Rebel Wilson says Leonardo DiCaprio 'likes them young' as she mocks his dating habits

Actress Rebel Wilson made a rather awkward joke regarding Leonardo DiCaprio dating younger women while hosting the BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday evening (March 13).

As she walked through the audience, the 42-year-old approached 20-year-old CODA actress Emilia Jones.

Rebel then said: “I’ll give you the award for the person in the crowd Leonardo DiCaprio would find most attractive…

“He does like them young,” she added.

Although the joke was fairly savage, this isn’t the first time the Titanic star has been roasted for dating younger women.

In 2020, Ricky Gervais made a dig at Leonardo while hosting the Golden Globes.

The comedian said: “[It’s] almost three hours long – it’s an epic” he said, adding: “Leonardo DiCaprio attended the premiere and by the end his date was too old for him.”

As the audience erupted into laughter, Ricky added: “Even Prince Andrew’s like, ‘Come on, mate, you’re nearly 50, son.'”

The news comes as Rebel left viewers divided with her jokes while hosting the glitzy award ceremony.

As well as taking a swipe at Leonardo she also cracked jokes about members of the Royal Family.

In one segment of the show, the How To Be Single star made a quip about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Rebel said: “From drama to fantasy, Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview had it all.

“Unfortunately, that’s not nominated in this category, but some incredible films are.”

The star also seemed to make a scathing joke regarding Prince Andrew and his painful Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis.

But some viewers found her hosting the show fairly agonising to watch and took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the Australian actress.

Fans were left divided on Rebel’s presenting skills

One person said: “Rebel Wilson, someone make it stop. Cringe.”

Another commented: “Rebel Wilson is not funny, this baftas is so hard to watch her jokes and poor attempts to be funny.”

Meanwhile a third shared: “Watching Rebel Wilson present the #BAFTA2022 truly is to watch a very slow car crash. Excruciating.”

But some spectators enjoyed Rebel’s style of presenting and jumped to her defence.

One person penned: “RebelWilson did a mighty fine job tonight @BAFTA a job you can never do well: host a big awards show. Pacy, funny, edgy, light and frothy – nice one. Also, if a nominee doesn’t show up, fair play to be roasted #BAFTA2022″

Another agreed and wrote: “I’m quite enjoying Rebel Wilson presenting tonight. Like the close to the edge delivery. #BAFTA2022.”
