Coronation Street confirms heartbreaking diagnosis for Faye Windass amid baby woes

Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed a heartbreaking diagnosis for Faye Windass amid more baby heartache.

In recent weeks, ITV soap viewers saw Faye discover she was pregnant – only to begin bleeding and rush to the hospital, terrified she was losing her unborn baby.

But what she found was that she’d never been pregnant at all, and the positive test was just an error. Faye was sent for more tests, with boyfriend Craig promising he wanted to have kids with her someday – just maybe not now.

It hasn’t been easy for foster child Faye since she arrived on the cobbles – between falling pregnant at 13 and being forced to give baby Miley up, finding herself incarcerated for attacking Adam Barlow and getting involved in the accidental death of Ted.

But things are set to get worse next week as she receives bad news from the doctor.

Faye is devastated

At the medical centre, Dr Gaddas breaks the tragic news to Faye that she is suffering from early menopause, and thus will never be able to conceive more children.

A devastated Faye tells her dad Tim – who has already bought baby clothes for his future grandchild – the news, before glumly heading off to tell Craig.

Later in the week, Craig twists the knife a bit more as he lets slip that his mum Beth thinks he should dump her because she can’t have children.

It isn’t only Faye who’s having medical issues on the street next week, though, as Peter’s alcoholism comes back to bite him.

He attends his consultation at the hospital with Mr Thorne after the liver transplant, but things soon take a turn for the worse as Mr Thorne accuses nurse Aggie of making him look incompetent in front of a patient, and issues her with a verbal warning.

She later hears him gloating to a coworker that he rushed Peter’s operation in order to win a bet – leaving her reeling.

She eventually tells another nurse that someone has reported Mr Thorne, and discovers all of his other operations have been cancelled until further notice.

Assuming it was Aggie’s doing, he accosts her and warns her that he plans to make her life at the hospital a misery.

Finally, Max is recovering from his glass wound, with the surgeon assuring David and Shona that he’s stable after a successful surgery.

Max admits he was fleeing in a bid to avoid prison – and later hears he’s been expelled from school as a result of his recent behaviour.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV
