  • Zoe Kravitz Blasts Hulu for Lack of Diversity Following 'High Fidelity' Cancellation

    WENN

Some fans are also angered by the cancellation as one says, ‘This is why their decision was so nonsensical! Cancelling this show, taking away this nuanced portrayal of a woman of color.’
    Aug 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Zoe Kravitz is calling out Hulu for its lack of diversity. The actress has taken a jab at the network publicly, days after her series on the streaming platform, “High Fidelity”, was canceled after one season.
“i wanna give a shout out to my #highfidelity family. thank you for all the love and heart you put into this show. i’m in awe of all of you. and thank you to everyone who watched, loved and supported us. #breakupssuck,” she wrote alongside a picture of her and her co-stars.
Some celebrity fans reacted to her post as Mindy Kaling wrote in the comment section, “Oh I loved #HighFidelity! This is sad news.” Zoe’s “Big Little Lies” co-star Reese Witherspoon also chimed in, saying, “I am so sad. I loved this show.”
Lena Waithe, meanwhile, wrote, “NOOOOOOO!!! I rarely find shows that genuinely impress me. This one did. I told you how much I loved this show. And I still do. This one definitely deserved another season.”
Tessa Thompson then commented on Saturday, August 8, “I will miss you alllllllllllll so much.” In her response to Tessa’s comment, Zoe threw a shade at Hulu. “It’s cool. At least Hulu has a ton of other shows starring women of color we can watch. Oh wait,” so she replied. When it comes to series with black woman in the lead, Hulu only has limited series “Little Fires Everywhere”.
Some fans were also angered by the cancellation. “This is why their decision was so nonsensical! Cancelling this show, taking away this nuanced portrayal of a woman of color …one of their worst decisions,” wrote a fan. “Btw, where was the promo? I only found out about this show by stumbling upon an article online.”
“High Fidelity” was inspired by Nick Hornby’s novel and the 2000 John Cusack film which starred her mother Lisa Bonet. It centered on Zoe’s Rob, a record store owner who is a pop culture nut and loves a good “Top 5” list.

  • Claire Danes Calls Herself Masochist for Reading Bad 'Homeland' Reviews While in Labor

    Fox 21

When sharing her experience in giving birth to her first child, the actress playing Carrie Mathison in the series recalls going into labor during a shopping spree with her husband, Hugh Dancy.
    Aug 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Claire Danes put herself through torment as she was giving birth to her first child in 2012 by reading bad reviews about the finale of the second season of “Homeland”.
The actress reveals she went into labour early during a shopping spree with her husband, Hugh Dancy, and while she was struggling with the birth she decided to check out what the critics were saying about her hit show.
“The birth of Cyrus was planned and happened to be the (same day as the) airing of the finale of the second season,” she says during a virtual 92Y in Conversation event. “Hugh and I were at Bed, Bath and Beyond (store) getting the last few things that we needed, and it all happened much faster than it was supposed to. It wasn’t supposed to happen until the next morning.”
“I was in increasing agony, awake, and I should’ve been asleep and it occurred to me that the finale had aired. I’m on my phone wondering what people thought about it, looking for feedback which is the worst thing you can do because inevitably someone will say something bad. It was the definition of masochism. I am in labour and reading bad reviews!”.

And she admits young Cyrus’ life has been all about Homeland, which finished its run earlier this year, adding, “My son went to his first school ever, kindergarten, in Germany. When he was throwing tantrums at three years old and he was literally saying, ‘Nein, nein, nein!’ He spent almost a full year in school in Morocco. He’s such an international little dude now.”
“All of those influences have shaped him in very real ways. It’s been very informative for us and our offspring. I mean my son was inside me kicking when we were filming. Lesli (Linka Glatter) was holding him while she was directing for four months. On the final season he was on her lap literally calling, ‘Action’ and ‘Cut.’ It was kind of amazing.”

    Aug 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Simon Cowell is forced to skip filming of “America’s Got Talent” following an electric bike accident on Saturday, August 8 that made him undergo a back surgery. A representative for NBC confirms that Simon will not be present during “America’s Got Talent” inaugural live episodes on Tuesday and Wednesday as he missed Sunday’s filming.
His MIA was greatly felt by fellow judges as Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum both took to their Instagram account to share a photo from the Universal Studios stage. The picture saw the two and Howie Mandel pointing out to Simon’s empty seat.
“We miss our boss!! Come back fast @simoncowell!!” the former “Modern Family” star wrote in the caption. Meanwhile, Heidi captioned her post, “Wishing you a speedy recovery @simoncowell.”

