The ‘Ted Lasso’ co-creator and star gives his ex-fiancee a shout-out when delivering his speech for Best Comedy Series, crediting her for giving him the idea to make the Apple TV-Plus series.

    Mar 9, 2021
AceShowbiz – Jason Sudeikis thanked his ex Olivia Wilde for coming up with the idea of his “Ted Lasso” TV show, after the Apple TV+ programme won big at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday night (March 7).
The actor – who split from Olivia in November (2020) after seven years together – scooped Best Actor in a Comedy Series for the show, while the programme won Best Comedy Series and Hannah Waddingham took home Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
In his remote acceptance speech for Best Comedy Series, Jason gave a shout out to Olivia, and credited her with the idea for the programme.
“Holy Smokes, OK. A great number of you have been so vocal about your enjoyment of this show and we’ve greatly appreciated it…” he said. “I want to thank my kids, Otis and Daisy, and I want to thank their mom, Olivia, who had the initial idea for this as a TV show. She was like, ‘You guys like doing that so much, you should do it as a movie or a TV show,’ and she was right!”

“This has been a wack-a** year, and this has been a wonderful vessel to hear people’s stories of forgiveness and redemption and heeling and understanding.”

And following his victories, Olivia took to Twitter to congratulate her former partner, writing, “Congrats to Jason and the entire Ted Lasso family on your @CriticsChoice wins! @jasonsudeikis @hanwaddingham @brendanhunting @joekellyjk47 @VDOOZER! So happy for you guys.”

Olivia Wilde applauded Jason Sudeikis for winning big at 2021 Critics’ Choice Awards.
And in a nod to the casual attire again worn by her former partner – with whom she has kids Otis, six, and Daisy, four – to accept the award, a week after he donned a rainbow tie-dyed hoodie to the Golden Globe Awards, she added, “I hope this means we all keep wearing hoodies when the ceremonies are in person next year.”

'RHOA': Porsha Williams Believes Kenya Moore Leaked StripperGate Story to Media

    Instagram

Porsha isn’t the only one who thinks so as Drew Sidora, a new cast member of the Bravo reality TV show, agrees, adding that she doesn’t like how Kenya tries to conduct an ‘investigation’ into the matter.

    Mar 8, 2021
AceShowbiz – “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” season 13 returned with a new episode on Sunday, March 7. The new outing saw the ladies discussing how the headline-making StripperGate, where Porsha Williams and Tanya Sam allegedly had sex with male stripper Bolo at Cynthia Bailey’s bachelorette party, got leaked to the media.
Cynthias and her sister were the first ones to find out about it as they saw an article which headline read, “Two ‘RHOA’ stars allegedly had sex with stripper at Cynthia Bailey’s bachelorette.” Cynthia told Malorie that it wasn’t her who had sex with Bolo, though she couldn’t say the same when it came to her co-stars.
When the Housewives gathered later, they tried to figure out how the story got leaked and Porsha appeared to think that Kenya Moore, who was the most “pressed” about the hookup, was the one responsible for it. “In Page Six, they were saying it was a threesome,” Shamea Morton told Porsha after the ladies gathered for a hayride. “This went from us having a bachelorette party to now this has gone in the blogs? It just seems like a lot,” Porsha responded.

Later in a confessional, Porsha shared that she believed that the leak was all Kenya’s doing. “It seems like a Kenya leak. It seems like a low-down, ‘Ehh this b***h’ type of leak. You might as well put it right there [at the top of the article], ‘Written by Kenya Moore.’ ”
Porsha wasn’t the only one who thought so. New cast member Drew Sidora also agreed, adding that she didn’t like how Kenya tried to conduct an “investigation” to try to find out who allegedly had sex with the stripper. Marlo Hampton suggested Porsha to talk with Kenya but Porsha refused, saying, “I don’t f*** with” her.
Kenya did talk about the StripperGate a lot after the story came out. “I heard a lot — and other people heard a lot, very specific things. Very specific things and very specific voices,” so she shared in an interview.
She also revealed that she found it unfair “that people will call that pot-stirring” as she argued, “We are a cast, and we are in a cast house, and if something happens like that in a cast house while you are working, then it should be discussed. You can’t do that at McDonald’s! You can’t go in the bathroom at McDonald’s and have sex with someone and think it’s OK because hey, you know, you were in the closet. No. You’re at work.”

'Step Up' Star Terrence Green Disciplined for Making 'Threatening' Gesture at Cop on Set

    Instagram

The actor who plays Rigo Octavio on the TV adaptation of the Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan movie faces punishment for allegedly making a ‘threatening’ gesture at police on the set.

