Mar 23, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” newcomer LaToya Ali apparently has established herself as the reality show’s new villain. She made enemies with almost everyone in the season as she nearly got in a physical altercation with Falynn Guobadia after making comments on the latter’s husband.

The argument took place as the ladies gathered at Falynn’s house for Halloween party. LaToya appeared to get on Falynn’s nerves as she started demanding that Falynn mixed her a drink instead of mixing it for herself like everyone else did. However, the last straw was when she gave Falynn a backhanded compliment about her house and husband.

LaToya mentioned about Falynn having a 65-year-old husband, while actually Simon is 56-year-old. She kept making such comments until at one point, Falynn was ready to go at her with a golf stick before Kandi Burruss and others stopped her.

“This is actually not even funny. You cannot come in somebody’s home and disrespect their home and their husband…,” Cynthia Bailey commented on the matter in confessional.

      See also…

Fans were also not impressed by LaToya’s behavior. “Toya messy and I wouldn’t want her as a friend she seem gossipy and an attention seeker. I’m not sure what kind of friendship her and [Kenya Moore] have. Weird combination,” one Instagram comment read. Another person said, “Latoya is jealous of Falynn I can tell.”

“They should’ve let falynn buss her upside her head with that damn club one good time lol,” one user commented. “Falynn better than me cause as soon as Latoya would of been getting rude in my house, she would of been kicked out. Im surprised Falynn let her stay that long. And Latoya needs to drive off you said you was leaving so leave,” one person wrote.

That was actually not the first time LaToya made unpleasant remarks about Simon. Prior to this, she said that Falynn looked like the type of person who dates “older men with money.”

'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' Claims Title of Disney Plus' Most-Watched Series Premiere

    Disney+

Debuting on March 19, the Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan-starring show is said to have drawn more viewers over the weekend than ‘WandaVision’ and ‘The Mandalorian’.

    Mar 23, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” has broken Disney+ records to become the streaming service’s most-watched series premiere.

The Marvel spin-off, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, debuted on Friday, March 19 and drew more viewers over the weekend than hits “WandaVision” and the two seasons of “The Mandalorian”.

The site’s bosses have not released specific viewing figures, but confirm the premiere of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” is bigger than that of “Wandavision”, which wrapped its first season earlier this month (March 2021).

Disney bosses have more Marvel content planned for the streamer – “Loki” will drop in June, while “Hawkeye” and “Ms. Marvel” is expected to debut later in 2021.

      See also…

In addition to Mackie and Stan, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” also has Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Bruhl in its cast ensemble. Both Mackie and Stan reprise their roles as Sam Wilson a.k.a. Falcon and Bucky Barnes a.k.a. Winter Soldier respectively.

Directed by Kari Skogland, this MCU series was written by Malcolm Spellman. Its first episode picks up six months after the events in “Avengers: Endgame” that saw Captain America handing his shield to Wilson.

When promoting the series, Mackie was asked about becoming Marvel’s most prominent Black superhero in the wake of Chadwick Boseman’s passing. “I never thought about the passing of Chadwick being an opportunity for Sam Wilson,” he told The Guardian.

“Chad and I had a lot in common, being from the south and being classically trained from the theater,” he elaborated. “I think that’s why we grew so much as individuals, because there was an understanding. So, I would like to keep up his legacy as an individual human being and as a man, more than keeping up his legacy as Black Panther.”

David Hasselhoff Simply Excited to Play Himself in German TV Series

    Instagram

Alongside German actor Henry Hubchen, the former star of ‘Knight Rider’ will lead the show that is titled ‘Ze Network’ and described as an international conspiracy story.

    Mar 23, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
David Hasselhoff is heading to German TV to play a fictionalized version of himself in a new series. The “Baywatch” star will appear in “Ze Network”, alongside German actor Henry Hubchen, who will also play a heightened version of himself, with the show described as an international conspiracy story.

“Ze Network”, produced for RTL streaming service TV Now, will see David land the lead role in a German stage show, only to be plunged into the center of a conspiracy of former Cold War assassins while the fabric of reality seems to break down around him.

David, who will also serve as an executive producer, said of the show, “Knight Rider was incredibly successful for both me and RTL. Returning now 30 years later to do a cutting-edge series and working with RTL again is a dream come true. The series is funny, deadly, creative and informative… simply exciting. Fact or fiction, you decide.”

“Dogs of Berlin” creator Christian Alvart is set to direct “Ze Network”. Speaking of his future collaboration with David for the series, he stated, “I can’t wait to share with audiences the crazy ride Mr. Hasselhoff will be bravely taking on with ‘Ze Germans’.”

This won’t be the first time the star has played a fictional version of himself – he did the same in “Hoff the Record”, a sitcom which ran for two seasons from 2015 on U.K. TV channel Dave.

He also appeared in the 2017 movie “Killing Hasselhoff”, in which Ken Jeong portrayed a cash-strapped nightclub owner who hires a hitman to kill the star in a bid to win a celebrity death pool and revive his fortunes.
