Kate Beckinsale quickly found out why cats are meant to sit on laps and not in trousers in a hilarious video.
The Underworld actress has cheered up much of the internet over the past few months thanks to her comical clips with her cats Clive and Willow.
But in her most recent Instagram post to her 4.5 million followers, she discovered even her furry friends can get a bit too close for comfort.
The clip shows the 47-year-old chilling on the floor in a white jumper and jogger combo.
Clive is casually sitting on her stomach – with half of his body tucked into her bottoms.

“I feel like we’ve been hanging out too much,” Kate jokes.
“I feel like maybe we’ve crossed the line and it’s going to be difficult to get back from… do you?”
But she then yelps in pain as the cat’s tail moves into a rather uncompromising position.
The clip has been seen more than 360,000 times since it was posted earlier today (November 24).
In the caption, Kate joked: “Even though a ten pound cat down the trousers sounds like a good idea, apparently it’s overrated.”

And viewers were left in stitches with what they saw, with one writing: “Your posts never fail to make me laugh, and I really needed this laughter today. Thank you.”
Another said: “That’s hilarious.”
And a third commented: “You know you’ve been hanging out too much when one of you is chilling in the other’s pants.”
It comes after Kate set pulses racing after stripping to a bra to urge people to vote in the recent US elections.
