Young Thug Challenges Lil Wayne for 'Verzuz' Rap Battle

    WENN

The ‘Stoner’ rapper would love to hit the stage in a rap-off against the ‘Lollipop’ hitmaker for Timbaland and Swizz Beatz’s popular online music battle series.

    Dec 30, 2020
AceShowbiz – Young Thug wants to see a “Verzuz” battle between himself and Lil Wayne.
Timbaland and Swizz Beatz their Covid-busting online initiative earlier this year (20), setting up rap battles between stars including Snoop Dogg and DMX, and Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.
Now Young Thug has thrown his hat into the ring, insisting a Verzuz battle with Lil Wayne would be fantastic to watch.

During an interview on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, Young Thug said, “It would probably have to be like (Lil Wayne). Because you got to think – we got to talk about influence. We got to talk about everything. We got to talk about everything. It’s not just about no rap.”
“You got to understand, as rappers, as hip-hop artists, you can only go so far. I always just focused on the next level.”
Young Thug also reflected on when his beef with Wayne started – recalling that his peer ignored him the first time they met.
Meanwhile, 50 Cent thought it would be more interesting to see Lil Wayne battle it out with his former protege Drake. “I think because of the momentum, the best thing would be Lil Wayne versus Drake,” the “Get Rich or Die Tryin” star said in a recent interview before explaining, “because it’s two styles, two different styles in the same period so it will be entertaining enough to watch both of them.”

Young Thug Dragged on Twitter After Claiming to Have More 'Stadium Anthems' Than Jay-Z

    WENN/https://www.beyonce.com//Apega

The ‘Stoner’ rapper is trending on the blue bird app for shading the ‘Run This Town’ spitter though he quickly retracts his comment and acknowledges that Hova probably has more than 50 stadium-worthy songs.

    Dec 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Young Thug has made himself a sort of public enemy after dissing one of the biggest hip-hop stars in the late 20th to early 21st century. The Atlanta native has caught a lot of flak from Twitter users after questioning Jay-Z’s music catalog.
Appearing in a Monday, December 28 episode of Gillie Da Kid’s “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, Thugger was bragging about having 30 or 40 stadium-worthy anthems. He then compared his songs to Jigga’s, saying, “Jay-Z ain’t got 30 songs like that.”
Gillie disagreed, saying of Hova, “He got a lot, though.” Apparently realizing he said something wrong, Thug quickly backtracked on his remark as he acknowledged, “I’m just saying like, I know he do, he probably got 50 of them b***hes.”
“I’m not literally saying him,” the 29-year-old went on clarifying. “I’m saying n***as who you thinking … I seen n***as like, ‘Damn, they don’t know this song?’ I’m so scared to get boo’ed, I don’t even perform songs they won’t know.”

With a career that has spanned over two decades and 13 studio albums, Jay-Z has a bunch of Billboard hits and has sold over 29,179,000 studio albums as of December 2014. Meanwhile, Thug has released one solo studio album, three EPs and 19 mixtapes.

While Thug quickly backtracked on his comment, the damage has been done. Jay-Z’s fans won’t let it pass and has been dragging the “Go Crazy” spitter on Twitter, making his name trending on the blue bird app for the wrong reason.
“25 years of rapping and Jay-Z don’t have 30 songs that a stadium knows and Young Thug does? Bruh…..cmon,” freelance journalist Keith Nelson Jr. reacted to Thug’s remark. Another noted, “First he disrespected 3 Stacks & now he’s dissing Jay-Z saying he doesn’t have 30 songs like that. Young Thug took a bad audience not knowing Jay’s s**t & is using it to further divide youth & elders. We don’t need this negativity separating 2 artists with hella fans & influence.”
“Did Young Thug compare his ignorant a** to Jay Z??” a third user slammed Thugger. Another told Thug to focus on making music instead, “Young Thug needs to just stop talking on legends and focus on releasing PUNK.”
A fifth commenter added, “Young Thug needs to pipe down. I was born in 1998 and can rap more Jay Z songs Woman shrugging these new generation rappers think to highly of themselves Rolling on the floor laughing nigga Jay-Z entire albums have no skips tf.”
“what does he gain from slandering Jay like are you dumb??” a baffled user asked. Another commented, “Young thug got JAY Z CONFUSED! Lmao n******a WHET,” while someone else quipped, “I’m here tryna figure out if I know 30 young thug songs much less 30 Jay Z songs.”
There were a few, however, who agreed with Thug’s initial comment. “He is not lying tho and this is not him saying he is better than jay z it’s just the truth…..NO ONE KNOWS 30 JAY Z SONGS BY HEART,” one explained. Another argued, “Young Thug ain’t lie tho, Lls the only Jay Z song I know is the story of OJ.”

