Lewis Capaldi has joked that streaming platform Netflix should “fire” their advertising team after an awkward photo mix-up.
On billboards around the UK promoting the 26-year-old’s upcoming documentary – entitled Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now – is a photo of Liz Truss instead of the Scottish singing sensation.
The apparent “mix-up” sees a young Liz Truss appear on the promotional posters for the Netflix programme, which has now led to Lewis saying that whoever did it “needs firing”.

Liz Truss, who was the UK’s shortest serving Prime Minister, could be seen in the snap giving a speech as teenager for the Liberal Democrats.
Taking to Twitter today (March 28), Lewis shared to snaps of a billboard advert for the documentary, with him writing: “Ffs. Whoever is in charge of the billboards at Netflix needs firing.”
Fans flocked to the tweet to share their thoughts, with one person jokingly writing: “Lewis! When did you get a makeover? Absolutely stunning.”
“Louise Capaldi,” joked another.
While a third person said: “That’s definitely a glow up, man… Kinda jealous.”
And a fourth added: “That’s your long lost twin sister. Haha.”
Back in September 2022, Lewis responded to a viral trend comparing his looks to the young politician, which is why the billboard and promotional posters are thought to be a PR stunt.
When Liz became Prime Minister – and a short while before the iconic Daily Star Lettuce rose to fame – Lewis shared a tweet that saw a fan congratulating him on becoming PM with a snap of Liz.
At the time, Lewis replied: “Why do I look like so many female politicians.”
Just the other week Lewis promoted his upcoming emotional documentary, which is about his rise to fame and mental wellbeing, when he took to Twitter.
Sharing the trailer for the documentary, Lewis wrote: “Absolutely bricking it to show you the trailer for my Netflix documentary ‘How I’m Feeling Now”…
“[It] has been a weird two and a half years for me and it’s all been captured in this film.”
He jokingly concluded with: “The most emotional film about an overweight guy since The Whale x.”
Lewis’ touching documentary will drop onto Netflix on April 5.
