Simon Cowell Back as Judge for 'America's Got Talent' Season 16

    NBC

The British music mogul is set to return to join Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara for the upcoming season after taking a break following bicycle accident.

    Mar 4, 2021
AceShowbiz – Simon Cowell is returning to”America’s Got Talent” alongside Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara.
The new season of the long-running talent show will see the same judging panel back for the 16th series while Terry Crews will return as host.
A press release states, “To celebrate the return of America’s favourite judging panel, “AGT” will be hosting one final nationwide ‘Last Chance Audition’ for the upcoming season on Saturday, March 6.”
Hopefuls need to register over at AGTAuditions.com to book “a virtual audition slot” to be in with the chance of performing in front of the judges.
Last summer (20), Kelly Clarkson – who was judged by Simon when she appeared on, and won, the first series of “American Idol” – stepped in to temporarily replace the 61-year-old music mogul, after he was rushed to hospital to undergo a six-hour surgery after falling off his electric bicycle at his home in Malibu, California.
As a result of his injuries, he wasn’t able to appear on the panel for the first few episodes of the NBC show.

However, Simon recently revealed he is feeling “better” now than before he broke his back in August.
In a joint interview with his co-star Sofia, he said, “I’ve got to be honest with you, it wasn’t that bad actually breaking your back. I mean it wasn’t great for 3 to 4 weeks but after that you get through it. I had to do so much exercise now. I actually feel better than I did before the accident.”
He then quipped, “If you want to feel healthier, break your back.”
Simon also joked that his co-stars had a “better time” without him.
But Sofia insisted he was wrong and claimed she had “nightmares” about his condition.
She said, “For me I had nightmares, it was heart-breaking to me not to have Simon my first season. I thought I needed him to back me up and teach me, to guide me. I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep, I lost like 6lbs, I cried myself to sleep.”
A release date for the premiere of the 16th season of “AGT” will be confirmed in due course.

ITV Wins U.K. Bidding War on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Interview With Oprah Winfrey

    CBS

The highly-anticipated television sit-down between the Duke and pregnant Duchess of Sussex and the former daytime show host is set to air for U.K. audience on ITV.

    Mar 4, 2021
AceShowbiz – ITV will broadcast Oprah Winfrey’s interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The 67-year-old American chat show legend has filmed the couple’s first major interview since stepping away from the British royal family, and now the U.K. network has confirmed it will air on March 8 at 9pm, as well as being made available on the ITV Hub.
Kevin Lygo – ITV’s Managing Director Media and Entertainment – commented, “This interview is already a national talking point and ITV is pleased to be able to offer U.K. audiences the opportunity to see it.”
The TV event sees Winfrey speaking to Meghan – who is pregnant with her second child, a sibling for 21-month-old Archie – in a “wide-ranging interview” dealing with marriage, motherhood, life as a royal, her philanthropic work and more.
A previous statement from CBS confirming the news of the interview read, “Winfrey will speak with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.”

“Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”
In a previous teaser clip for the interview, Harry – who, along with his wife, stepped back from royal life and moved to America a year ago – revealed he was worried about “history repeating itself.”
The 36-year-old prince seemingly referenced his late mother Princess Diana – who died in a Paris car crash in 1997 at the age of 36 – as he discussed how thankful he is to have Meghan, known as Meghan Markle before she married Harry, by his side during some “unbelievably tough” times and admitted he “can’t begin to imagine” how difficult things were for his parent, who gave up the Her Royal Highness title after divorcing his father Prince Charles in 1996.
He said, “My biggest concern was history repeating itself.”
“For me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side.”

Rachel Lindsay Criticizes Franchise for Moving Forward With 'Bachelorette' Production Amid Scandal

    WENN

The former ‘The Bachelorette’ star also addresses Taylor Nolan’s resurfaced racist tweets in which she insulted minority groups such as Jews, Asian Americans and Indians.

    Mar 3, 2021
AceShowbiz – Rachel Lindsay thinks it’s to soon for “The Bachelor” franchise to move forward amid racism scandal involving host Chris Harrison and current contestant of Matt James’ “The Bachelor” season Rachael Kirkconnell. In a new episode of her podcast, Lindsay suggested that the franchise needs to resolve the issue before going into a production for new season of “The Bachelorette”.
“They’re about to go into production for ‘The Bachelorette’,” Lindsay, who recently deactivated her Instagram account due to online harassment, said in the Tuesday, March 2 episode of “Higher Learning”. “I think they should just stop until … they get the train back on the tracks.”
The former “The Bachelorette” star went on to say, “You’re going to go another season, but you still have all of these issues. How have you fixed them coming into a new season? You really haven’t. I think that they need to take a beat, figure things out, regroup and then bring the product back to us in a way that we can all enjoy it like we used to.”

