Ben Shephard has bared all by revealing he almost turning to stripping in his university days in an effort to make some money.
But the Good Morning Britain host had his adult dancing dreams dashed by his now-wife, Annie, who talked him and his friend out of the idea.
Ben, 48, speaking on That Gaby Roslin Podcast, was asked what his dream role would have been and he surprisingly joked that he could appear in the new Magic Mike film, part of a franchise inspired by Channing Tatum’s experiences as a male stripper.

Gaby exclaimed: “Oh, no you’ve done that,” to which he agreed, explaining: “Me and Sam, my housemate – we decided to get some money. We were going to be strippers at the end of university time.

“And we were going to do some of the sport teams’ end-of-season parties to get some money,” adding: “Annie talked us out of it at the time and… I’m not sure that was such a good idea.”
The Tipping Point presenter also revealed he and Sam nearly performed for a lacrosse girls’ end-of-season party, which they were “all for”.
However, Annie stepped in again, telling him: “You are kidding, aren’t you? You know you’re not going to do this. As much as this seems like a really good idea to the two of you, you are not going to do this.”

Ben added: “So that was one thing she stopped me doing. And she’s always so encouraging!”
Annie was a philosophy student when Ben was studying contemporary dance at Birmingham University.
The broadcaster went on to marry his university sweetheart and he and Annie now have two sons, Sam, 17, and Jack, 15, together.