  • Young Thug Responds to Pusha T Accusing Drake of Snitching: Do It on Your Song

    WENN

Blasting the former Clipse member’s verse as ‘weak,’ Thugger doesn’t take his collaborator’s explanation about his beef with the Canadian star and alleges that he only wanted to ride Pop Smoke’s coattails.
    Jul 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Young Thug and Pusha T’s social media war continues as the former blasts the latter for using Pop Smoke’s song to diss Drake. Responding to the GOOD Music president’s claims that the Canadian superstar is a snitch, Thugger still doesn’t care about the two rappers’ beef and has called out Pusha again for riding Smoke’s coattails.
“First of all, your verse is seven days if you know what I mean,” Thug said in an Instagram video posted on Tuesday, July 7. “I’m talking about weak. Second of all, you already went crazy the first time, so you ain’t nuthin’ but a sucka going on double takes, triple takes and quadruple takes. You should’ve just got all of that out when you put the first song out. You didn’t even need to do all that.”
“You just feel like you not going to get enough views on your own s**t, so you came up with some bulls**t on a n***a who’s resting in peace music. Trying to f**k up a n***a’s whole vibe,” he added. “But you feel like it’s the perfect platform – Thug, Gunna and Pop Smoke – to go at this n***a’s a**. This is the perfect song to do it on.”
Telling the former member of hip-hop duo Clipse to take his beef with Drake to his own song, Thugger slammed Pusha, “Why the f**k don’t you do that on your own song? Do that s**t on your own song, n***a. I don’t give a f**k what y’all got going on. We kill for real.”

Prior to this, Thug angrily slammed Pusha for taking a shot at Drizzy in Smoke’s song titled “Paranoia” that was supposed to be included in his posthumous album “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon”. The song, which eventually didn’t make the cut into the album, also features Gunna.
“I don’t respect the pusha t verse on the song with me and gunna cause I don’t have nun to do with y’all beef nor does Gunna,” he wrote on Instagram Stories earlier on Tuesday. Claiming that he would never approve it, the “Danny Glover” spitter added, “and if I knew that was about him I would’ve made changes on our behalf.” He went on calling out Pusha for fanning his feud with Drake, writing, “This rapper s**t so gay.”
Catching wind of Thug’s remarks, Pusha later responded on his own Stories as writing, “1. Don’t feel bad, NOBODY knew what the verse was abt. The label heads that stopped it didn’t even know. They ONLY ASSUME because he told em.”
Accusing his nemesis Drake of snitching, he continued, “The same way HE TOLD abt the Ross ‘Maybach 6′ verse. And if HE’LL TELL record executives abt rap verses, God only knows what else HE’LL TELL! I don’t deal in Police Work, Police Rappers of Police N***a.”
He went on trolling Pusha, pointing out, “@youngthug you were the last verse added to the song and that’s ONLY because I requested YOU!!” He also claimed that he was the one who asked to be removed from Smoke’s album to “avoid any confusion.”

In the next cryptic post, he added, “From rappers crying to record execs to blatant label censorship, I don’t ride with none of it…but love every bit of it!!” Possibly hitting back at the haters who have put him under scrutiny, the New York City native remarked, “Now y’all run along and be gangsters, but u leave the devil alone!”

  • Young Thug Chides Pusha T for Using Pop Smoke's Song to Diss Drake

    WENN

The ‘Stoner’ hitmaker disapproves of the GOOD Music president’s bars of their collaboration with the late rapper in which he throws shade at the Canadian star.
    Jul 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Young Thug refuses to be dragged into the Pusha T and Drake drama. After reports emerged that the former member of hip-hop duo Clipse dissed Drizzy in a song that was supposed to be featured on Pop Smoke’s posthumous album “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon”, Thugger has blasted his collaborator on social media.
Taking to his Instagram Stories on early Tuesday, July 7, Thugger said he wasn’t aware at the time that Pusha was taking aim at the Canadian superstar in the song. He wrote, “I don’t respect the pusha t verse on the song with me and gunna cause I don’t have nun to do with y’all beef nor does Gunna.”
Claiming that he would never approve it, the “Danny Glover” spitter added, “and if I knew that was about him I would’ve made changes on our behalf.” He went on calling out the president of Kanye West’s record label GOOD Music for using the song to fan his feud with Drake, writing, “This rapper s**t so gay.”

Earlier this month, Hip-Hop Lately revealed that Pusha was going to be featured on Pop Smoke’s album in a track called “Paranoid”. In his verse, he takes a shot at Drake, referencing a 2018 incident during a Toronto concert.
“You know reality bites/ It’s chess not checkers/ Those empty threats only sound good on your records/ If the patois is not followed by blocka/ It’s like marked for death Screwface, without the choppa/ Let ’em rush the stage when you made like Sinatra,” Pusha raps, potentially referencing Drake’s use of the dialect and a 2018 incident when several men rushed the stage during Pusha’s “Daytona Tour” show in Toronto.
In another part of the song, he mentions Mississauga, the neighboring city to Drake’s hometown of Toronto. “Only to find the blade, flyin’ back through LaGuardia/ I might even buy a home out in Mississauga/ On my walls, half scrawls of Tshabalala’s/ Many doors, that are sprawled, they my il nana’s,” he spits his bars. “Make a call, she gon’ crawl, Bad Gyal Patra/ I’m involved then absolved, I am Godfather, hush.”
Responding to the news, a fan wrote in an Instagram comment, “Why’d y’all take off thug. I always said I wanted to hear both of them on a track. rip wooski.” Steven Victor, the head of Pop Smoke’s label Victor Victor Worldwide, later replied, “glitch will be on ASAP.”
