'Wipeout' Contestant Dies After Completing Game Show

A male contestant of the revamped game show was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead after he tackled the extreme activities and crossed the finish line.

    Nov 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – A male contestant on the rebooted U.S. game show “Wipeout” has died after tackling the TV obstacle course.
The unidentified participant, who had to pass a medical examination before appearing on air, managed to complete the extreme activities on Wednesday (18Nov20), but needed emergency medical attention after crossing the finish line.
According to TMZ, he was treated for chest pains by on-set paramedics, and transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for TV network TBS, on which the revamped reality show is set to air next year (21), told the New York Post, “We are devastated to have learned of his passing, and our deepest sympathy goes out to the family.”
And producers at Endemol Shine North America added to TMZ, “We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and our thoughts are with them at this time.”

The new series, co-hosted by wrestler-turned-actor John Cena, comedian Nicole Byer, and model Camille Kostek, is a reboot of the original Wipeout, which previously aired from 2008 to 2014.
It’s not the first time a “Wipeout” contestant experienced health issues and later died after competing on the show.
Back in 2009, a contestant complained of knee pain when participating in the first segment of an obstacle course. Producers had him stop and took him to a local hospital before being moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and undergoing several brain surgeries.
The contestant eventually died of a stroke, apparently caused by a rare condition known as antiphospholipid antibody syndrome or APS, two weeks after taking part on the show.
While the “Wipeout” contestant underwent medical examinations before he was cleared for the show, the diagnosis of APS required specialized blood tests.

Jensen Ackles Has Same Reaction as Fans After Reading Shocking 'Supernatural' Ending

    The CW

The ‘Days of Our Lives’ actor understands why people were outraged by the shocking ending of his ‘Supernatural’ character as he also struggled with it.

    Nov 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jensen Ackles “struggled” with the ending of his hit show “Supernatural” when he first read it, so understands where disgruntled viewers are coming from.
The U.S. TV programme came to an end after 15 seasons on Thursday night (19Nov20), [SPOILER ALERT!] with Jensen’s character Dean dying as he got impaled on a piece of steel while fighting a group of vampires.
During a chat with Entertainment Weekly, Jensen revealed he and co-star Jared Padalecki, who stars as Dean’s brother Sam in the show, learned of their characters’ fate when they visited the writers room ahead of starting production on season 15.
“Yeah, so, during the hiatus between season 14 and 15, Jared and I went out to LA and sat down in the writers room, which I think is the first time we’ve ever done that,” he said. “It wasn’t like a brainstorming session. It was like, this is what we have, take it or leave it. And I just walked out of there kind of uneasy. I don’t know if it was just the fact that I just heard the ending of a show that had been going for 15 years and I’m just too close to it to really accept a finality to it.”
“It certainly wasn’t settling in as easy as I kind of hoped. I struggled with it.”

      See also…

But a conversation with series creator Eric Kripke helped Jensen come to terms with the ending.
“He just kind of put things in a perspective that really helped me kind of identify why I was having trouble with it,” he mused. “But also why it was a really great idea for an ending. And so from then on, I was kind of all in.”
The ending caused huge shockwaves from viewers on social media, many of whom expressed their outrage after a character who had survived so much in the 15 seasons was killed in the final episode.
“The writers are going to HELL for this! #Supernatural,” one person wrote, while another added, “jensen was so right for hating this episode we should’ve listened #supernatural.”
A third commented, “idk wtf is going on in supernatural rn but it rlly shouldve ended at season 5 (sic).”

'Supernatural': Fans Are in Outrage Following 'Ridiculous' Finale

    The CW

The end of the long-running The CW series is met with divided response from fans as while some are weeping over a sudden death, some other are slamming the plot.

    Nov 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Supernatural” has came to an end with a finale which aired on Thursday, November 19. However, the end of the mystery saga was met with divided response from fans. Some were weeping over the end of the series, while some other were in outrage.
In the finale, [SPOILER] Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) were seen sitting around as they bored because they had no evil to fight. However, that didn’t last long because they later hunted down the nest of group of vampires who were kidnapping children.
They killed them one by one until Dean got impaled on a piece of rebar sticking out of a wall as Sam killed the last vampire. He delivered an emotional message for his brother the importance of carrying on and living his life before he died.

Fans took the unexpected death differently. Crying over it, someone tweeted, “I’m not crying your crying,” while someone else added, “what the HECK. not me sobbing over this. STOPPPPPP #Supernatural.” Another person wrote, “ive never cried on supernatural so much in my life #supernatural.”
However, some fans were not impressed by the plot and blasted the writers online. “the writers are going to HELL for this !” one said. “THIS IS SO STUPID,” another fan slammed the finale. Calling it “ridiculous,” one user wrote, “you’re telling me a wall took out dean winchester. this is ridiculous i’m so pissed off. jensen was so right for hating this episode we should’ve listened. i have to laugh this is just embarrassing.”
“When we said we wanted a Dean monologue. After Cas,Jack and Sam had all had one. THIS WASNT WHAT WE MEANT,” another enraged fan said. “this better be a joke, it’s only been 10 minutes :/” one other added.
As fans hoped that Sam would somehow save his brother or bring him back to life, that didn’t happen. Dean made his way to Heaven and reunited with Bobby Singer (Jim Beaver) and “Baby,” his 1967 Chevy Impala.

