EastEnders fans are convinced they know when Sonia Fowler will give birth – but predict a ton of drama is in store.
Over in the soap recently, she struck up a relationship with Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman). The pair are desperate to have a child but have faced several hurdles – including Reiss’ infertility.
Despite a long wait, Sonia and Reiss managed to get IVF though with Sonia undergoing treatment. And during Monday’s episode (April 22) Sonia shared the happy news that she’s pregnant.

However, fans are certain a heartbreaking twist is in store for Sonia. Viewers will recall that Reiss is actually married and has a wife, Debbie. She was hospitalised in a long-term coma after suffering a stroke in the bath.
At first, Sonia was taken aback by dating a technically married man, but she soon changed her tune. The pair then started dating.
But unbeknownst to Sonia, Reiss resorted to stealing money from wife Debbie’s bank account to fund the treatment – something he failed to tell Sonia about. Now, viewers reckon Reiss’ wife will wake up when Sonia has given birth, and will get Reiss sent to jail.
One person on X, formerly known as Twitter, said: “I think they’re gonna head for splitsville at some point. Sonia is so desperate for another baby and Reiss has committed fraud and stolen Debbie’s money. When she finds out, Sonia will hit the roof.”
Other fans have ‘worked out’ when Sonia could give birth. Someone penned: “right so sonia will probably have her baby on the 40th OR new years.” Another wrote: “Sonia’s pregnant, 40th anniversary or new year birth on the way.”
On an EastEnders Facebook fan page, one viewer mused: “I’m calling a Xmas storyline around baby and his mrs waking up.” Someone else added: “Reiss is definitely going to Jail.”
Others On X penned: “I think she’ll wake up when Sonia has her baby and she steals it to get revenge on Reiss.” Someone else mused: “When is Debbie going to wake up? As soon as Sonia gets pregnant B. When Sonia goes into labour C. Immediately after Sonia gives birth.”
