Patricia Dempsey Describes 'Grey's Anatomy' Return as 'Healing Process'

    ABC

The actor returns to the ABC medical drama series as Derek Shepherd, reuniting with Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith Grey in the seventeenth season five years after his exit.

    Nov 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Patrick Dempsey has opened up on reuniting with Ellen Pompeo for his recent surprise “Grey’s Anatomy” cameo.
On Thursday (12Nov20) night’s season 17 premiere Pompeo’s Meredith Grey collapsed in the hospital parking lot and a dream sequence took place, which saw her reunited with Dempsey’s Derek Shepherd – who died on the show back in April, 2015.
Explaining how his return came about, the star tells Deadline, “I came across a photo that I was going to post that had Ellen and I, and I think that produced a call where I reached out to Ellen, and this was right around, the conversation was starting for season 17.”
“We hadn’t spoken or been together for a while. It was a great opportunity to catch up and say, okay, what can we do for all the frontline responders (amid the pandemic)?” he explains.

During the Covid-19 crisis, bosses from the show have been sharing medical equipment from the set with those in need and, according to Dempsey, he was keen to “make people feel better, to give some comfort in this time of uncertainty.”
“I think the whole atmosphere has changed, certainly working at the beach, and seeing everybody again was really a very healing process, and really rewarding, and a lot of fun,” he confessed. “And hopefully, that feeling translates, and the fans enjoy it. I know that they’ve been wanting us to get back together, and I think this will satisfy a lot of people, and surprise a lot of people, hopefully.”
Dempsey went on to add that it was “really enjoyable” to get back into character as Derek, and “great to see everybody.”
“The dynamic behind the camera had changed. There’s much more diversity within the crew,” he noted. “There was a nice balance, too, of equality that I was seeing. So, culturally, there was a lot of things that were different, that I thought were very positive and very inspiring, actually.”

John Mellencamp Is 'Terribly Excited' to Know Daughter Teddi Exited 'RHOBH'

    WENN/TNYF/FayesVision

Teddi confirmed that she let go her diamond just a day after a report of her being fired from Bravo’s ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ because she was boring emerged in September.

    Nov 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – John Mellencamp made public his true feelings over learning that daughter Teddi Mellencamp decided to depart from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. During his appearance on Teddi’s “Teddi Tea Pod”, the Grammy-winning musician shared that he was beyond “excited” over the news.
“I’ve never liked that you were on the ‘Real Housewives’,” the 69-year-old told his daughter in the Wednesday, November 12 episode of the podcast. “I tried to be supportive so I watched, but I can assure you I don’t watch it anymore.”
However, John didn’t entirely hate the show. “I think that it’s great and I think that some of the women on the show are fantastic,” he admitted. He just couldn’t imagine the public scrutiny that Teddi had to deal with during her time on the Bravo show for three seasons. “I don’t want to be a part of where everybody knows everything about everybody… I don’t know how you stood it,” the “Jack and Diane” singer said.

Teddi confirmed that she let go her diamond just a day after a report of her being fired from the show because she was boring emerged in September. She announced her exit in a September 22 post on her Instagram account featuring a video in which she said, “I recently found out that my contract as a Housewife is not being renewed. Of course I could give you the standard response of, ‘Oh we both came to the decision that it would be best.’ Nah, I’m not going to do that – that’s not who I am. Of course when I got the news I was sad.”
Comparing the firing to “a breakup,” the All In By Teddi founder added, ” [It’s] because you develop such strong relationships with the cast, with the crew. And you get to do incredible things that you probably never get to experience without the show.”
“That being said, I’m really looking forward to the future and being able to focus on my family, my friends, all in. I really feel like I have some exciting things ahead. And you know what? I’m pretty busy with this lil’ nuggs,” she continued, referring to her 6-month-old daughter. Concluding the message, Teddi said, “So, thanks for coming along on this journey with me and I’ll see you soon.”

Josh O'Connor Felt Awful for Terrifying Emma Corrin in Angry Charles and Diana Scenes

    Netflix

The actor who plays Prince Charles in the upcoming new season of ‘The Crown’ talks about filming the scenes where Prince Charles screams at then-wife Princess Diana.

    Nov 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Josh O’Connor struggled filming aggressive scenes as Prince Charles for the new season of “The Crown” as he terrified his co-star, Princess Diana actress Emma Corrin.
Season four of the hit Netflix royal drama covers the breakdown of the pair’s marriage, with Charles on one occasion seen flying into a jealous rage after the Princess of Wales proves more popular than him during a royal tour of Australia, among other incidents.
The 30-year-old actor tells MailOnline it took him time, after playing the part across two seasons, “to work out what really triggered” Charles, stressing that his take is a fictionalised one, based on real events.
“He wants to marry Camilla (Parker Bowles, Prince Charles’ current wife), but he’s shut down,” says Josh. “He goes to the Queen to say, in essence, ‘This marriage isn’t working. Diana’s not happy, I’m not happy. Camilla’s not happy.’ And he’s shut down, shut down, shut down.”

The brooding tensions lead to a number of confrontations which, according to the actor, left him feeling “awful” for terrifying Corrin – with whom he’d developed a strong bond while working together.
“I felt awful,” the young actor admits. “I tend to keep myself to myself, especially on days where it’s that kind of emotional scene. Emma and I get on very well,’ he told me. When they were filming the ‘Australian’ scenes, on location in Majorca, they ‘roamed around for weeks on electric scooters.’ ”
“But on the day, they go, ‘Action!’ – and I scream in her face. All I want to do is give her a hug and say, ‘I’m so sorry.’ ”
He goes on to explain his heightened performance is inspired by creator Peter Morgan’s writing, which he describes as “Shakespearean in its melodrama.” Josh also drew on Michael Corleone – Al Pacino’s mafia boss character in “The Godfather – remarking, “I definitely referenced him.”
“The Crown” season four debuts on Netflix on 15 November (20).

The drama will feature Jodie as Anne, the Tudor monarch’s second wife, who was beheaded for treason amid claims of adultery, as she struggles to secure a future for her daughter, the future Queen Elizabeth I.
According to Variety, Stanley, who played Grenn in “Game of Thrones”, has now been picked for the role of Henry.
“Dating Amber” ‘s Lola Petticrew will portray Anne’s love rival, Jane Seymour, while Anna Brewster will play Anne’s scheming sister-in-law Jane Boleyn. Isabella Laughland stars as Anne’s companion and friend Elizabeth Browne.

Other actors who have also joined the cast include James Harkness, Kris Hitchen, Turlough Convery, and Aoife Hinds.

“Hamilton” star Jamael Westman, Amanda Burton, and Thalissa Teixeira will also appear in the drama, which is directed by Lynsey Miller, and is already in production in Leeds, England.
With the working title “Anne Boleyn”, the show will reportedly follow her downfall from Henry’s much loved Queen to her beheading, and shine a feminist light on the brutal reality of a patriarchal Tudor society. It will also examine how her failure to give Henry a male heir affected her standing.
“Delving deeper into Anne Boleyn’s immense strengths while examining her fatal weaknesses and vulnerabilities, Eve’s scripts immediately captured my imagination,” Turner-Smith said.