During the episode, Lindsay also addressed Taylor Nolan’s resurfaced racist tweets. The posts saw Nolan insulting minority groups such as Jews, Asian Americans and Indians in addition to using several homophobic and fat phobic slurs.
“I think people are very upset and shocked and disappointed. I’ll throw myself in there,” said Lindsay. Of Nolan, who starred in Nick Viall’s “The Bachelor” season alongside Lindsay, the latter added, “She’s been very vocal, she’s been very definitive in what she believes and then to see something that is so opposite of that – it’s shocking. At first, I was like, ‘Is this real?’ ”
“I have the same energy with Taylor that I have with anybody who does something that’s wrong,” she went on to say. “I said the same thing with Chris Harrison even though that message seems to be getting lost,” she said. “I said the same thing with Rachael [Kirkconnell]. You’re never going to hear me say, ‘Cancel this person. This person is done. I’m done with them’ What you’ll hear my say is, ‘We have to hold this person accountable.’ ”

    Mar 3, 2021
AceShowbiz – “The Voice” season 20 aired its second episode on Tuesday, March 2. Featuring the second part of Blind Auditions, the new outing saw coaches Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, John Legend and Blake Shelton trying to get talented singers on their team.
The first contestant to perform that night was Gean Garcia, the son of a Spanish Christian artist named John Carlos. He opted to sing “All I Wanted” by Kodaline and it was such a stunning performance as all the coaches turned for him though Nick was blocked by Blake. Gean eventually picked Kelly as his coach.
Aaron Konzelman then hit the stage to sing “Ordinary World” by Duran Duran. His special rendition piqued Blake and John’s interest as they both hit their button. The coaches fought to get Aaron on their respective team but Aaron chose to be on Team Blake.

Hitting the stage to perform later was 17-year-old Carolina Rial, singing “Stay With Me” by Sam Smith to honor her late father. Kelly and Nick tried to convince Carolina that they would be the best coach for her, but she went to Team John. The next singer was also young. Ethan Lively opted to sing “You Look So Good in Love”. Blake loved it so he turned while the other coaches didn’t. Ethan automatically went to Team Blake.
Up next was YellSmiles, but unfortunately no one turned for her. The next contestant was Zae Romeo who sang “Falling”. He shared that he once ran away from home because he didn’t feel loved. He was gone for about 10 days before he saw posters about him up all over town as his adoptive parents had been looking for him. That made him go back home and realize that he was loved.
His emotional performance earned him a rare four-chair turn. He eventually chose to be on Team Nick.

Emma Corrin and Josh O'Connor Grateful Prince Harry Is Comfortable Watching 'The Crown'

    Netflix/WENN

The Princess Diana depicter is ‘incredibly moved’ and her co-star, who depicts Prince Charles, is ‘delighted’ that the Duke of Sussex is ‘way more comfortable’ watching their show than reading tabloids.

    Mar 3, 2021
AceShowbiz – Emma Corrin was “incredibly moved” to learn that Britain’s Prince Harry watches “The Crown”.
The actress stars as Harry’s late mother Princess Diana in the Netflix show and won a Golden Globe for her portrayal on Sunday night (28Feb21). And following the Duke of Sussex’s admission that he’s “way more comfortable” watching “The Crown” than reading fake news about his family in tabloids, Emma told Entertainment Tonight that she was touched to learn of her famous viewer.
“It’s difficult, with The Crown, since it is so fictional, it feels so removed from the actual royal family,” she mused. “But on the other hand, the characters are based on real people, so there is something there. I felt incredibly grateful to him. I was incredibly moved by what he said.”

      See also…

“Obviously, I played his mother and that would have been such a sensitive thing. I was very moved he acknowledged it. I’m glad he enjoyed it; I was very grateful for those words.”
Meanwhile, Josh O’Connor – who plays Harry’s father Prince Charles in the show – added, “I’m delighted. I’m delighted that he watches it. I think anyone who watches it is a great… you know, that’s what we’re there for.”
The Duke was quizzed about his thoughts on the Netflix show during an interview with James Corden. “They don’t pretend to be news,” the royal replied when asked what he made of the programme. “It’s fictional, but it’s loosely based on the truth. Of course, it’s not strictly accurate. It gives you a rough idea of what that lifestyle, what the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, what can come from that.”

Emmanuel Acho to Take Over Chris Harrison's Hosting Duty in 'The Bachelor: After the Final Rose'

    Instagram

‘It’s both an honor and privilege to be hosting ‘After the Final Rose’,’ the best-selling author and the ‘Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man’ host says of the gig.

    Mar 2, 2021
AceShowbiz – After Chris Harrison announced that he’d take a hiatus from “The Bachelor” following widespread criticism over his remarks about Rachael Kirkconnell’s past racist behavior, ABC has to find a new host to replace him in “The Bachelor: After the Final Rose”. It has now revealed that Emmanuel Acho will fill in the void left by Chris’ temporary leave.
The best-selling author will sit down with “The Bachelor” lead Matt James and the three finalists in his season, Bri, Michelle and Rachael. The “Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man” host is set to discuss the results of the finale and the current events surrounding the franchise.
“It’s both an honor and privilege to be hosting ‘After the Final Rose’,” said Emmanuel in a statement. “This is an incredibly pivotal episode on one of the most storied shows in television history.”

      See also…

Chris decided to step aside from the franchise after being under fire for defending Rachael over her racism scandal. “I have spent the last few days listening to the pain my words have caused, and I am deeply remorseful. My ignorance did damage to my friends, colleagues and strangers alike. I have no one to blame but myself for what I said and the way I spoke,” Chris said last month.
“To the Black community, to the BIPOC community: I am so sorry. My words were harmful. I am listening, and I truly apologize for my ignorance and any pain it caused you,” the TV host further pleaded. “I want to give my heartfelt thanks to the people from these communities who I’ve had enlightening conversations with over the past few days, and I am so grateful to those who have reached out to help me on my path to anti-racism.”
“The historic season of The Bachelor should not be marred or overshadowed by my mistakes or diminished by my actions,” he continued. “To that end, I have consulted with Warner Bros. and ABC and will be stepping aside for a period of time and will not join for the After the Final Rose special.”