The 47-year-old German beauty also spoke about Simon’s absence on Instagram Stories. “Filming today for ‘America’s Got Talent’ and I’m here next to Simon’s trailer,” the model said in one clip. “I just wanted to say I miss you Simon and get well soon.”

Simon was hospitalized on Saturday after falling off his bike at his home in Malibu, California. The 60-year-old was “testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his house in Malibu with his family,” when he suffered a nasty fall, a representative for the star told PEOPLE.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Simon has been spending quality family time with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, their six-year-old son Eric, and her 14-year-old son Adam from a previous relationship.

  • Jennifer Aniston Assures Fans 'Friends' Reunion Will Be 'Super' as It's Delayed Yet Again

    NBC

The actress who plays runaway bride Rachel Green insists the reunion project will happen although it has been further delayed amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
    Aug 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jennifer Aniston has assured fans the highly-anticipated “Friends” reunion special will happen, despite ongoing delays amid the Covid-19 crisis.
On Friday (07Aug20), producer Leo Pearlman told Deadline filming had been slated to begin in the next two weeks, but representatives from streamer HBO Max distanced themselves from the claims, with reports emerging that the show had been pushed to May 2021.
Insisting that the gathering, also featuring David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, and Lisa Kudrow will definitely happen, Jennifer told the publication, “Unfortunately it’s very sad that we had to move it again. It was, ‘How do we do this with live audiences?’ This is not a safe time. Period. That’s the bottom line. It’s not a safe time to do it.”
While the star didn’t share any further details, she insisted the setback will give the cast and creatives a chance to work on the reunion more, adding, “It’s going to be super. You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been. So I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed.”
“Look, we’re not going anywhere. You’re never going to get rid of Friends, sorry. You’re stuck with us for life guys.”
The reunion was scheduled to air as the new streaming service debuted earlier this summer (20).

  • 'Grey's Anatomy' Will Be Set 'a Month and a Half' Into Covid-19 Pandemic for New Season

    ABC

The Ellen Pompeo-starring medical television drama series is expected to take place ‘a month and a half’ into the coronavirus health crisis when the show returns for the new episodes.
    Aug 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – The forthcoming series of “Grey’s Anatomy” will take place “a month and a half” into the Covid-19 pandemic.
Showruner Krista Vernoff previously confirmed that the series would indeed tackle the pandemic in the new season, insisting there’s “no way to be a long-running medical show and not do the medical story of our lifetimes.”
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, actor Giacomo Gianniotti, who has played Dr. Andrew DeLuca on the TV medical drama since 2015, opened up about the forthcoming episodes, confirming, “It’s going to take place a little beyond where we left off in the last season.”
“We might have some flashbacks. We might have some things where we’re referencing last season, just to have context leading up,” he explained. “But we are going to have a little leap when we start this season in terms of time. We’re not picking up right where we left off.”
According to Gianniotti, the show is hoping to resume filming in September.

  • Debra Messing Hated Her Body and Starved Herself as She Couldn't Fit Into 'Will and Grace' Costumes

    WENN

The Grace Adler depicter claims the outfits prepared for her onscreen character on the TV show are too small so she would just leave hating herself and her body.
    Aug 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Debra Messing is convinced she was too skinny during the first run of TV sitcom “Will & Grace” after starving herself to fit into costumes.
The actress reveals she dropped from a size eight to a size two after realising she was too big to squeeze into outfits picked out for her Grace Adler character.
“When I started Will & Grace I was a size eight and what happened was, every time I would go in for a fitting, I couldn’t fit into clothes,” Debra told Jameela Jamil on her I Weigh podcast. “Eighty per cent of it, I couldn’t fit into and I would just leave hating my body and hating myself.”
“I loved my costume designer; she would always say, ‘Don’t worry,’ and she would talk to her assistant and say, ‘OK, can you call over and get a larger size?’ And that was sort of the thing that was always on repeat all the time.”
“So of course, I thought, ‘My life would be so much easier, and it would be easier on everybody trying to do their job, if I just lost weight’. So I started doing yoga every single day and I did one of those meal delivery services. I started to get smaller and then I was a (size) six, and they were like, ‘You’re losing weight, you look amazing!’ ”
The message she heard “as a woman was, ‘Oh, this is making them happy, so I should do more of it.’ ”
And then “Ally McBeal” stars Calista Flockhart and Portia de Rossi started to make super-skinny fashionable in Hollywood – and Debra felt too big again, “I would try to fit into these gowns and of course they weren’t sample sizes and it was like, ‘OK, we have to let out the seams…’ ”
“This was supposed to be the greatest time of my life… – I was standing next to all of these other actresses who were half my size, and I felt fat, and I felt ugly. I look back at those pictures and I was beautiful! I mourn the fact that that was my interpretation of reality and that was the torture that I put myself through.”
“I was way too skinny… but I fit into everything… So all of a sudden, everything seemed to open up for me, because I was a (size) two.”

