Former Love Island contestant Zara McDermott took to her social media platform to apologise to critics after saying she’d “let herself go” on holiday.
The 23-year-old, who often parades her incredibly svelte curves in an array of scantily-clad items, faced backlash after posting a bikini video.
Zara looked fabulous in the snippet as she showcased her toned torso during her trip to Marbella.
But, despite looking sensational, Zara didn’t appear to be elated with her figure after she’d relaxed and enjoyed lots of holiday food and drink and said she had “let herself go”.

She then captioned the video for a second time, saying: “Me this morning, I’ve indulged in loads of amazing food this holiday and I’m excited to get home and get cooking again.”
But her original caption, which stated she’d “let herself go”, had already been observed by many of her 107,000 followers, who were keen to challenge her.
One person penned: “Surely you see why the words ‘I’ve let myself go’ wasn’t the best phrase to use though.”
To which Zara replied back: “Yes I see that and changed the caption.
“I personally saw it as a phrase that meant ‘I’ve eaten what I wanted’ and perhaps I had a different definition of the saying in my mind.
“My intention is never to upset anyone.”

Another warned the reality star: “I feel like you don’t have a negative intention in writing this, however please be careful with your wording.
“‘Letting yourself go, whilst on holiday’, sounds like you’re suggesting that relaxing and enjoying yourself on holiday is something negative and needs to be fixed.
“You’re very slim and very young, a week or even 5 weeks with a relaxed approach on holiday is not something that needs to be dramatically compensated for afterwards.”
Responding to the concerning comment, Zara added: “My head is honestly completely healthy. I’m fortunate not to suffer from any kind of mental health or eating disorder and I’m completely healthy.

“I eat a healthy balanced diet and exercise 3 times a week, that’s all I have ever promoted. But I have over 100k followers on here who want me to share my journey and what I’m up to in terms of my diet and fitness, and because I’m not a personal trainer I don’t feel overly competent to share my fitness regime.
“I share a lot about my diet and what I am eating but it was a huge lifestyle change for me and I’ve had to learn a lot about food in order to have a healthy balanced diet and understand what is good for me!”
Zara has joined her Made In Chelsea boyfriend Sam Thompson and a group of friends on holiday in Marbella and the gang seem to be having lots of fun in the sun.
The clan wasted no time at all jetting off to warmer climates as the British government eased coronavirus lockdown measures.