    Mar 7, 2021
AceShowbiz – Actor Terrence Green has been disciplined after reportedly making a threatening gesture to a policeman while filming his Starz show “Step Up”.
According to TMZ, Green – who stars as Rigo in the television programme – was shooting scenes for the show at a courthouse in Atlanta, Georgia, this week, when he is said to have approached a cop and made a gesture as though pointing a gun.
Apparently, the officer was not amused, and Starz are now planning to issue “strong disciplinary action” to Green due to his behaviour.
“We do not condone any on-set behaviour, even a gesture, that suggests or simulates violence toward another individual,” a spokesperson said, declining to elaborate on the nature of the disciplinary action.

Green has yet to comment on the report on his social media pages.
The TV series was based on the movie of the same name originally starring Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan. The actor and his former wife served as producers for the TV adaptation.
The show starred Lauryn McClain and Ne-Yo as well.
Former “Glee” actress Naya Rivera was also among the cast members. She was replaced by Christina Milian in the third season following her tragic death in July 2020.
Terrence Green was among the people hit hard by Naya’s passing due to their close relationship. When she was first reported missing, the actor wrote on Instagram, “Aye God…I know we ask a lot of you…because we know what you’re capable of…do that thing you do because I can’t think straight.”

'Pose' Bidding Farewell With Upcoming Third Season

    FX

Billy Porter and his co-stars won’t be back for another season when the upcoming third installment of their hit television drama series comes to an end.

    Mar 6, 2021
AceShowbiz – Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s hit TV drama “Pose” is to end after its upcoming third season.
The acclaimed show, starring Billy Porter, will return to the small screen in May for seven final episodes.
“We got to tell the exact story we wanted, as we wanted to tell it, and I’m incredibly honored and grateful,” co-creator Murphy said in a statement Friday (05Mar21).

      See also…

Co-creator Steven Canals adds, ” ‘Write the TV show you want to watch!’ That’s what I was told in 2014, while completing my MFA in screenwriting. At the time we weren’t seeing very many black and Latinx characters – that happened to also be LGBTQ+ – populating screens. And so I wrote the first draft of a pilot the ‘younger me’ deserved.”
“Pose was conceived as a love letter to the underground N.Y. ballroom community, to my beloved New York, to my queer and trans family, to myself. I, along with my incredible collaborators, never intended on changing the TV landscape. I simply wanted to tell an honest story about family, resilience and love. How fortunate am I to have done that for three seasons.”
“I’m filled with gratitude to our intrepid writers, cast, crew, and producers who worked tirelessly to make Pose come to life, humbled by our loyal audience, thankful to the ballroom community who trusted us to tell their story, overwhelmed by the critics who warmly embraced us, and forever indebted to Ryan Murphy… for changing my life.”

'Ginny and Georgia' Star Thanks Fans for Support as Taylor Swift Calls the Show 'Lazy' and 'Sexist'

    Instagram/Ezra Pounds

Antonia Gentry is grateful for support from her fans after the ‘Love Story’ hitmaker fires back at the actress’ Netflix show for taking a dig at the singer over her love life.

    Mar 6, 2021
AceShowbiz – Antonia Gentry, the star of Netflix’s “Ginny & Georgia”, has thanked fans for their support after backlash from a joke referencing Taylor Swift on the show.
The “Love Story” singer took aim at the programme earlier this week, following the joke, “What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift.”
“Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back,” she tweeted. “How about we stop degrading hard-working women by defining this horse s**t as FuNnY.”
Gentry, who stars as Ginny Miller in the show, didn’t address the Swift situation directly in her lengthy post on Instagram, but instead used the opportunity to thank her devotees for their unwavering support.
“Thank you for the love and support you have shown me and our show, Ginny and Georgia, over the last week. I never would have imagined something like this as a young girl – that is, having a voice capable of impact,” she wrote.
“It is so meaningful to see the hundreds of messages from fans in my inbox who feel seen, heard and understood because of the show and its characters. It has also been fun to hear from those who were just happy to be along for an entertaining ride.”

      See also…

She went on to add that playing Ginny Miller gave her the opportunity to reflect a character that was more true to her own identity than anything she’d seen portrayed on screen before.
“Finally, a character who was just as confused and imperfect as I was gets a chance to exist. Ginny Miller, though fictional, is a character who reflects all of life’s contradictions and imperfections,” she said.
“She is a character among many in the show who implicate us all. She shows us our own biases, prejudices and injustices. She loves, she lies and she stands up for what she believes in – even though she may not have all of her facts straight.”
“She makes mistakes — morally, mentally, physically, emotionally — and not just within herself, but within the broken world she lives in,” Gentry said, saying that she is “delighted” to work with “talented, earnest and honest women who aren’t afraid of pulling back the curtain and exposing all of life’s intricacies — the good and the bad, all with a glass of wine in hand, and a tongue in cheek.”

Concluding, Gentry thanked “all of the people who have sent hundreds of messages about feeling seen for the first time, whether through Ginny or another character in Ginny and Georgia” for their “voices and inspiration.”
