      John Mayer Reportedly Getting His Own Late-Night Talk Show

      Rumor has it, the ‘Your Body Is a Wonderland’ hitmaker is shopping around a new late-night talk show called ‘Late With John Mayer’ that features himself as a host.

      John Mayer is reportedly closing in on a deal for his own late-night talk show.

      According to Variety, the musician is in talks to front his own entertainment programme on Paramount+.

      “Later With John Mayer” is being sold as “a series featuring performance segments as well as interviews with musicians, artists and other cultural figures in a setting designed to look like an after-hours club for musicians.”

      Meanwhile, Mayer recently revealed that his new album is finished.

      The “Half of My Heart” singer told fans on TikTok last month that he has been “chilling” and getting his friends’ opinions on his follow-up to 2017’s “The Search for Everything”.

      He captioned a clip on the video-sharing platform, “My album is recorded, mixed and mastered. I’ve just been chilling and sharing it with friends for the past couple of months.”

      While he also teased, “I think I’m gonna drop a clip of the single.”

      Since his 2017 album, John has released the singles “New Light”, “I Guess I Just Feel Like”, and “Carry Me Away” while he teamed up with Khalid on “Outta My Head” in 2019 and released “Inside Friend” with Leon Bridges last year.

      The latter was released to help raise money for the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund, which supports music creators and professionals whose livelihoods are being affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

      Last month, he performed at Grammy Awards. He teamed up with country music star Maren Morrin on her hit single “The Bones”

      In an open letter, a group of former contestants demand an apology from the show’s producers for not censoring a controversial hand gesture in an episode of the long-running game show.

      “Jeopardy!” received an open letter from a group of 467 former contestants on Wednesday, April 28. The letter featured them demanding an apology from the show’s producers for not censoring a controversial hand gesture in an episode of the long-running game show.

      “A recent contestant has caused concern among ‘Jeopardy!’ viewers for two separate occurrences,” the letter read. “We, as former contestants, feel the need to speak out against the messaging that these choices communicated — either intentionally or unintentionally — by the contestant Kelly Donohue and, implicitly by association, the producers of ‘Jeopardy!’ ”

      The letter referred to Kelly who was captured on camera holding “his thumb and forefinger together with his other three fingers extended and palm facing inward, and he tapped his chest.” The letter noted that that the gesture was extremely similar to the gesture “coopted by white power groups, alt-right groups, and an anti-government group that calls itself the Three Percenters,” adding that such gesture must be censored.

      “A couple of years ago, a contestant unintentionally wagered a monetary amount that used numerical values coopted by white supremacist groups and, since the total didn’t affect the outcome of the game, ‘Jeopardy!’ digitally altered the numbers in the version that aired,” the letter continued to read. “This should have been done in this case. Intentional or not, the burden was on the production team to catch the similarity to a hate symbol and make sure it didn’t end up on air.”

      Kelly, meanwhile, defended himself, saying that the gesture was simply indicating that he had won three games. He also claimed that he had gestured with one finger and two fingers to indicate his previous wins.

      In addition to the controversial hand gesture, the letter detailed another misstep that Kelly exhibited. “Kelly responded to a clue with a term for the Roma that is considered a slur,” the letter continued.

      “We know that contestants sign morals and ethics-related agreements when they prepare to appear on the show, and we would ask the production team to evaluate this situation within that framework. Finally, we hope to see changes made so that future mistakes of this magnitude never make it on air,” it concluded.

      “Jeopardy!” has yet to comment on the matter.

      Fans of Marvel Cinematic Universe may already be aware of the sentiment that Bucky is a queer icon. The character’s sexual orientation was recently brought into discussion again as some fans believed that a particular scene on “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” backed the theory of him being bisexual. Catching wind of the fan theory, director Kari Skogland shut down the speculations once and for all in a new interview.

      In the said scene, Bucky (Sebastian Stan) was seen talking about the “weird pictures” that he kept seeing on online dating sites. “I mean, tiger photos?” he said, adding, “Half the time, I don’t even know what I’m looking at. It’s a lot.” People assumed that the remark was a clue that Bucky is a bi since people who have been posting tigers in their dating profiles have been predominantly men.

      Of the speculation, Kari told Variety, “I think we just thought of it as an oddity of the times, because he’s so confused by it. Because don’t forget, he’s 106 years old. So he’s just confused by the whole thing.”

      Kari also commented on Bucky’s “tiger” moment, noting that she and Sebastian never actually discussed why Bucky would be seeing tigers on a dating site. “What we were really more trying to display was his complete lack of technical skills, as well as being part of any kind of community,” she explained. “He doesn’t fit. So that was I think more our intention there that try to point to any one particular affinity.”

      During the interview, Kari also talked about how “FAWS” fans noted that Bucky’s aggressive banter with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) also featured physical intimacy. “It’s really love, right?” the director shared. “They love each other – at the end. They don’t love each other at the beginning, but they come to a friendship place where they love each other. So I’m not really sensitive to masculinity as any kind of barrier between that love, or how it should manifest.”

