Emmerdale character Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) seems set for some heartache in coming episodes when she learns something about her boyfriend Luke Posner (Max Parker).
In recent episodes, viewers have been learning a little more about Luke’s past after it was revealed that newbie Ethan Anderson (Emile John) knew him before.
New Emmerdale spoilers have revealed that Victoria will soon find out what Luke has been urging Ethan not to tell her.
Chef Luke will make a big show of seeming all loved-up with Victoria in front of Ethan, after he told him that his past was behind him.
But before long, Ethan gives Luke some food for thought.
Eventually, Luke tells Victoria that they need to talk, and she’s stunned when he confesses that he’s been with a man.
Recently, the ITV soap has been exploring Luke’s sexuality, after Ethan was seen to be shocked that Luke was with a woman.
Ethan spoke to Luke about his history with a guy called Steven, but Luke tried to downplay it as a one-off.
However viewers discovered Luke had actually been dating Steven for quite a while, suggesting it was more serious.
But Luke told Ethan: “During that time I realise that wasn’t who I am. I mean, I thought it was but it isn’t. Why can’t you accept that?”
Ethan became concerned that Luke was stringing Victoria along, and that she could get hurt, but Luke assured him he was not gay
He told the newbie: “I’m a straight man, with a girlfriend that I love. Accept it or not, but either way, shut up and butt out.”
The storyline has left fans predicting a romance between Luke and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), after the characters first crossed paths outside a gay bar in early 2020.
Luke had been by a gay bar as Aaron was getting thrown out of it, when he’d gone to hook up with a random guy.
New Emmerdale actor Emile John said viewers would definitely want to tune in to watch how the storyline unravels.
“I feel like it definitely isn’t how you’d expect their relationship to start, but all I can say is that people probably won’t want to miss it,” he said.
“Ethan thrives in exposing the truth and revealing people’s shortcomings, in the hope that they might be able to learn about themselves and grow. It’s a harsh method, and with a method like this, there’s sure to be consequences.
“In the case of Luke and Victoria, it could shatter the trust between them. It could do a lot of damage, but as for what happens next, I guess we’ll have to see.”
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays, on ITV