'RHSLC': Meredith Marks Separates From Husband of More Than 2 Decades

    Instagram

The ‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ star opens up about her and Seth’s split in a new episode of the Bravo reality show, saying they ‘got completely disconnected.’

    Nov 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Meredith Marks is now a single woman, apparently. In the Wednesday, November 17 episode of the Bravo show, Meredith shared that she and husband Seth had split after over 25 years of marriage.
“Seth and I have been together for a really long time,” she opened up. “We met when we were 23, got married at 24 and had a baby at 25. It was just a tornado that came through and that was it. I was young but head-over-heels in love, so I went for it.”
Meredith and Seth were then seen discussing their relationship over dinner. “Who have you told that we are separated?” Seth asked the Bravo personality. “Do all your friends know we are separated?”

Meredith then shockingly revealed that she hadn’t told any of her friends about their split. “It’s not like I’m running around talking about this to everyone. I prefer they don’t discuss it,” she explained.
As to why she decided to end their marriage of more than 2 decades, Meredith divulged, “Over the years, it just broke down. We moved many times. We kind of were uprooted –I was trying to start my company, he was running his business, we had the three kids. There was just no communication and hostility built, and built and built, and we just got so totally overwhelmed that we just were completely disconnected.”
Things went south during the dinner with Seth accusing Meredith of “hiding” parts of her life because she refused to let him look at her phone. “I would like for you to read my phone, only because it makes me think that you care,” he claimed, to which Meredith responded, “I do care.” They didn’t discuss that for a long time because she changed the topic afterwards.
“This is hard stuff,” admitted Seth of their split. “I’d like to have a life partner and a soulmate to share everything with. I hate being separated.”

Melissa McCarthy Feels Lucky 'Nine Perfect Strangers' Made Her Family Move to Australia

    WENN/Adriana M. Barraza

Admitting that she came close from pulling out of the drama series, the ‘Bridesmaids’ actress reveals it was her eldest daughter’s reasoning that convinced her to make the big move amid the pandemic.

    Nov 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Actress Melissa McCarthy almost pulled out of starring in upcoming TV drama series “Nine Perfect Strangers” after discovering producers wanted to move the shoot from Los Angeles to Australia.
The “Bridesmaids” star didn’t want to uproot her two daughters from their family base in California in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, until her eldest, 13-year-old Vivian, pointed out that officials Down Under had been much more successful than U.S. leaders in their efforts to contain the spread of the virus.
“We were gonna shoot in L.A., and then someone said, ‘Maybe because of COVID, do you want to go to Australia?’ ” McCarthy recalled on U.S. breakfast show “Today”. “I was like, ‘That’s crazy! I can’t move my family! You guys are nuts!'”
The funnywoman shared her disbelief at the proposal with Vivian, who was forced to do all her schooling online, and it was the teen who suggested making the big move for the duration of the production.
“I’m like, ‘Some maniac said, ‘Do you wanna go to Australia?’ ‘ and she was like, ‘Isn’t that one of the safest places in the world (right now)? Shouldn’t we go, today?’ ” McCarthy shared.

Vivian’s reasoning was enough to convince McCarthy and her husband, actor/filmmaker Ben Falcone, to head to Australia, where, until recently, there hadn’t been an outbreak of positive cases for months due to strict lockdown rules.

      See also…

“Literally because she was so open to it, we’re here in a COVID-free place, which we totally understand how incredibly lucky we are (sic),” explained the actress, who also shares 10-year-old Georgette with Falcone.
“We’re here, (the kids) are back in school – real school – and everyone does all the protocols and we all live within the protocols, but there’s no COVID (sic), because they were like, bada** about it… It’s great.”
“I feel like we got hit with the lucky stick…,” she added.
McCarthy’s comments emerged as authorities in South Australia introduced new restrictions at midnight on Wednesday (November 18), forcing all schools, bars, and eateries to close, with outdoor exercise in public spaces banned and face masks now mandatory.
More than 27,000 people in Australia have battled the coronavirus, with just over 900 deaths, compared to the U.S., where the death toll surpassed 250,000 this week, with more than 11.4 million cases recorded to date.
“Nine Perfect Strangers”, based on the book of the same name by “Big Little Lies” author Liane Moriarty, also stars Nicole Kidman and Luke Evans, and focuses on the clients of a high-end health and wellness retreat.
It is expected to debut on streaming service Hulu in 2021.