      “I’m completely fluid when it comes to any of that. So there’s no defined sexuality to any of it. So it’s, really, I think, just affection,” Kari stressed.

      Katie Thurston is not wasting time. According to a new report, she wraps her “The Bachelorette” season, which she shares with fellow leading lady Michelle Young, ahead of the schedule as she takes her job handing out roses very seriously.

      Katie is said to be starting to film her journey of finding love in New Mexico in March and already wrapping on Saturday, April 24. A source spills about how season 17 goes to Us Weekly, “Katie was in control and made sure the men she wanted were there and the men she wasn’t interested in, she sent packing.” The insider also says that the filming of the upcoming season of the long-running ABC dating show “went great and it wrapped a week ahead of schedule.”

      Former “The Bachelorette” stars and new hosts Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe allegedly “can relate to Katie’s journey in a lot of different ways, which you’ll see play out.” The source continues, “It was nice to have them there to help out with whatever situation came up.       “The Bachelorette” announces Katie and Michelle as the new Bachelorettes in the “After the Final Rose” special of Matt James’ season of “The Bachelor” back in March. “We’re the Bachelorettes,” Michelle and Katie announced together. “I was a little nervous, but once I found out that it was two different seasons, I was here for it. I’m excited that I get to have somebody to bond over with this and share notes as we go,” Michelle, a 27-year-old teacher from Edina, explained on “After the Final Rose” which was hosted by Emmanuel Acho on Monday, March 15.

      She added, “I really do think that this process works. When you can set down all these outside distractions and really dive in, I think you can learn a lot about somebody. I’m just excited. I’m ready to get started.” As for Katie, the 29-year-old bank manager from Renton chimed in, “I’m ready to find love, and not just the temporary kind… I’ve seen it work before, why can’t it work for me?”

      Tayshia and Kaitlyn would only host for season 17 and it remains to be seen if Chris Harrison will return to host the franchise. Crew members, meanwhile, wanted Chris to be back. “There were a lot of very last-minute changes,” a source shared earlier this month. “It’s a different vibe. Chris was the glue that holds it together. He’s like the father figure to everybody. He’s someone everybody knows and respects and truly loves.”

      Another insider said that “Tayshia and Kaitlyn have had to learn how to cohost and it’s taken time,” noting that it was made very clear that the women weren’t “replacing” Chris. “They’re lovely to work with and they get along with the crew. It’s just completely different with them co-hosting,” the source continued.

      Joseline Hernandez stopped by the new episode of Wendy Williams’ talk show and things went south during the interview. As soon as the “Puerto Rican Princess” appeared during the virtual interview, Wendy seemed to be offending her guest by saying that Joseline looked different and unrecognizable every time she sees her. The host, however, quickly added that it was in “a good way.”

      “Hopefully it’s a good way Wendy, because i must say this to you first,” Joseline, who was there to promote her Zeus network reality show, “Joseline’s Cabaret”, responded. She then demanded respect from Wendy, saying, “I hope you’re going to give me my flowers today. I hope you’re going to honor how much work I’ve put out there…I’m an accomplished woman and I just feel like every time I come to your show, you don’t give me those flowers now.”

      “You’re 35 years my senior. I should get those flowers now,” she went on saying, while Wendy looked confused by the sudden rant. “I should feel wanted by people like you. Not just me, all the other young girls,” Joseline continued, to which Wendy quickly interjected, “You wanted to feel wanted by me? I always say you’re very entertaining.”

      However, Joseline insisted, “But we feel like you’ll be trying us. We feel like you don’t be really rooting for us. You know, we feel like, especially with me, every time I come on your show you’ll always want to compare me to another broad. I don’t need to be compared. I’ve made my own brand. I’ve made my own brand for years.”

      When Joseline claimed that she has “the number one show in the country,” Wendy quipped, “No, you have the number one show on Zeus and you got renewed for a third season which is to be commended.” Still, Joseline corrected, “The number one show in the country, Ms. Wendy!”

      Firing back at Joseline, Wendy said, “You feel undervalued? Well so do I, okay? Because you’re a part of pop culture, this is what I do. But if you possibly think that I leave here every day and don’t feel undervalued for something that I do, you know, as a woman, we’re not gonna even talk about race. Just as a woman, I still don’t make that dollar for dollar men make.”

      The answer wasn’t what Joseline expected though as she responded, “This is not about men. Woman to woman, we should uphold each other higher, not go against each other or compare women to other women. … I came from the streets, I came from the gutter, give me that respect, Ms. Wendy. We love you, but at the same time, you have to do better. You’re not in abusive relationship anymore. You don’t deal with that man anymore. You should be in a better place and when people come on your show, especially black culture, you should be nicer to us, the ladies, you should respect us, you should give us our flowers while we’re here and you should tell how proud you are of what we’ve done in the streets.”

