Nicole Kidman to Take Double Duties on Series Adaptation of 'Things I Know to Be True'

    Instagram

While the ‘Big Little Lies’ star will star in and executive produce the TV drama about the Price family, playwright Andrew Bovell is slated to rework the storyline for the screen.

    Oct 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Nicole Kidman is adding to her slate of TV projects with an upcoming adaptation of the play “Things I Know To Be True”.
The actress will star in and executive produce the drama, which centres on the struggles of the Price family, and playwright Andrew Bovell, Kidman’s fellow Australian, will rework the storyline for the screen.
It has been given a series order by Amazon streaming bosses, and Kidman is excited to get started on the project.
“I’ll never forget the experience I had watching Andrew’s play in Sydney, having one of those transcendent theatre experiences,” Kidman said in a statement to Variety.

“Andrew’s play is exquisite and his scripts for the series are just as good. With Amazon’s belief, (head of Amazon Studios) Jen Salke’s guidance, and an extraordinary producing team, we have big hopes for what this can be.”
Added Bovell, “This is a story about family, that thing you spend your life trying to escape from only to yearn for what you’ve lost if you ever do.
“I’m thrilled that an actor of Nicole Kidman’s calibre leads the series in the role of Fran Price. As a mother and a woman she is complicated, difficult and utterly compelling. I’m also thrilled that a company of Amazon Studios’ significance has shown such confidence in the story and will take it to a global audience.”
“Things I Know to Be True” is the latest TV gig for Kidman. She has already found success on the small screen with the critically-acclaimed series “Big Little Lies”, based on the book by Liane Moriarty, while she is currently filming “Nine Perfect Strangers”, inspired by another of the author’s works.
The Oscar winner is additionally starring in new HBO drama “The Undoing”, another book-to-screen venture.

'RHOC': Braunwyn Windham-Burke Is Livid After Gina Kirschenheiter Mentions Her Alcohol Abuse

    Instagram

In a new episode of ‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’, Braunwyn can be seen throwing a glass and tearfully storming off after a heated confrontation with Gina at Shannon Beador’s housewarming party.

    Oct 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Gina Kirschenheiter’s drama escalated when they were at Shannon Beador’s housewarming party. In the Wednesday, October 28 episode of “The Real Housewives of Orange County”, Braunwyn could be seen throwing a glass and tearfully storming off after a heated confrontation with Gina.
The two talked about Braunwyn allegedly slamming the size of Gina’s new condo. Braunwyn also claimed that Shannon called Gina’s new place “sad and depressing,” though Shannon denied them when she was confronted by Gina.
“I never said that. I said it was small. I didn’t mean it [in a bad way],” Shannon insisted. “I have to tell you, Braunwyn came over to my house and said, ‘I’m sorry I threw you under the bus.’ I would never call someone’s place sad.”
“I have to tell you, Gina, I’m a renter. [Kelly Dodd] is a renter. Braunwyn is a renter. You’re an owner,” she continued. “I don’t even know if I’ll be able to buy a house. You’re happy. I’m happy. I am so proud of you. There’s nothing sad about your life.”

After the confrontration, Shannon pulled Braunwyn aside. “I have to tell you, I’ve been upset. I said her place was small, I never said her place was sad. That’s not in my vocabulary,” she told Braunwyn, who fired back, “You did say it.”
When Shannon accused her of hearing things wrong, Braunwyn was livid and said, “I’m sober now – for the first time in my life I have a memory I can trust. I’m not wrong. I remember exactly what happened.” She went on saying, “Either you’re lying to me or you don’t remember what happened.”
Braunwyn and Gina then tried to clear things out between them with Gina putting the blame on Braunwyn, accusing her of starting everything by gossiping in the first place. “Let’s call a spade a spade – nobody would be saying anything about my situation if your wife wasn’t going around launching some crazy attack on me,” she alleged. “If you had an issue with me, come to me with your issue, don’t go around slamming me because I don’t have as much money as you guys have.”
Braunwyn insisted that it had “nothing to do with money” but “with character” instead. Livid, Gina slammed Braunwyn over her alcohol issue. “Character?! You’re going to talk to me about character?! Braunwyn, wake up. You’re a sloppy Chihuahua. You’re never clear. You’re wasted all the time! Get over yourself. Go get wasted again!” she told Braunwyn.
The remarks appeared to be the last straw for Braunwyn. “I’m 30 days sober, b***h!” Braunwyn yelled. She then threw her glass and stormed off.

