    Nov 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Queen’s Gambit” has shattered records at Netflix by becoming the streaming service’s most-watched scripted limited series to date.
More than 62 million member accounts logged in to watch Anya Taylor-Joy play an orphaned chess genius battling addiction within the first 28 days of the drama’s release.

The show, based on Walter Tevis’ 1983 novel, made the top 10 in 92 countries and ranked number one in 63, including the U.K., Argentina, Israel and South Africa.
Celebrating the show’s record-breaking run on Monday (November 23), Netflix VP of original series Peter Friedlander released a statement, which read, “Three years ago when Scott Frank first approached us about adapting ‘The Queen’s Gambit’… we felt it was a compelling tale. However, I don’t think any of us could have predicted that ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ – and the extraordinary Anya Taylor-Joy – would become the global phenomena they are today, or our biggest limited scripted series ever.”
Series creator Scott Frank also commented on the viewers’ response to his show, “I am both delighted and dazed by the response.” He added in a statement, “It’s just all way beyond what any of us could have imagined. But speaking for my fellow producers and the entire cast and crew of the show, every one of whom made me look better than I actually am, we are most grateful that so many took the time to watch our show.”
The highest-ranking Netflix releases include “The Witcher”, which scored 76 million within the first 28 days after it was released last year, and documentary-series “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness”, which generated 64 million views over the same time period earlier this year.

Report: Tanya Sam Bails on 'RHOA' Filming Following Stripper Threesome Scandal

    Instagram

While Tanya has yet to officially quit the show, the friend of the reality show is so upset over the situation that she’s ‘not even considering’ to attend the reunion show for season 13.

    Nov 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – It seems like the stripper threesome rumors are too much for Tanya Sam to handle. A new report suggests that Tanya Sam, a new friend in upcoming season 13 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”, has stopped filming mid-season after it was said that she and Porsha Williams hooked up with a stripper at Cynthia Bailey’s bachelor party.
According to TMZ, Tanya has “officially bailed on filming the rest of the current season.” It is said that the reason of the decision has something to do with the bachelorette party, in which she and Porsha allegedly had sex with the stripper. Tanya didn’t like how the scandal was put as the focus in the new season, which is set to premiere on December 6.
However, that isn’t the only reason why she stopped filming halfway through. The site claims that Tanya and her rocky relationship with her fiance plays a big role as well. His fiance’s alleged infidelity took center stage in previous season 12, and with how things progress with the stripper incident, it seems like Tanya thinks she’s done with the Bravo reality show.

Despite that, the insider insists that Tanya has yet to officially quit “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”. However, the site reveals that Tanya is so upset over the situation that she’s “not even considering” to attend the reunion show once they finish filming for the season.
Recently, Cynthia claimed in an interview that she wasn’t aware of what happened that night. “I cannot confirm or deny anything that happened after Ms. Bailey-Hill went to bed,” she said to E! Daily Pop. “Apparently, some things went down.” When asked if she was bothered if the rumors were really true, Cynthia claimed, “No! These are grown women. They can do whatever they wanna do, with whoever they wanna do [it with]. It’s not my business. If they like it, I love it.”
Michael Bolwaire, the male stripper at the party, however, denied the rumors. “The rumors and allegations that’s going around right now, straight bulls**t. Although I’m flattered to be in the same conversation as those beautiful women, nothing happened. I don’t need any unnecessary mileage on my d**k. Again, nothing happened. Y’all be cool,” he previously insisted.

'Supernatural' Creator Reveals He Would Have Planned 'Much Darker' Ending Fans Would Hate

    WENN/FayesVision

When speaking about the end of the horror series, Eric Kripke admits to having had a long talk with star Jensen Ackles and co-showrunners Andrew Dabb and Bob Singer about its conclusion.

