More than 150 of Britain’s most-loved celebrities and public figures rode on Jubilee Pageant double-decker buses through the streets of London to represent each decade of the Queen’s 70 year reign.
To mark the final day of celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, some of the biggest stars from up and down the UK joined forces for an epic London street party on Sunday (June 5).
And it’s fair to say the festive celebrations certainly went off with a bang as Supermodel Kate Moss, TV presenter Holly Willoughby, actor Idris Elba and hit singer Sir Cliff Richard were amongst the many famous faces seen riding around on the open-top buses.
The colourful vehicles were decorated with images and famous slogans from each decade, including ‘Groovy’ from the 1970 and ‘Girl Power’ which was popularised by British pop icons The Spice Girls in the 1990s.
The infamous supermodel, 47, looked extremely patriotic after she was pictured wearing a Vivienne Westwood Union Jack blazer as she partied alongside Naomi Campbell, Patsy Kensit, Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor and celebrity makeup guru Charlotte Tilbury on the top of the 1990s adorned vehicle.
Standing proudly at the helm of the 1950s bus was Sir Cliff Richard who performed one of his killer hits beside, Chris Eubank, Katherine Jenkins and Bonnie Langford which was decorated with green and purple flowers.
Kate Garraway, Alan Titchmarsh, Coronation Street’s William Roach and Basil Brush waved to the adoring crowds from the top of the 1960s bus which featured an orange and purple floral psychedelic pattern.
The 1970s bus saw Shirley Ballas, Angela Rippon, Heather Small, Emmerdale star Patrick Mower and Lee Make be paraded through the capital at the £15million Pageant spectacular.
Meanwhile, TV presenter Timmy Mallett – who rocked a Union Jack hat – waved and smiled at the huge crowds alongside Pudsey Bear, Gary Lineker, Ruth Langsford and Tony Hadley on the 1980s bus.
Each bus saw actors, presenters, sports stars and singers parade through London from the top of the buses while a fleet of more than 200 classic vehicles – including Del Boy’s Robin Reliant and James Bond cars – followed behind.
More than 10,000 people were involved in staging the carnival route with an additional cast of 6,000 performers leading the way from House Guards, along Whitehall to Admiralty Arch and down The Mall to Buckingham Palace.
The lengthy route echoed Her Majesty’s coronation procession which travelled through the heart of London back in 1953.
It comes after the Queen stepped out onto the Buckingham Palace balcony on Sunday as she made her first public appearance since the Platinum Jubilee celebrations began on Thursday (June 2).
Her Royal Highness, 96, was greeted by roars of support from the thousands of spectators lining The Mall below as Britain’s longest-reigning monarch was helped onto the balcony by Prince Charles, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George.
