BBC Breakfast reporter Anna Holligan came under fire from viewers on Friday morning, after she used her telephone to report the news from Valkenburg.
Anna was providing viewers with updates regarding the floods that have taken place during the last 24 hours in Germany, Belgium and some parts of the Netherlands.
The floods have caused devastation and a number of deaths across the region.
But although Anna tried her best to provide information regarding the floods, viewers at home were unimpressed with her shaky camera skills and the fact she was using her phone.
Taking to Twitter, one confused fan penned: “Selfie reporting is a thing???”
Another said: “#holligan is making me dizzy. Can she flip her camera and get out of shot?”
While a third annoyed viewer said: “Where the f**k did they find that reporter?”
But viewers frustration didn’t seem to end there, as Anna went on to interview a resident and asked whether she could look inside her house.
While interviewing Bridget from Valkenburg, Anna asked: “What kind of support have you had from officials or from the government?
“We see these firefighters have been working all night haven’t they.”
The resident replied: “They have, they have. But here on the street there was nothing they could do.
“Just police coming from time to time to send away the ‘tourists’ we call them…”
“Disaster tourists,” Anna chimed.
Bridget then nodded and agreed and said she didn’t really like that.
Anna then pointed her camera to Bridget’s home behind her and asked: “Can we have a look inside? Do you mind?”
Appearing rather taken aback, Bridget replied: “Err, I think my husband has fallen asleep again.”
Anna then proceeded to take a look outside and around her home instead.
BBC Breakfast fans at home also noticed that Anna’s reporting was fairly unprofessional and took to Twitter to air their opinions on this too.
One tweeter commented: “This #bbcbreakfast reporter (Anna?) in Valkenburg is truly awful! Offering no reassurance or empathy for that poor Brigitte lady she’s interviewing. Just wanting to get more information out of her. Even asking to see the inside of her house!”
Another said: “This interviewer is a disaster tourist.”
According to reports by the BBC, 80 people have died and hundreds more are unaccounted for in Germany.
Belgium has also reported that at least 11 people have passed away as a result of the extreme weather conditions.
