Dan Walker confessed that he often chats to Strictly Come Dancing star Helen Skelton who is taking part in this year’s series.
The former BBC Breakfast presenter, 45, took part in the 2021 series of the BBC dance competition and finished in fifth place alongside partner Nadiya Bychkova.
The Channel 5 star attended the Pride of Britain Awards on Monday (October 24) where he spoke exclusively to Daily Star on the red carpet about the Countryfile presenter, admitting he believes she will go far in the competition.

He said: “I know Helen Skelton really well and I’ve been talking to her quite a bit and I think he’s been fantastic and I told her she’s going to be there for quite some time.”

“She rang me the week before she went on and I told her you have to go into it with her eyes wide open,” the news anchor continued.
Speaking about his own time on the show, Dan added: “From my experience of it you have to enjoy it as much as you can and you never want to finish it and think ‘Ugh, I wish I allowed myself to enjoy it more’.”

The blonde beauty, 39, has been thriving in the competition, soaring to joint top of the leaderboard on Saturday (October 22) night alongside Hamza Yassin.
Performing the Charleston to the Blue Peter theme tune, Helen and her professional partner Gorka Marquez thoroughly impressed the judges, receiving 35 points for their fun routine.
The BBC Radio 5 Live host was grinning from ear to ear as she spoke to host Claudia Winkleman after receiving her highest score of the series.

This comes after Helen revealed she had moved her family back to her childhood town in Cumbria following her split from ex-husband Richie Myler.
The presenter confirmed she had relocated from Leeds where she and her rugby player ex used to live with their three children, Ernie, seven, Louis, five, and nine-month-old Elsie.
The star confirmed that her children being looked after by their grandparents as she splits her time between Cumbria and the Strictly studios in Hertfordshire.
