Ranvir Singh was forced to apologise to Christine Lampard after they’d suffered an error on Good Morning Britain that would have left the Lorraine star’s mum “in panic”.
The 44-year-old TV star had attempted to connect with Christine – who was supposed to be in the hosting chair on Lorraine but it seemed technology wasn’t playing ball on Tuesday’s episode (April 12).
After the break, an apologetic Ranvir said sorry to Frank Lampard’s wife, explaining that the blunder had been a fault at their own end.
Christine chirped back thanking the former Strictly Come Dancing star for the update, adding that her mum would have been worried.
Updating fans, Ranvir explained: “Now I teased you with Christine a moment ago, she is now in the hot seat.”
The former political correspondent added: “It was our fault, you were there all the time apparently.”
Laughing, Christine chirped in: “Look you’ll give my mum an absolute panic, she’ll be thinking ‘well why isn’t she there?'”
Setting the record straight, Christine said: “I am here, all is well.”
Meanwhile, fans of the ITV programme were unimpressed with co-star Richard Madeley’s update on Britney Spears’ pregnancy.
Taking to Twitter, many accused the TV veteran of stealing Britney’s thunder and making the segment about himself.
He revealed: “And we interviewed Britney Spears on one of our shows and we obviously had to give Chloe the morning off school.
“So she came in and Britney Spears comes on the floor of the studio in the commercial break and by arrangement came up to Chloe and said, ‘Hello Chloe, really nice to meet you’… she’s so sweet.
Richard continued: “I’m not making this up, Chloe didn’t speak for the rest of the day!”
One online user penned: “Did Richard Madeley just make Britney Spears’ pregnancy about him? #GMB.”
A comment beneath read in reply: “Yes, yes he did. He manages to make everything about himself.”
Another agreed: “Is there a subject that Richard Madeley won’t make about himself? I’m quite surprised he hasn’t managed to link the war in Ukraine to himself yet. #gmb #goodmorningbritain #RichardMadeley.”
A fourth added: “Me, me, me. My daughter this… What is the definition of news presenter these days? #gmb.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