  • Bryan Cranston Would Love to Join 'Breaking Bad' Spin-Off 'Better Call Saul'

The Walter White depicter says he would jump at the chance of reprising his TV role in the Bob Odenkirk-starring series about Saul Goodman if he’s asked to.
    Aug 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Bryan Cranston wants to reprise his iconic role as Walter White in “Breaking Bad in its spin-off “Better Call Saul”.
The AMC drama focusing on criminal lawyer Saul Goodman’s past has now reached a fifth season, which is set in 2004, four years before “Breaking Bad” ‘s Walter begins his journey from law-abiding chemistry teacher to methamphetamine kingpin.
Speaking to Collider, Bryan revealed he’d jump at the chance of a cameo role but creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould haven’t asked.
“I would be in (Better Call Saul) if Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, who are co-executive producers on it, wanted me to be in it,” he said. “I’d do it in a second. But it hasn’t happened yet, I can tell you, and we’ll see. I don’t know. There’s one more season to go and we’ll see what happens!”
Vince has previously expressed his desire for Bryan to join the “Better Call Saul} team alongside lead actor Bob Odenkirk – but as a director.
“I’d love to have Bryan direct an episode,” he told Collider. “I got to write an episode (of Breaking Bad) that Bryan directed and I was on set with him every day, and it was a wonderful experience. He’s a magnificent director. He’s one of the few directors who has a facility for the lightest comedy and the darkest drama. He’s remarkable.”
Bryan confirmed he’s been asked to get behind the camera on multiple occasions – but has always turned it down due to scheduling problems.
“I’ve been asked to direct an episode every single season and it just didn’t work out because of a commitment to doing a play or doing a movie or something, so I wasn’t able to section out the times available,” he said. “But I do love the show. I think it’s a fantastic show.”
The actor last played Walter in “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie”, in 2019, in which he appeared in a flashback.

  • 'Marriage Boot Camp': Tahiry Jose's Boyfriend Vado Kicked Out of House Following Choking Drama

    WE tv

Before sending the ‘Jeff Hamilton’ rapper to a hotel, the WEtv reality show’s host Dr. Ish assures him that he isn’t fired from the show after he choked his girlfriend.
    Aug 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Vado is facing the repercussion of assaulting girlfriend Tahiry Jose while filming for “Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition”. In the Thursday, August 6 episode of the WEtv show, host Dr. Ish and producers decided to kick him out after jumping on Tahiry and choking her in the previous episode.
“I can’t have you in the house,” Dr. Ish told Vado. “I can’t have people doing emotional work in an environment where they don’t feel safe.”
However, Dr. Ish assured him that he wasn’t fired from the show. “I’m not kicking you out of the program, but I gotta get you out of this house,” he continued explaining before Vado was sent to a hotel.
When asked why he attacked Tahiry, Vado tried to defend himself by saying that Tahiry threw apples at his face beforehand. “She can hit you with two hands on the face, you still can’t put hands back on her,” Dr. Ish told him. “You gotta use some words. You can’t use hands. You know you can’t do that. I can’t have you around her.”
Meanwhile, Tahiry was struggling to register what Vado did to her. “Vado lost it. He put his hands on me. That’s not like him,” she said in a confessional. Dr. Ish then assured her that “there’s nothing you did to trigger that. There’s nothing you did to deserve that.”
In the episode, Tahiry also opened up about surviving past domestic abuse. Sharing the clip to her Instagram account, she wrote, “I’ve definitely been reading through all of your comments, thoughts, and opinions on what happened during last weeks episode.”
“A lot of people feel a lot of different ways, and I understand that. I’ve spent this time gathering my thoughts so that when I do speak on it very soon I can do so from a place of healing, and not emotions,” she added. “THANK YOU to everybody that’s been sending me so much love! I truly appreciate it!”