    Nov 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke insists his originally-planned ending for the show wouldn’t have gone down well with fans.
The U.S. TV programme came to an end after 15 seasons on Thursday night (November 19), with Jensen Ackles’ character Dean dying as he got impaled on a piece of steel while fighting a group of vampires.
Kripke developed the series for just three seasons and then expanded it to five, following the success of the show. He departed as showrunner after season five and the series continued for 10 more seasons.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he revealed he had a long talk with series star Jensen Ackles and co-showrunners Andrew Dabb and Bob Singer about the ending, sharing they “pitched it to me and I went off to think about it for a couple days.”

      See also…

“It was interesting… admittedly, me being me, I spent some time thinking, ‘Okay, is there any other ending I would pitch back that I think is better?’ ” recalled Kripke.
“I spent a couple days trying to chase down a couple avenues and couldn’t come up with anything better. So I went back and I was like, ‘Guys I think it’s the right one.’ There’s some substance to it but there’s something emotional, I think there’s a positive energy around it.”
Asked how he would have ended things had he still been in charge, Kripke admitted his own conclusion would have been “so much darker than the ending they’re going with,” – and he thinks fans would have been disappointed.
“Anyone who’s like, ‘Kripke should’ve ended it,’ I’m like, ‘You would’ve hated my ending!’ ” he laughed. “Because it was a horror movie and it was going to have a horror movie ending, so I can promise you the ending (they went with) you’ll love much more than if you had let me end the show.”

Jeremy Kyle Declared 'Interested Party' Following His Show Guest's Suspected Suicide

    ITV

A coroner has ruled the former ‘Jeremy Kyle Show’ host’s actions may have ’caused or contributed’ to his guest Steve Dymond’s tragic passing during inquest into his death.

    Nov 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – British broadcaster Jeremy Kyle has been declared an “interested party” at an inquest into the suspected suicide of a guest on his show.
Construction worker Steve Dymond said the presenter got “in his face,” jeered him, and called him a failure after he failed a lie detector test on the since-axed “The Jeremy Kyle Show”, and a coroner has ruled the presenter’s actions may have “caused or contributed” to his death.
Following the appearance, Dymond collapsed in tears afterwards, slumped to his hands and knees fearing he was going to pass out, tried to flee the studio to escape the audiences’ boos, and said he wished he was dead.
In a 15-minute phone call to his brother on the way home, Dymond said he wanted to leap out of the taxi or take a morphine overdose and, seven days later, the 63-year-old was found dead from a morphine overdose in his rented home in Portsmouth, England.
At a pre-inquest hearing in Winchester, Hants, coroner Jason Pegg declared Kyle an “interested party” because evidence suggested his actions “may have caused or contributed to the death.”

The inquest has heard previously Dymond went on the show despite a doctor ruling he had a “concrete plan” to kill himself and Caoilfhionn Gallagher QC, who is representing the late man’s family, has claimed the show failed to adequately safeguard him.
“Mr Dymond was extremely distressed by his experience at The Jeremy Kyle Show, a programme which has been described by a judge when sentencing a former contestant as ‘human bear-baiting,’ ” she insisted, reported Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper
“Following his death the show was axed and widespread concerns were raised regarding the format of the show, its selection and treatment of participants, and aftercare.”
The family now wants the coroner to conduct a jury inquest to examine in detail Steve’s care in the seven-week period leading up to his death.
“The Jeremy Kyle Show” first aired on U.K. network ITV in July 2005 and has long been controversial as well as popular, as guests were invited to thrash out conflicts and relationship problems in front of a studio audience. Critics have claimed producers exploit the vulnerable and their personal problems for entertainment.

Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent Reunite for New TV Comedy 'Family Affair'

    Instagram

The ‘Be Without You’ singer and the ‘In Da Club’ rapper are teaming up again to produce a new television project which is named after her 2001 hit single.

    Nov 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Mary J. Blige is reteaming with 50 Cent to develop a new TV comedy.
The hip-hop superstars will produce “Family Affair”, which will follow an R&B musician who is suddenly forced to take on a new parental role to raise his sister’s four children.
The project, which shares the same title as Blige’s hit 2001 song, will be written by Devon and Ranada Shepard, who will also serve as executive producers.
It has been given a pilot order by bosses at U.S. network ABC.

