GMB hit with technical blunder as guest suddenly gets cut off during interview

Good Morning Britain suffered a technical blunder on Wednesday after a guest appeared to experience technical difficulties.

Appearing on the ITV breakfast show via video link, proud father Simon Fry came on the programme to discuss his daughter Charlotte Fry, who received a bronze medal as part of GB’s dressage team at the Tokyo Olympics.

However, Simon was hit with major technical issues before he could even express his happiness to presenters Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard.

Kicking off the interview, Kate said to Simon from Scarborough: “Good morning to you, how you feeling has it sunk in yet?

“Are you able to show those emotions?” She questioned.

But Simon’s bad line left him unable to answer promptly.

The terrible line on Simon’s end forced presenters Kate and Ben to cut him off abruptly and continue on with the rest of the show.

Simon’s line was very bad and he was cut off quickly

Viewers at home certainly noticed the unclear video footage and took to Twitter to share their views.

One fan questioned: “It blows my mind when a video link dies, why oh why can we not go back to a phone call like the old days and a graphic?”

While another said: “Like the old days when staplegun was anchor…when the latest tech was a phone line and crap photo.”

Charlotte and team members Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin finished a respectable third place behind the Olympic title holders, Germany, and the US.

After receiving her Olympic medal, Charlotte said: “I’m pretty speechless but very, very proud and I think it’s pretty surreal actually that I’m stood here between these two [Hester and Dujardin] like dressage king and queen.”

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics was Fry’s debut as she topped Group A in Saturday’s qualifying round with a score of 77.096 on 12-year-old stallion Everdale.

The score was also the athlete’s personal best for the duo at international Grand Prix level.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am