    CBS

In the Wednesday, October 28 episode, Cody was announced as the winner of the hit CBS reality series, edging out fellow finalists Enzo Palumbo and Nicole Franzel.

    Oct 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Season 22 of “Big Brother: All-Stars” has crowned a winner. In the final episode, which aired on Wednesday, October 28, Cody Calafiore was announced as the winner of the hit CBS reality series, edging out fellow finalists Enzo Palumbo and Nicole Franzel.
In the Wednesday episode, Nicole defeated Cody and Enzo in the Halloween-themed part 1 of the final Head of Household competition of the season, which sent her directly to part 3. Later in part 2, Cody and Enzo must put the correct houseguests’ cardboard cutouts in front of different postcard backdrops. To win the challenge, they had to snap photos of them at the right moment with swinging pig heads captured in the frame.

After finishing the task in less than five minutes, Cody won over Enzo. That meant, Cody and Nicole would compete against each other in part 3 where they had to correctly identify false statements about the jurors and their time in the BB house. Cody guessed the first question correctly and continued to lead, leading him to be the final Head of Household. He decided to evict Nicole and take Enzo to compete in the final 2.
Nicole went emotional in her interview with host Julie Chen before later joining previously-evicted houseguests Ian Terry, Da’Vonne Rogers, Kevin Campbell, David Alexander, Dani Briones, Tyler Crispen, Memphis Garrett and Christmas Abbott as the ninth and final member of the jury.
It was time for both Cody and Enzo to pitch to the jury in hope of winning the coveted $500,000 grand prize. Eventually, Cody ultimately defeated Enzo and was named as the winner of season 22 after earning all nine jury votes. That marks the third times for such thing happened in the “Big Brother” franchise history. Dan Gheesling unanimously won season 10 and Tamar Braxton also snagged the prize by gaining all jury votes on “Celebrity Big Brother”.

    Instagram

However, the role eventually went to DeAnna Pappas, who previously competed in Brad Womack’s season of ‘The Bachelor’, mostly because of Ellen DeGeneres’ push.

    Oct 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Selling Sunset” star Chrishell Stause almost became a leading lady on “The Bachelorette”. Robert Mills, ABC’s Senior Vice President of Alternative Series, Specials and Late Night Programming, made the revelation during his appearance on Nick Viall’s podcast “The Viall Files”.
“I actually had lunch with Chrishell – this was about 10 or 11 years ago – to talk about being the Bachelorette,” he told the former “The Bachelor” star on Wednesday, October 28. “There was a time when ‘Bachelorette’ was sort of done just, like, every so often when they decided to do it,” he went on explaining, adding there were “four Bachelors for every one Bachelorette.”
Mills said that a casting director recommended the “All My Children” actress to him for the gig. “We had this incredible lunch, I think it was at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and she was awesome. And I was convinced. I’m like, ‘This is the Bachelorette,’ ” Mills recalled.
However, the role eventually went to DeAnna Pappas, who previously competed in Brad Womack’s season of “The Bachelor”, mostly because of Ellen DeGeneres’ push. “I remember Ellen DeGeneres actually calling the president of ABC at the time saying, ‘This woman needs to be the Bachelorette,’ ” Mills added. “This was before we even said we were going to do a Bachelorette. And, at that point, it’s like, ‘Well how do we not do that?’ ”