Blige and 50 are already close colleagues as the singer stars on the “Power” spin-off, “Power Book II: Ghost”, which the “In Da Club” rapper executive produces.
The crime drama series was picked up for a second season in September (20) following a record-breaking premiere on U.S. cable network Starz.
In addition to “Ghost”, Starz ordered three more spin-offs, “Power Book III: Raising Kanan”, “Power Book IV: Influence”, and “Power Book V: Force” as the original show concluded in 2019 after six seasons. Unfortunately, production on “Ghost” and “Raising Kanan” was put on hold earlier this year due to Covid-19 pandemic.
“Ghost” continues where the original series leaves off while “Raising Kanan” is set as a prequel series to follow Kanan Stark during the ’90s, “Influence” is expected to revolve around the character of Rashad Tate, and “Force” is going to chronicle the story of Tommy Egan leaving New York for good.

'Stranger Things' Adds 'Nightmare on Elm Street' Star Robert Englund for Season 4

    Instagram

The actor well known for playing the onscreen serial killer Freddy Krueger has been tapped to join the cast ensemble of the Netflix hit series for the upcoming installment.

    Nov 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Stranger Things” producers are stepping up the horror factor on the hit show by casting “A Nightmare on Elm Street” star Robert Englund in the upcoming fourth season.
The horror icon, famed for bringing Freddy Krueger to life onscreen, will play Victor Creel, a psychiatric patient imprisoned for a gruesome murder in the 1950s.
He joins “Harry Potter” actor Jamie Campbell Bower, “Booksmart” ‘s Eduardo Franco, and Joseph Quinn from “Catherine the Great” as newcomers for season four, which is currently in production following a delay due to the coronavirus shutdown.
Others added to the cast are “Game of Thrones” actor Tom Wlaschiha, “Bosch” ‘s Mason Dye, Sherman Augustus from “Into the Badlands”, and Nikola Djuricko from “Genius”.

“Stranger Things”, created and executive produced by The Duffer Brothers, stars David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, and Finn Wolfhard. A premiere date for the new season has yet to be announced.
“Stranger Things” is not the only project scrambling to adjust their production amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Others include movies “The Batman” as well as TV shows like “Riverdale”, “Batwoman”, “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”, “Supergirl”, and “Chicago Med”.
Film and TV industries have been struggling to adapt to post-coronavirus world since lockdown was first imposed earlier this year. Many projects were either pushed back or called off as the industry was brought to a standstill due to the worldwide pandemic.
Broadway is dealing with the same issues. There were 24 shows open and running on Broadway before the shutdown. Five more were in previews and three – “Frozen”, “Hangmen”, and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” – have already announced they will not return.

Emma Corrin Suffered From Whooping Cough During 'The Crown' Filming in Spain

    Netflix

The actress who plays Princess Diana in the new season 4 of the Netflix royal drama series secretly battled whooping cough while filming the show overseas.

    Nov 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Crown” star Emma Corrin secretly battled whooping cough while filming the royal drama series.
The actress tells Interview magazine she was only able to recover from her bout of illness after a trip abroad to film her final scene was cancelled earlier this year (20).
Whooping cough is a bacterial infection of the lungs and breathing tubes, with symptoms including bouts of coughing and gasping for breath. While it can be most dangerous in babies and children, adults can still suffer nosebleeds and sore ribs and may be treated with antibiotics.
The revelation comes after Emma, who also suffers from asthma, shared that she was rushed to hospital while filming the Netflix show in Spain due to “low oxygen levels” after recording a swimming pool scene.

“I’m asthmatic and had been ill for a while with a cough,” she previously told Glamour U.K. “I had to film a scene in a freezing cold swimming pool. It was the hardest scene to film because I was genuinely keeping myself alive treading water.
“We were meant to be flying back that night to the U.K. and went past a hospital to get antibiotics. The doctors gave me an oxygen test and said, ‘We can’t let you go because your oxygen levels are so low’, so I was hospitalised.”
Season four of “The Crown”, which also stars Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher and Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, is streaming now.
Emma Corrin was added to the cast ensemble to play Princess Diana in the new season.