      “Well, I’m not proud of all,” Wendy argued. “And what I’ve been through makes me even harder to young women, like you coud do better. … I don’t apologize for anything, this is what I do.” That only further enraged Joseline who later accused Wendy of treating “young black Spanish girls” differently. Refusing to cooperate, Joseline added, “I’m not going to let you play me anymore, Ms. Wendy.”

      Eventually, the interview went on with Wendy asking Joseline about her fiance Ballistic Beats, her kid, her relationship with ex Stevie J and his wife Faith Evans.

      Steve McQueen’s “Small Axe” series leads the shortlist at the 2021 BAFTA TV Awards with 15 nominations.

      The landmark five-film BBC One series tells stories about the lives of the West Indian community in London from the 1960s to the 1980s, and sees recognition for John Boyega and Letitia Wright in the Leading Actor/Actress categories.

      The drama will compete for Mini-Series alongside “Normal People”, “I May Destroy You”, and “Adult Material”, while other nominations included Michael Ward and Malachi Kirby for Supporting Actor.

      The series is also up for nine craft awards, which celebrate behind-the-scenes work, including McQueen for Director: Fiction

      Meanwhile, “The Crown” will compete for Drama Series, with competition including “Gangs of London” and “I Hate Suzie”. Josh O’Connor is up for Leading Actor while Tobias Menzies and Helena Bonham Carter are nominated in supporting roles.

      Surprisingly, Olivia Colman was not nominated and neither was Golden Globe winner Gillian Anderson.

      Other big nominations come for Michaela Coel’s “I May Destroy You”, lockdown hit “Normal People”, and “Sex Education”, with eight, seven and six nominations, respectively. And Paul Ritter gets a posthumous nod in the Male Performance in a Comedy category for his work in “Friday Night Dinner”. Elsewhere, ITV’s “The Masked Singer” will do battle to be named best Entertainment Program.

      The BAFTA TV Craft Awards will be held on 24 May (21) with Gbemisola Ikumelo presenting. The main ceremony takes place on 6 June with Richard Ayoade returning to host.

      Actress Jenna Coleman is heading underground to star in new World War II drama series “The War Rooms”.

      The show will focus on the life of Joan Bright, portrayed by the “Victoria” star, and her work in British Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s secret Whitehall bunker in London.

      She began the war as a secretary, and ended up organising the great Allied conferences, all while enjoying a romance with her friend and James Bond author Ian Fleming, who is said to have partly based the character of Miss Moneypenny on Bright.

      “The War Rooms”, inspired by Bright’s 1971 memoir, “The Inner Circle: A View of War at the Top”, was created by David Chidlow and is being produced by “The Father” ‘s David Parfitt, with Coleman also serving as an executive producer.

      In a statement, she says, “Joan Bright was never going to live a conventional life – a young woman who lived her war days under the official secrets act, undercover and underground in the war rooms.”

      Some first-look pictures of HBO “House of the Dragon” have found their way out online. In the pictures that were obtained by Daily Mail, stars Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy were seen transforming into Prince Daemon Targaryen and Rhaenyra Targaryen respectively after filming a scene by the beach.

      For the scene which was taken on the Holywell Bay Beach in Cornwall on Tuesday, April 27, Matt donned a black jacket and a pair of knee-high boots while sporting a long blonde wig. Joining him was Emma’s Rhaenyra. She looked a lot like Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen in a long crimson gown featuring split at the front and long platinum blonde wig. She had her hair styled into an impressive braid and fixed atop her head.

      The pair were seen casually talking on the empty beach. At one point, they headed towards the water following the discussing.

      The pictures arrived after it was speculated that the southern county would be the primary set for the prequel series of “Game of Thrones” as crews were spotted in different locations last week. It was also said that the production takes place in a medieval castle on St Michael’s Mount on Mount’s Bay in Cornwall that is said to be bearing a striking resemblance to the Croatia castle where Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) lives on the original HBO series.

      Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy play Prince Daemon and Rhaenyra Targaryen respectively.

      The new pictures arrive after HBO confirmed production on the “Game of Thrones” prequel on Monday, April 26 as it unveiled a few photos from the table reading. One of the pictures saw its stars practicing social distancing during the session. “Fire will reign. The @HBO original series #HouseoftheDragon is officially in production. Coming soon to @HBOMax in 2022,” the official account of the series wrote in the caption.

      Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood”, “House of Dragon” is set 300 years before the events of “Game of Thrones” and will follow the House Targaryen. Paddy Considine leads the series as he plays King Viserys Targaryen. Olivia Cooke is cast as Alicent Hightower while Rhys Ifans plays Otto Hightower. Steve Toussaint joins the cast as The Sea Snake and Fabien Frankel portrays Ser Criston Cole, who is a member of King Viserys I Targaryen’s Kingsguard.
