Holly Willoughby red-faced as she makes maths blunder amid This Morning return

This Morning host Holly Willoughby was left red-faced as she made a major blunder during Monday’s show.

The 40-year-old presenter and co-star Phillip Schofield were back on our screens after enjoying a half-term break.

They kicked off the latest edition of the ITV daytime show in style by entering the studio on electric scooters.

The City of London was last month announced by Transport for London as one of five boroughs where the electric-powered scooters could be hired from Monday under a 12-month Government-backed trial.

Phillip and Holly tested out the scooters live on air and the pair seemed to enjoy their experience.

Speaking about the electric scooter scheme, Phillip, 57, said: “Apparently they can go up to 40 miles per hour.

Holly added: “I wouldn’t want to be on it at 40 miles per hour.”

Her co-star agreed: “That was fast enough for me. To find them you need an app. They cost a £1 to unlock and 16p per minute to ride. So what’s that? Around £9.60 an hour.”

Holly joked: “You just totted that up in your head did you? You didn’t get the producer to work that our before we came on air.”

Phillip laughed: “We did about 10 minutes of maths before the show” before telling Holly: “You just blew me right up.”

As they tried to work out how much it would cost to rent the scooter for a day, Holly mistakenly said there were 12 hours in a day, instead of 24.

Correcting her error, she said: “We’re asleep for half the day that’s why I said 12.

A giggling Phillip joked: “Shall we leave it there?” Yeah let’s leave it there.”

Holly wore a “school summer dress” as she returned to This Morning after enjoying the half-term break with her family.

The mother-of-three, who is married to television producer Dan Baldwin, announced her return by sharing a photo of her latest outfit choice.

She opted for a white and blue striped dress with a pair of nude heels.

Holly styled her trademark blonde tresses in loose waves and shared what was coming up on the show in the caption of her Instagram post.

She penned: “Morning Monday… hope you’ve had a lovely week… it’s good to be back at @thismorning HQ… see you at 10am. #hwstyle.

“This dress reminds me of my summer dress at school… Dress by @monsoon heels by @officeshoes.”

Unsurprisingly, Holly’s followers were thrilled to see her return, with lots of them flooding the comment section to welcome her back.

One fan gushed: said: “I love your dress this morning, hope you had a lovely break.”