Although she missed the opportunity to be a Bachelorette, the actress and reality TV star is currently competing in season 29 of “Dancing with the Stars”. In her interview on “Tamron Hall Show”, the 39-year-old shared that she wanted to focus on “DWTS” before going back to the dating game following her split from ex-husband Justin Hartley.
“I’m not dating [right now],” she told host Tamron Hall. “You know, I’m really busy. I’m trying to work on my cha-chas and my contemporaries,” Chrishell added. The real estate agent alluded that as for now, she wanted to fully focus on the ABC dancing competition.
However, she wanted to get back to find new love as soon as “Dancing with the Stars” is over. “It’s something I’m looking forward to as soon as it’s over, but hopefully people will vote so it won’t be right away,” she joked. “I’m going to venture out once I’m done with this.”
“You know, Tamron, what it really is,” she went on to say. “I’m just waiting to get my dancer body on and then I’m gonna be like, ‘OK, I’m ready!’ ”

Nicole also confirmed Liane Moriarty, the author of the books that inspired the first season and its follow-up, is hard at work on a story that will form the basis of season three.
Earlier this month, Kidman shared she is keen to reunite with her “Big Little Lies” castmates, telling Marie Claire, “Reese and I talk or text once a week. She’s just moved back to Nashville and we’re really close. We all just want to work together again.”

  • Ruby Rose Admits Returning to Film 'Batwoman' Soon After Back Surgery 'Wasn't the Best Idea'

    The CW

In a new interview, the ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage’ star reveals her back injury played a part in her decision to exit The CW’s series, though she’s keen on returning to TV someday.
    Aug 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ruby Rose has finally revealed the real reasons behind her shocking departure from “Batwoman”. Less than three months after choosing to stay silent about her exit from The CW’s series, the actress known for her role as Kate Kane divulged that her back injury played a big part in her deciding against returning for a second season.
The 34-year-old actress, who injured her back in an on-set accident in 2019, made the revelation in an interview with Entertainment Weekly published on Monday, August 11. When addressing the challenges she faced as the lead star, she confessed that her decision to return filming the superhero series soon after undergoing back surgery “wasn’t the best idea.”
Having said that “being the lead of a superhero show was tough,” Ruby explained, “But I think, in that particular instance, it was a lot more difficult because I was still recovering from my surgery. I had my surgery and then 10 days later I went to work, which maybe wasn’t the best idea.” She added, “Most people take about a month or three off before they return to work, so it was definitely made more difficult by that.”
In the chat, the former “Orange Is the New Black” star additionally offered another reason for her exit. “It wasn’t so much [the injury], especially because after we wrapped up we didn’t get to finish the real finale because of COVID,” she shared. “You know, you have time in quarantine and sort of isolation to just think about a lot of different things and what you want to achieve in life and what you want to do.”
Fortunately, Ruby was able to have an honest conversation with producers about her decision to leave. “I think for both [me and the producers], it was a great opportunity to have a dialogue about a lot of things,” she clarified. “I respect them so much and they’ve been so respectful to me.”
Despite her departure, Ruby insisted she was “honored” to have been given the chance to take on the LGBTQ character. “The accomplishment and the trust that people put in you to do that role and then there’s also the vibrancy of being able to come on set and set the mood and the tone and the trust being put into it is something that’s been such an honor,” she stated.
“And I love my experience in ‘[Batwoman]’. I’m so grateful that we got to achieve everything that we did and I’m proud of everyone that worked on it. I’m proud of myself for working under sort of interesting circumstances, you know, with the recovery and all,” she continued. “I would definitely do [TV] again. I just think that it was also time for me to take a break to fully heal and then return.”
Ruby is also highly supportive of Javicia Leslie who has been signed to front the second season. “I think she definitely knows what she’s doing and she seems fantastic,” she raved. “I think that honestly, I was so proud and so happy when I was told who would be replacing me. I’m just really stoked and I’m definitely going to watch the next season as well and see how it all comes together.”
