Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson shows red marks from unusual treatment on ripped body

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is famous for putting his body through the ringer – but no one saw his latest experiment coming.

The famously jacked Hollywood action hero works out an unholy amount and ploughs through enough food to compliment the grind, but he’s now turning to alternative techniques to look after himself.

Cupping treatment is an ancient therapy in which a person puts suction cups on their skin to help with with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, or just as a deep-tissue massage.

And it’s left its mark on The Rock, with the star sharing a look at his back in the aftermath of the treatment where dark red circles had taken shape.

Dwayne’s a ‘first-time cupper’

“First time cupper over here,” he captioned the snap. “Looks more gnarly than it feels, but over all I enjoyed the therapy.

“Always looking for new techniques to keep this 250million year old dinosaur body balanced and optimal with not only all my past injuries but my daily grinding family/work/training/repeat schedule.

“It all takes its toll, so being proactive is critical.

“We only get one body, so we gotta take care of it.”

The Jumanji star recently earned applause for gifting brand new Xbox Series X consoles to 20 children’s hospitals.

The Rock also engraved messages on each one before gifting them to kids too unwell to leave their hospital rooms.

“Keep smiling and have fun. Love, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson,” he penned in gold font.

The gesture comes two decades after The Rock got up onstage with Bill Gates to launch the first ever machine.

He told his Instagram followers that “stuff like this will always be the best part of my fame”.

“What is important is over the next year we have 50,000 kids who are going to be able to play this game,” he revealed.

“You kids show me and the world what real strengths means.”

The star was branded “so awesome” after making the gesture.
