Brandon was sitting in his car when he was caught in the crossfire of a gunfight, where MailOnline reports that New Orleans police have explained how he was not the intended target of the shooting.

While the TikTok star sat in his car, a gunfight was occurring between two men in the parking lot of the store.

Police have released surveillance photographs of two suspects together with a grey or silver sedan car, as well as a photo of a woman they want to question named as Dyamonique Smith.

Brandon was visiting home in New Orleans from Los Angeles for Christmas to see his mother and grandmother.

He had been residing in LA for his career, but was back in his hometown for the Christmas holidays.

On Saturday (December 24), Brandon’s mother, Sherilyn Price, slammed the city of New Orleans in defence of her son who was a “victim of decades of neglect”.

In a statement she said: “My son was not just the victim of a stray bullet.

“He’s the victim of decades of neglect that have left New Orleans’ youth with no hope for a future and with no real fear of consequences.

“It’s past time for leaders in our city and all over to do their jobs. It matters who the president is, who the governor is, and who the mayor is.”

She went on: “Leaders create opportunities – including the opportunity to live in peace without fear of random violence.

“When crime and violence in New Orleans became worrisome, Montrell relocated to Washington D.C. and became a comedian.”
